Abstract
Ligand modulation of transition-metal catalysts to achieve optimal reactivity and selectivity in alkene hydrofunctionalization is a fundamental challenge in synthetic organic chemistry. Hydroaminoalkylation, an atom-economical approach for alkylating amines using alkenes, is particularly significant for amine synthesis in the pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and fine chemical industries. However, the existing methods usually require specific substrate combinations to achieve precise regio- and stereoselectivity, which limits their practical utility. Protocols allowing for regiodivergent hydroaminoalkylation from the same starting materials, controlling both regiochemical and stereochemical outcomes, are currently absent. Herein, we report a ligand-controlled, regiodivergent nickel-catalyzed hydroaminoalkylation of unactivated alkenes with N-sulfonyl amines. The reaction initiates with amine dehydrogenation and involves aza-nickelacycle intermediates. Tritert-butylphosphine promotes branched regioselectivity and syn diastereoselectivity, whereas ethyldiphenylphosphine enables linear selectivity, yielding regioisomers with inverse orientation. Systematic evaluation of diverse monodentate phosphine ligands reveals distinct regioselectivity cliffs, and % Vbur (min), a ligand steric descriptor, was established as a predictive parameter correlating ligand structure to regioselectivity. Computational investigations supported experimental findings, offering mechanistic insights into the origins of regioselectivity. Our method provides an efficient and predictable route for amine synthesis, demonstrating broad substrate scope, excellent tolerance toward various functional groups, and practical advantages. These include the use of readily available starting materials and cost-effective nickel(II) salts as precatalysts.

Abstract
Alkene borylfunctionalization reactions have emerged as useful methods for chemical synthesis. While much progress has been made on 1,2-borylamination reactions, the related 1,1- and 1,3-borylaminations have not been reported. Herein, a Ni-catalyzed 1,1-borylamination of 1,1-disubstituted and monosubstituted alkenes and a 1,3-borylamination of cyclic alkenes are presented. Key to development of these reactions was the identification of an alkyllithium activator in combination with Mg salts. The utility of the products and the mechanistic details are discussed.

Abstract
Aminoboration of simple alkenes with nitrogen nucleophiles remains an unsolved problem in synthetic chemistry; this transformation can be catalyzed by palladium via aminopalladation followed by transmetalation with a diboron reagent. However, this catalytic process faces inherent challenges with instability of the alkylpalladium(II) intermediate toward β-hydride elimination. Herein, we report a palladium/iron cocatalyzed aminoboration, which enables this transformation. We demonstrate these conditions on a variety of alkenes and norbornenes with an array of common nitrogen nucleophiles. In the developed strategy, the iron cocatalyst is crucial to achieving the desired reactivity by serving as a halophilic Lewis acid to release the transmetalation-active cationic alkylpalladium intermediate. Furthermore, it serves as a redox shuttle in the regeneration of the Pd(II) catalyst by reactivation of nanoparticulate palladium.

Abstract
A copper-catalysed regio- and diastereoselective borylamination of α,β-unsaturated esters with B2pin2 and hydroxylamines has been developed to deliver acyclic β-boryl-α-amino acid derivatives with high anti-diastereoselectivity (up to >99 : 1), which is difficult to obtain by the established methods. A chiral phosphoramidite ligand also successfully induces the enantioselectivity, giving the optically active β-borylated α-amino acids. The products can be stereospecifically transformed into β-functionalised α-amino acids, which are of potent interest in medicinal chemistry.

Abstract
![]()
Functionalized alicyclic amines are important building
blocks for
the synthesis of bioactive natural compounds and drugs. Existing methods
of functionalization are typically limited to the synthesis of protected
amines or the use of highly basic organometallic reagents that can
compromise functional group tolerance. Here, we report a novel approach
that enables the transformation of O-benzoyl hydroxylamines
into α-functionalized cyclic secondary amines by means of a
copper-catalyzed regio-, stereo-, and chemoselective coupling with
allenes and bis(pinacolato)diboron. A key feature of the present transformation
is the use of a catalytic Lewis base additive which inhibits the competing
C–N bond forming reaction between the catalytically generated
boron-substituted allylcopper intermediate with the O-benzoyl hydroxylamine, thus enabling in situ transformation of the
latter into an alicyclic imine which undergoes selective C–C
bond formation with the allylcopper species.

Abstract
An unprecedented synthetic strategy is devised to generate β-aminoboronic acids from aziridines via a sequential process involving 1,2-iodoamine formation and radical borylation under light irradiation. A variety of aziridines including multiply substituted aziridines have been successfully employed as synthetic precursors, expanding their synthetic utility compared to previous methods. Mechanistic studies suggest that the boron source plays a unique role in the borylation step, and in the formation of haloamine intermediates.

