Abstract
A Pd-catalyzed enantioselective aminosilylation of alkenes via tandem Aza-Heck/silylation reaction under Pd/Sadphos catalysis is disclosed. A wide array of oxime esters and silicon reagents are tolerated, furnishing the chiral pyrrolines bearing one quaternary or two contiguous stereocenters in good yield with high enantioselectivity. Not only terminal alkenes but also tri-substituented internal alkenes successfully participate in the reaction, delivering vicinal stereocenters in complete diastereoselectivity and high enantioselectivity. DFT study is conducted to probe the reaction pathway and the origin of the enantioselectivity, which revealed that the stereoinduction arises from the weak interaction between the aromatic ring of the substrate fragment and naphthyl group in the ligand.

Abstract
Nickel-catalyzed transannulation reactions triggered by the extrusion of small gaseous molecules have emerged as a powerful strategy for the efficient construction of heterocyclic compounds. However, their use in asymmetric synthesis remains challenging because of the difficulty in controlling stereo- and regioselectivity. Herein, we report the first nickel-catalyzed asymmetric synthesis of N-N atropisomers by the denitrogenative transannulation of benzotriazones with alkynes. A broad range of N-N atropisomers was obtained with excellent regio- and enantioselectivity under mild conditions. Moreover, density functional theory (DFT) calculations provided insights into the nickel-catalyzed reaction mechanism and enantioselectivity control.

Abstract
We here reported a highly stereoselective method for the synthesis of polysubstituted conjugated dienes from α-aryl α-diazo alkynyl ketones and pyrazole-substituted unsymmetric aminals under mild conditions, which was promoted by photo-irridation and involved with 1,6-dipolar intermediate and quadruple sigmatropic rearrangements, was successfully developed. In this transformation, the cleavage of four bonds and the recombination of five bonds were implemented in one operational step. This protocol provided a modular tool for constructing dienes from amines, pyrazoles and α-alkynyl-α-diazoketones in one-pot manner. The results of mechanistic investigation indicated that the plausible reaction path underwent the 1,6-sigmatropic rearrangement instead of the 1,5-sigmatropic rearrangement.

Abstract
The construction of chiral motifs containing nonadjacent stereocenters in an enantio- and diastereoselective manner has long been a challenging task in synthetic chemistry, especially with respect to their stereodivergent synthesis. Herein, we describe a protocol that enables the enantio- and diastereoselective construction of 1,5/1,7-nonadjacent tetrasubstituted stereocenters through a Pd/Cu-cocatalyzed Heck cascade reaction. Notably, a C=C bond relay strategy involving the shift of the π-allyl palladium intermediate was successfully applied in the asymmetric construction of 1,7-nonadjacent stereocenters. The current method allows for the efficient preparation of chiral molecules bearing two privileged scaffolds, oxindoles and non-natural α-amino acids, with good functional group tolerance. The full complement of the four stereoisomers of products bearing 1,5/1,7-nonadjacent stereocenters could be readily accessed by a simple combination of two chiral metal catalysts with different enantiomers.

Abstract
ConspectusPalladium catalysis, as one of the most important strategies in asymmetric synthesis, has continuously attracted the attention of organic chemists. With the development of chiral ligands, increasingly challenging reactions and substantial progress in asymmetric catalysis are being realized.Since 2014, we have focused on exploiting a series of sulfinamide phosphine ligands called "Sadphos," including Ming-Phos, Xu-Phos, Xiao-Phos, Xiang-Phos, TY-Phos, PC-Phos, GF-Phos, and WJ-Phos. These ligands can be easily prepared in two to four steps using commercial materials. These new types of ligands have shown remarkable performance in transition-metal-catalyzed reactions, especially in Pd-catalyzed transformations. X-ray diffraction analysis, mechanistic studies, and density functional theory calculations have revealed that Sadphos ligands can coordinate with the Pd0 and PdII species in the Pd0/P, Pd0/P,S, or PdII/P,O modes. This Account summarizes our recent efforts toward palladium-catalyzed enantioselective reactions using Sadphos ligands. These ligands were found to be privileged and very crucial to promote the reactions by increasing the reactivity and enantioselectivity. Ming-Phos is an effective ligand in Pd-catalyzed asymmetric coupling and intramolecular Heck reactions, providing highly enantioselective trisubstituted allenes, axially chiral anilides, gem-diarylmethine silanes, and disubstituted dihydroisoquinolinones. Incorporation of an electron-rich cyclohexyl group in the phosphine moiety afforded Xu-Phos, which showed a unique effect in a series of asymmetric transformations, including reductive Heck, dearomative Mizoroki-Heck, tandem Heck/Suzuki coupling, carboiodination, carboamination, and cross-coupling reactions. Using a similar strategy, our group synthesized more electron-rich TY-Phos and Xiang-Phos ligands bearing t-butyl and 1-adamantyl group at P atoms, respectively. Regarding stereoelectronic features, these two characteristic ligands were the best choice to satisfy the requirements of the palladium-catalyzed fluoroarylation of gem-difluoroalkenes, intermolecular α-arylation of aldehydes, carboetherification of alkenyl oximes, and carboheterofunctionalization of 2,3-dihydrofurans. Compared with the aforementioned Sadphos ligands, the attractive features of Xiao-Phos, including high nucleophilicity originating from the CH2PPh2 group and the ortho-substituent effect at the side of the aryl ring, are presumably responsible for its efficiency. The Pd/Xiao-Phos catalyst system shows good performance in a series of cross-coupling reactions of secondary phosphine oxides, affording P-stereogenic products bearing multiple types of molecular skeletons. The modification of the basic Sadphos backbone by introducing a xanthene skeleton motivated us to design and synthesize monophosphines, named PC-Phos and GF-Phos. PC-Phos is effective in various reactions, including arylation of sulfenate anions, denitrogenative cyclization of benzotriazoles, and dearomatization of indoles. The practicability of GF-Phos was validated in the Pd-catalyzed asymmetric three-component coupling of N-tosylhydrazones, aryl halides, and terminal alkynes, as well as in the cross-coupling of N-tosylhydrazones and vinyl iodides with pendent amines. In addition, ferrocene-derived WJ-Phos was employed in the palladium-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction, affording axially chiral biaryl monophosphine oxides in excellent enantiomeric excesses.

