Abstract
Despite growing progress in the construction of silazanes, the catalytic asymmetric synthesis of silicon-stereogenic silazanes is significantly less explored and remains a considerable challenge. Herein, we report a highly enantioselective synthesis of silicon-stereogenic silazanes via catalytic dehydrogenative coupling of dihydrosilanes with anilines. The reaction readily produces a wide range of chiral silazanes and bis-silazanes in excellent yields and stereoselectivities (up to 99% ee). Further utility of this process is demonstrated by the construction of polycarbosilazanes featuring configurational main chain silicon-stereogenic chirality. In addition, the straightforward transformation of the enantioenriched silazanes delivers various chiral silane compounds in a stereospecific fashion, illustrating their potential utilities as synthons for the synthesis of novel silicon-containing functional molecules.

Abstract
The synthesis and characterization of group 4 permethylpentalene (Pn* = C8Me6) hydride complexes are explored; in all cases, multimetallic hydride clusters were obtained. Group 4 lithium metal hydride clusters were obtained when reacting the metal dihalides with hydride transfer reagents such as LiAlH4, and these species featured an unusual hexagonal bipyramidal structural motif. Only the zirconium analogue was found to undergo hydride exchange in the presence of deuterium. In contrast, a trimetallic titanium hydride cluster was isolated on reaction of the titanium dialkyl with hydrogen. This diamagnetic, mixed valence species was characterized in the solid state, as well as by solution electron paramagnetic resonance and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The structure was further probed and corroborated by density functional theory calculations, which illustrated the formation of a metal-cluster bonding orbital responsible for the diamagnetism of the complex. These permethylpentalene hydride complexes have divergent structural motifs and reactivity in comparison with related classical cyclopentadienyl analogues.

Abstract
A comprehensive analysis of the bonding structure of the disilyl zirconocene amide cation {Cp2Zr[N(SiHMe2)2]}+ is conducted by application of an intrinsic orbital localization method that yields quasi-atomic orbitals (QUAOs). An emphasis is placed on describing a previously characterized three-center two-electron interaction between zirconium, hydrogen, and silicon that presents structural and spectroscopic features similar to that of agostic bonds. Expressions of the first-order density matrix in terms of the QUAOs yields bond orders (BOs), kinetic bond orders (KBOs), and the extent of transfer of charge that are useful to determine the electronic nature of the Zr-H-Si bond. The interactions between the QUAOs demonstrate the importance of vicinal interactions in the stabilization of the molecule. In addition, the evolution of the QUAOs during reactions with Lewis bases reveals the role of the Zr-H-Si interaction in facilitating the reaction.

Abstract
The macrocyclic polyamine 1,4,7-trimethyl-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane [LH = (Me3TACD)H] formed adducts with tetramethyl-silazides [M{N(SiHMe2)2}] (M = Li, Na, K) of light alkali metals. Upon heating, intramolecular dehydrocoupling occurred to give [M{(L)SiMe2N(SiHMe2)}]. BPh3 induced facile ring-opening of THF when reacted with [Li{(L)SiMe2N(SiHMe2)}].

Abstract
The syntheses of novel Group 5 and Group 6 hydrosilylamido complexes of the type R(ArN[double bond, length as m-dash])M{N((t)Bu)SiMe2-H}X (M = Ta, R = Cp; M = Mo, R = ArN; X = Cl, H, OBn, Me) are described. The various substituents in the X position seem to play the key role in determining the extent of β-agostic interaction with the Si-H bond. The Mo agostic hydrido complex (ArN[double bond, length as m-dash])2Mo{η(3)-N((t)Bu)SiMe2-H}H is a pre-catalyst for the hydrosilylation of carbonyls. The stoichiometric reaction between benzaldehyde and (ArN[double bond, length as m-dash])2Mo{η(3)-N((t)Bu)SiMe2-H}H gives the benzoxy complex (ArN[double bond, length as m-dash])2Mo{N((t)Bu)SiMe2-H}(OBn), which showed a similar catalytic reactivity compared to the parent hydride. Mechanistic studies suggest that a non-hydride mechanism is operative.