Abstract
The catalytic asymmetric borylation of conjugated carbonyls followed by stereoselective intramolecular cascade cyclizations with in situ generated chiral enolates are extremely rare. Herein, we report the enantioselective Cu(I)-catalyzed β-borylation/Michael addition on prochiral enone-tethered 2,5-cyclohexadienones. This asymmetric desymmetrization strategy has a broad range of substrate scope to generate densely functionalized bicyclic enones bearing four contiguous stereocenters with excellent yield, enantioselectivity, and diastereoselectivity. One-pot borylation/cyclization/oxidation via the sequential addition of sodium perborate reagent affords the corresponding alcohols without affecting yield and enantioselectivity. The synthetic potential of this reaction is explored through gram-scale reactions and further chemoselective transformations on products. DFT calculations explain the requirement of the base in an equimolar ratio in the reaction, as it leads to the formation of a lithium-enolate complex to undergo C-C bond formation via a chair-like transition state, with a barrier that is 22.5 kcal/mol more favourable than that of the copper-enolate complex. Rapidly building molecular structures with both elements of complexity and flexibility is a key goal of organic synthesis. Here the authors show a tandem copper-catalyzed β-borylation/Michael addition on prochiral enone-tethered 2,5-cyclohexadienones, to generate bicyclic borylated products in high yield and enantioselectivity.

Abstract
Nitrogen (N) is ubiquitously found in bioactive molecules, pharmaceutical agents, and organic functional materials. Accordingly, development of new C-N bond-forming catalysis has been one of the long-standing research subjects in synthetic organic chemistry. In this Perspective, recent advances in highly selective amination reactions with electrophilic amination reagents are described: by taking advantage of the concept of nitrogen umpolung, otherwise challenging aminofunctionalizations, such as hydroamination, aminoboration, and carboamination, of readily available feedstock-like alkenes and alkynes are possible, giving densely functionalized complex and often chiral alkylamines with high selectivity. The scope, limitations, and reaction mechanism are briefly summarized.

Abstract
Developing non-noble metal-based catalysts with excellent performance for selective hydrogenation of alkynes under mild reaction conditions is highly desirable but still faces challenges. Herein, a non-noble nickel-modified covalent organic framework (Ni/COF) had been synthesized through a facile post-modified method and followed by reduction at a different temperature under a H2/Ar atmosphere. The as-prepared catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller, and Fourier transforms infrared, and the optimal H350-Ni/COF presents excellent catalytic performance in the semihydrogenation of a series of aromatic terminal alkyne substrates, particularly in the partial hydrogenation of phenylacetylene with nearly full conversion and 85% selectivity toward styrene under mild reaction conditions (10 bar of H2, 100 °C, and 1 h). Moreover, such a catalyst also exhibited satisfying stability after three consecutive cycles.

Abstract
This review discusses recent advances in the chemistry of saturated boronic acids, boronates, and trifluoroborates. Applications of the title compounds in the design of boron-containing drugs are surveyed, with special emphasis on α-amino boronic derivatives. A general overview of saturated boronic compounds as modern tools to construct C(sp3 )-C and C(sp3 )-heteroatom bonds is given, including recent developments in the Suzuki-Miyaura and Chan-Lam cross-couplings, single-electron-transfer processes including metallo- and organocatalytic photoredox reactions, and transformations of boron "ate" complexes. Finally, an attempt to summarize the current state of the art in the synthesis of saturated boronic acids, boronates, and trifluoroborates is made, with a brief mention of the "classical" methods (transmetallation of organolithium/magnesium reagents with boron species, anti-Markovnikov hydroboration of alkenes, and the modification of alkenyl boron compounds) and a special focus on recent methodologies (boronation of alkyl (pseudo)halides, derivatives of carboxylic acids, alcohols, and primary amines, boronative C-H activation, novel approaches to alkene hydroboration, and 1,2-metallate-type rearrangements).

Abstract
Chiral organoboronates have played a critical role in organic chemistry and in the development of materials science and pharmaceuticals. Much effort has been devoted to exploring synthetic methodologies for the preparation of these compounds during the past few decades. Among the known methods, asymmetric catalysis has emerged as a practical and highly efficient strategy for their straightforward preparation, and recent years have witnessed remarkable advances in this respect. Approaches such as asymmetric borylative addition, asymmetric allylic borylation and stereospecific cross-coupling borylation, have been extensively explored and well established employing transition-metal catalysis with a chiral ligand. This review provides a comprehensive overview of transition metal-catalysed asymmetric borylation processes to construct carbon-boron, carbon-carbon, and other carbon-heteroatom bonds. It summarises a range of recent achievements in this area of research, with considerable attention devoted to the reaction modes and the mechanisms involved.