Abstract
An elegant Pd(dba)2-catalyzed enantioselective Heck dearomative annulation of indoles and N-tosylhydrazones for the straightforward assembly of structurally diverse optically active indoline scaffolds containing the quaternary carbon centers at the C2 position has been developed. The tandem protocol, which utilized a Pd(dba)2/BINOL-based phosphoramidite ligand as the catalytic system, proceeded smoothly through successive oxidative addition, intramolecular carbon palladation, migratory insertion, and β-elimination sequences, leading to the chiral indoline derivatives in moderate to excellent yields, with excellent enantioselectivities and diastereoselectivities. In addition, the synthetic practicability of the catalytic system was underlined by a scaled-up experiment and the late-stage derivatization of the products, thus highlighting the potential applications in synthetic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and material science.

Abstract
The enantioselective catalytic cascade involving Tsuji-Trost allylation has provided a viable strategy for the construction of multiple asymmetric C-C and C-X centres and numerous methods have been developed around it for the synthesis of various vital scaffolds. The synthetic utility of this strategy was enhanced by replacing the customary allyl acetates with ethylene diacetates/dicarbonates, vinyl epoxides, vinyl oxetanes, vinyl ethylene carbonates, vinyl cyclopropanes, enynes, and dienes using transition-metal catalysis. One more milestone was achieved when metallaphotocatalysis provided the necessary platform for these cascades by using a cheaper metal. This review will provide a summary of these enantioselective catalytic cascades from 2015.

Abstract
2,3-Dihydrobenzofurans are crucial building blocks in the synthesis of natural products and pharmaceutical molecules. However, their asymmetric synthesis has been a long-standing formidable challenge so far. In this work, we developed a highly enantioselective Pd/TY-Phos-catalyzed Heck/Tsuji-Trost reaction of o-bromophenols with various 1,3-dienes, allowing expedient access to chiral substituted 2,3-dihydrobenzofurans. This reaction features excellent regio- and enantiocontrol, high functional group tolerance, and easy scalability. More importantly, the demonstration of this method as a highly valuable tool for the construction of optically pure natural products (R)-tremetone and fomannoxin is highlighted.

Abstract
The photo-induced denitrogenative annulations of a variety of 1-alkenylbenzotriazoles were investigated. By judiciously manipulating the structural variations of 1-alkenylbenzotriazoles, two characteristic polycyclic skeletons associated with monoterpene indole alkaloids were constructed through a diverted and controllable manner. The present work not only enriches the photochemistry of 1-alkenylbenzotriazoles, but also offers a unified approach to access skeletally diverse indole alkaloid scaffolds.

Abstract
Chiral perhydroindoles are found in a number of natural products and biologically active compounds. Therefore, the development of new asymmetric methodology for rapid access to this core is of high importance. Herein, we reported a highly regio- and diastereo-selective palladium/PC-Phos-catalyzed asymmetric Heck/Tsuji-Trost reactions of readily available amino tethered 1,3-cyclohexadienes with aryl and alkenyl halides, delivering various functionalized chiral hexahydroindoles in good yields with high enantioselectivity. The application of this reaction to the concise synthesis of (-)-α-Lycorane was demonstrated. DFT computation results indicate that the difference in ΔEdis of two migration insertion transition states determines the enantioselectivity of the reaction.

