Abstract
An efficient and environmentally friendly synthetic approach to prepare thiazolidine-2-imine and oxazolidine-2-one derivatives has been developed. Thiazolidine-2-imines are synthesized in good to excellent yields by [3 + 2] annulation of p-quinamines with isothiocyanates under catalyst- and solvent-free conditions. Oxazolidine-2-ones are produced in good to excellent yields via [3 + 2] annulation of p-quinamines with CO2 using triethylenediamine (DABCO) as an organocatalyst. Furthermore, this strategy can be performed on a gram scale and tolerate a wide range of functional groups.

Abstract
An efficient Rh(III)-catalyzed bicyclization of 2-arylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine with cyclic enones has been developed for the synthesis of bridged imidazopyridine derivatives in excellent yields up to 95%. The reaction proceeds through a sequential conjugate addition of ortho-C-H bond of aryl group followed by an intramolecular C3-alkylation of imidazopyridine ring in a highly regioselective manner.

Abstract

Rhodacyclopentanones derived from
carbonylative C–C activation
of cyclopropyl ureas can be “captured” by pendant nucleophiles
prior to “collapse” to 1,3-diazepanes. The choice of
N-substituent on the cyclopropane unit controls the oxidation level
of the product, such that C4–C5 unsaturated or saturated systems
can be accessed selectively.

Abstract
Treatment of N-allylic,N'-aryl ureas with a catalytic 1:1 mixture of di-tert-butyl-o-biphenylphoshphine gold(I) chloride and silver hexafluorophosphate (1 mol %) in chloroform at room temperature led to 5-exo hydroamination to form the corresponding imidazolidin-2-ones in excellent yield. In the case of N-allylic ureas that possessed an allylic alkyl, benzyloxymethyl, or acetoxymethyl substituent, gold(I)-catalyzed 5-exo hydroamination leads to formation of the corresponding trans-3,4-disubstituted imidazolidin-2-ones in excellent yield with ≥50:1 diastereoselectivity.

Abstract
A method for the synthesis of imidazolidin-2-ones from N-allylureas and aryl or alkenyl bromides via Pd-catalyzed carboamination reactions is described. The N-allylurea precursors are prepared in one step from readily available allylic amines and isocyanates, and the Pd-catalyzed reactions effect the formation of a C-C bond, a C-N bond, and up to two stereocenters in a single step. Good diastereoselectivities are obtained for the conversion of substrates bearing allylic substituents to 4,5-disubstituted imidazolidin-2-ones, and excellent selectivity for the generation of products resulting from syn-addition across the alkene is observed when substrates derived from cyclic alkenes or E-1,2-disubstituted alkenes are employed. A brief discussion of reaction mechanism and product stereochemistry is presented.

Abstract
A first palladium-catalyzed intramolecular diamination of unfunctionalized terminal alkenes has recently been reported. This study investigates the details of its mechanistic course based on NMR titration, kinetic measurements competition experiments, and deuterium labeling. It concludes a two-step procedure consisting of syn-aminopalladation with an unligated palladium(II) catalyst state followed by oxidation to palladium(IV) and subsequent C-N bond formation to give the final products as cyclic diamines. Related reactions employing sulfamides give rise to aminoalkoxy-functionalization of alkenes. This process was investigated employing deuterated alkenes and found to follow an identical mechanism where stereochemistry is concerned. It exemplifies the importance of cationic palladium(IV) intermediates prior to the final reductive elimination from palladium and proves that the nucelophile for this step stems from the immediate coordination sphere of the palladium(IV) precursor. These results have important implications for the general development of alkene 1,2-difunctionalization and for the individual processes of aminopalladation and palladium-catalyzed C(alkyl)-N bond formation.

Abstract
A new, simple, and regioselective synthesis of thiazolidinimine derivatives based on the rhodium-catalyzed reaction of readily available thiazolidines with carbodiimides is described. This methodology provides direct access to a large variety of thiazolidinimine derivatives, possibly via a novel regiospecific insertion of carbodiimides into one of two ring carbon-nitrogen bonds, as well as a metal-catalyzed imine elimination process.