Abstract
An efficient transition-metal-free cyclizing radical aminoboration of unactivated alkenes is reported. The B2(OH)4 reagent was used as the boron source, and the interaction between B2(OH)4 and an aryloxyamide N-radical precursor enabled the chain reaction to be initiated upon irradiation in the absence of any catalyst. This transformation proceeds via cyclization of an N-radical with subsequent intermolecular C-radical borylation. The cascade shows a broad scope and provides a wide range of high-value cyclic 1,2-aminoboronic esters.

Abstract
The N-H deprotonation of the diaminodialkoxido diborane(4) pinB-Bdab (1) (pin: (OCMe2)2, dab: 1,2-(NH)2C6H4), is crucial for the electrophilic N-functionalisation towards unsymmetrical diborane(4) reagents. An N-H deprotonated diborane(4) comprises Lewis basic nitrogen atoms and at the same time Lewis acidic boron atoms. This bifunctionality governs its reactivity and structural chemistry. Whilst bases such as Na(hmds), tBuLi or Li(tmp) readily effect a single deprotonation of 1, the second deprotonation is less straightforward and cleanly only achieved with Li(tmp) as a strong but little nucleophilic base. The N-H deprotonated diborane(4) derivatives readily dimerise to give B(sp2)2B(sp3)2N2 six-membered ring Lewis base adducts. The structural chemistry of this class of compounds was studied in detail in the solid state by single crystal X-ray diffraction as well as in solution by NMR spectroscopy.

Abstract
New methods for C-N bond construction exploiting the N-centered electrophilic character of iminoquinones are reported. Iminoquinones, generated in situ via the condensation of o-vinylanilines with benzoquinones, undergo acid-catalyzed cyclization to afford N-arylindoles in excellent yields. Under similar reaction conditions, homoallylic amines react analogously to afford N-arylpyrroles. Additionally, organometallic nucleophiles are shown to add to the nitrogen atom of N-alkyliminoquinones to provide amine products. Finally, iminoquinones are shown to be competent electrophiles for copper-catalyzed hydroamination.

Abstract
The addition reaction between CuBpin and alkenes to give a terminal boron substituted intermediate is usually fast and facile. In this communication, a selectivity-reversed procedure has been designed and established. This selectivity-reversed borocarbonylation reaction is enabled by a cooperative action between palladium and copper catalysts and proceeds with complete regioselectivity. The key to the success of this transformation is the coordination of the amide group and slower CuBpin formation by using KHCO3 as the base. A wide range of β-boryl ketones were produced from terminal unactivated aliphatic alkenes and aryl iodides. Further synthetic transformations of the obtained β-boryl ketones have been developed as well. A selectivity-reversed borocarbonylation reaction has been developed with complete regioselectivity.![]()

Abstract
Compared with the well-developed centrally chiral boron chemistry, C-B axially chiral chemistry remains elusive and challenging. Herein we report the first atroposelective Miyaura borylation of bromoarenes with unsymmetrical diboron reagents for the direct catalytic synthesis of optically active atropisomeric arylborons. This reaction features broad substrate scope and produces axially chiral arylborons with high yields and good enantioselectivities.

Abstract
A novel iodide-catalyzed intermolecular aminooxygenation strategy is described here. Amide is used as the O- and N- source to probe for regiocontrol strategies. Notably, simple additives can be selectively introduced to achieve regiodivergent oxyamination processes for electronically activated alkenes while being regio-complementary for unactivated alkenes. Our preliminary data demonstrates that this regiocontrol strategy based on nucleophile can also be applied in asymmetric processes using chiral hypervalent iodine catalysis.

Abstract
A new copper-catalyzed two-component amino-benzoyloxylation of unactivated alkenes of unsaturated ketoximes with O-benzoylhydroxylamines as the benzoyloxy sources is developed. Chemoselectivity of this method toward amino-benzoyloxylation or oxy-benzoyloxylation of alkenyl ketoximes relies on the position of the tethered olefins, and provides an external-oxidant-free alkene difunctionalization route that directly utilizes O-benzoylhydroxylamines as the benzoyloxy radical precursors and internal oxidants for the divergent synthesis of cyclic nitrones and isoxazolines.

Abstract
Reported herein is the pyrazole-directed iridium-catalyzed enantioselective borylation of unbiased methylene C-H bonds at the position β to a nitrogen center. The combination of a chiral bidentate boryl ligand, iridium precursor, and pyrazole directing group was responsible for the high regio- and enantioselectivity observed. The method tolerated a vast array of functional groups to afford the corresponding C(sp3 )-H functionalization products with good to excellent enantioselectivity.