Abstract
A modular synthesis of highly substituted 3-azapyrroles has been developed using a three-step sequence comprising copper-catalyzed alkyne-azide cycloaddition (CuAAC), N-H bond insertion, and cyclodehydration. 1-Sulfonyl-1,2,3-triazoles (1-STs) can be accessed from common alkyne and sulfonyl azide building blocks by CuAAC using CuTC. Rhodium(II)-acetate-promoted 1-ST denitrogenation results in highly electrophilic rhodium azavinyl carbenes that, here, underwent insertion into the N-H bond of secondary α-aminoketones to form 1,2-aminoalkenes. These products were cyclized and dehydrated using BF3·OEt2 into highly substituted 3-azapyrroles. The three steps (CuAAC, N-H bond insertion, and cyclodehydration) could be telescoped into a one-pot process. The method proved to be highly efficient and tolerated a wide range of substituents.

Abstract
Asymmetric cycloaddition reactions are the most powerful tool to the expeditious construction of enantioenriched cyclic motifs in organic chemistry. In sharp contrast to well-developed cycloaddition reactions via the palladium-trimethylenemethane (Pd-TMM) intermediate, hetero (3 + 2) cycloadditions of the heteroallyl cations remain rare, largely due to their thermally forbidden nature. To the best of our knowledge, there is no example of asymmetric version leading to enantioenriched heterocycles reported so far. Herein we enabled the first example of catalytic asymmetric (3 + 2) cycloaddition of electrophilic palladium-heteroallyl zwitterion intermediate (Pd-OTMM or Pd-NTMM) with cyclic or acyclic 1,3-dienes via a pathway terminated with C-N or C-O bond formation, delivering the highly substituted or fused pyrrolidine and tetrahydrofuran rings in high yields with excellent regio-, diastereo-, and enantioselectivity. Engineering the PC-Phos, one of the chiral sulfinamide phosphine (Sadphos) type ligands, by introducing the di-tert-butyl or/and 3,5-difluorophenyl group is a vital component in achieving excellent catalytic reactivity and enantioselectivity.

Abstract
A Pd-catalyzed enantioselective three-component reaction of N-sulfonylhydrazones, aryl bromides, and silylboronic esters is developed, enabling the synthesis of chiral gem-diarylmethine silanes in high enantioselectivity with the use of a newly identified Ming-Phos. Compared with N-tosyl, the more easily decomposed N-mesitylsulfonyl is more suitable as the masking group of electron-rich hydrazone to improve the reaction efficiency. The reaction features a broad scope concerning both coupling partners, high enantioselectivity, and mild reaction conditions. The ready access to enantiomers and utility of this catalytic method are also presented.

Abstract
Abstract
Since its inception in 1960s, the Tsuji–Trost reaction, an allylic substitution reaction with diverse nucleophiles such as phenols, amines, thiols, and active methylene compounds, has remained as one of the most useful and widely used organic reactions for the construction of C–C and C–heteroatom bonds. Allylic compounds such as allylic acetates, alcohols, halides, and carbonates undergo this transformation which plays an important role in the total synthesis of various natural products. The competence to incorporate synthetically demanding allylic functionalities makes it a beneficial tool for the synthesis of complex molecules. Over the last two decades, major advancements for this unique and facile Tsuji–Trost allylation reaction have been made with special emphasis to develop greener and sustainable protocols. This chapter presents an update on the significant progress focusing on the newly designed catalytic systems with high efficiency, the use of eco-friendly solvents or solvent-free conditions, low or room temperature conditions and waste management, along with future outlook.

Abstract
An efficient cobalt-catalyzed geometrical isomerization of 1,3-dienes is described. In the combination of a CoCl2 precatalyst with an amido-diphosphine-oxazoline ligand, the geometrical isomerization of E/Z mixtures of 1,3-dienes proceed in a stereoconvergent manner, affording (E) isomers in high stereoselectivity. This facile transformation features a broad substrate scope with good functional group tolerance and could be scaled up to the gram scale smoothly with a catalyst loading of 1 mol %.

Abstract
The cross-coupling of N-tosylhydrazones has emerged as a powerful method for the construction of structurally diverse molecules, but the development of catalytic enantioselective versions still poses considerable challenges and only very limited examples have been reported. We herein report an asymmetric palladium/GF-Phos-catalyzed carbenylative amination reaction of N-tosylhydrazones and (E)-vinyl iodides pendent with amine, which allows facile access to a range of chiral pyrrolidines and piperidines in good yields (45–93%) with up to 96.5 : 3.5 er. Moreover, mild conditions, general substrate scope, scaled-up preparation, as well as the efficient synthesis of natural product (−)-norruspoline are practical features of this method. An efficient asymmetric palladium/GF-Phos-catalyzed carbenylative amination reaction to access structurally diverse chiral pyrrolidines and piperidines in good yields with high chemo-, regio- and enantioselectivities has been developed.![]()