Abstract
Regioselective transformation is among the long-standing challenges in organic synthesis. In this communication, a copper-catalyzed selectivity controlled regiodivergent borocarbonylation of imines with alkyl iodides has been developed. Various α-amino ketones and α-boryl amides were produced in moderate to good yields from the same substrates. The choice of the ligand is key for the regioselectivity control: α-amino ketones were produced selectively in good yields with (p-CF3 C6 H4 )3 P as the ligand, whereas the corresponding α-boryl amides were obtained with high regioselectivities when using Me IMes as the ligand.

Abstract
In organic synthesis, ligand-modified copper(I) hydride (CuH) complexes have become well-known reagents and catalysts for selective reduction, particularly toward Michael acceptors and carbonyl compounds. Recently, our group and others have found that these hydride complexes undergo migratory insertion (hydrocupration) with relatively unactivated and electronically unpolarized olefins, producing alkylcopper intermediates that can be leveraged to forge a variety of useful bonds. The resulting formal hydrofunctionalization reactions have formed the basis for a resurgence of research in CuH catalysis. This Account chronicles the development of this concept in our research group, highlighting its origin in the context of asymmetric hydroamination, evolution to more general C-X bond-forming reactions, and applications in the addition of olefin-derived nucleophiles to carbonyl derivatives.Hydroamination, the formal insertion of an olefin into the N-H bond of an amine, is a process of significant academic and industrial interest, due to its potential to transform widely available alkenes and alkynes into valuable complex amines. We developed a polarity-reversed strategy for catalytic enantioselective hydroamination relying on the reaction of olefins with CuH to generate chiral organocopper intermediates, which are intercepted by electrophilic amine reagents. By engineering the auxiliary ligand, amine electrophile, and reaction conditions, the scope of this method has since been extended to include many types of olefins, including challenging internal olefins. Further, the scope of amine reagents has been expanded to enable the synthesis of primary, secondary, and tertiary amines as well as amides, N-alkylated heterocycles, and anilines. All of these reactions exhibit high regio- and stereoselectivity and, due to the mild conditions required, excellent tolerance for heterocycles and polar functional groups.Though the generation of alkylcopper species from olefins was originally devised as a means to solve the hydroamination problem, we soon found that these intermediates could react efficiently with an unexpectedly broad range of electrophiles, including alkyl halides, silicon reagents, arylpalladium species, heterocycles, and carbonyl derivatives. The general ability of olefins to function as precursors for nucleophilic intermediates has proved particularly advantageous in carbonyl addition reactions because it overcomes many of the disadvantages associated with traditional organometallic reagents. By removing the need for pregeneration of the nucleophile in a separate operation, CuH-catalyzed addition reactions of olefin-derived nucleophiles feature improved step economy, enhanced functional group tolerance, and the potential for catalyst control over regio- and stereoselectivity. Following this paradigm, feedstock olefins such as allene, butadiene, and styrene have been employed as reagents for asymmetric alkylation of ketones, imines, and aldehydes.

Abstract
Numerous reactions generating C-Si and C-B bonds are in focus owing to the importance of incorporating silicon or boron into new or existing drugs, in addition to their use as building blocks in cross-coupling reactions en route to various targets of both natural and unnatural origins. In this review, recent protocols relying on copper-catalyzed sp3 carbon-silicon and carbon-boron bond-forming reactions are discussed.

Abstract
The NaOtBu-catalyzed mixed 1,1-diboration of terminal alkynes using the unsymmetrical diboron reagent BpinBdan (pin = pinacolato; dan = 1,8-diaminonaphthalene) proceeds in a regio- and stereoselective fashion affording moderate to high yields of 1,1-diborylalkenes bearing orthogonal boron protecting groups. It is applicable to gram-scale synthesis without loss of yield or selectivity. The mixed 1,1-diborylalkene products can be utilized in Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions which take place selectivly at the C-B site. DFT calculations suggest the NaOtBu-catalyzed mixed 1,1-diboration of alkynes occurs through deprotonation of the terminal alkyne, stepwise addition of BpinBdan to the terminal carbon followed by protonation with tBuOH. Experimentally observed selective formation of (Z)-diborylalkenes is supported by our theoretical studies.

Abstract
The synthesis of allenyl-Bdan has been realized via the Cu(I)-catalyzed borylation of propargylic alcohols. This methodology offers a facile and efficient pathway toward allenyboronates with diverse functional groups due to the simple access to the substrates. The substrates bearing ester groups are well-tolerated in the synthesis of allenyl-Bdan under the Lewis acidic conditions. The structures of two allenyl-Bdan were further confirmed via single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
