Abstract
We report a high throughput evaluation of the Mizoroki-Heck reaction of diverse olefin coupling partners. Comparison of different ligands revealed the 1,5-diaza-3,7-diphosphacyclooctane (P2N2) scaffold to be more broadly applicable than common "gold standard" ligands, demonstrating that this family of readily accessible diphosphines has unrecognized potential in organic synthesis. In particular, two structurally related P2N2 ligands were identified to enable the regiodivergent arylation of styrenes. By simply altering the phosphorus substituent from a phenyl to tert-butyl group, both the linear and branched Mizoroki-Heck products can be obtained in high regioisomeric ratios. Experimental and computational mechanistic studies were performed to further probe the origin of selectivity, which suggests that both ligands coordinate to the metal in a similar manner but that rigid positioning of the phosphorus substituent forces contact with the incoming olefin in a π-π interaction (for P-Ph ligands) or with steric clash (for P-tBu ligands), dictating the regiocontrol.

Abstract
Posttranslational modifications (PTMs) of histones have been demonstrated to be the key regulating mechanism of nucleosome dynamics and chromatin structure. Lysine succinylation is a recently discovered PTM that plays critical roles in metabolism, epigenetic signaling, and is correlated with several diseases. One significant challenge in studying the effects of this modification on nucleosome dynamics is to obtain site-specifically modified histones. Here, we report the rapid site-specific incorporation of a succinylation mimic into histones, which facilitates the characterization of its impact on nucleosome dynamics with a Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) approach.

Abstract
Lysine succinylation is a recently discovered posttranslational modification that plays critical roles in metabolism, epigenetic signaling, and human diseases. To investigate the effects of site-specific histone lysine succinylation on nucleosome dynamics requires the generation of homogeneously modified histones, which is a significant challenge. Here, we report a protocol for the rapid site-specific installation of a succinyl lysine analog onto histone. We then use a Förster resonance energy transfer approach to characterize the impact on nucleosome dynamics. For complete details on the use and execution of this protocol, please refer to Jing et al. Abstract
The Chan–Evans–Lam reaction of 1-unsubstituted 4-fluoroalkylpyrimidin-2(1Н)-ones with arylboronic acids is reported as a facile synthetic route to hitherto unavailable N1-(het)aryl and N1-alkenyl derivatives of the corresponding pyrimidines. An efficient C–N bond-forming process is also observed by using boronic acid pinacol esters as coupling partners in the presence of Cu(II) acetate and boric acid. The 4-fluoroalkyl group on the pyrimidine ring significantly assists in the formation of the target N1-substituted products, in contrast to the 4-methyl and 4-unsubstituted substrates which do not undergo N1-arylation under similar reaction conditions.

Abstract
Novel chiral ionic liquid stationary phases based on chiral imidazolium were prepared. The ionic liquid chiral selector was synthesized by ring opening of cyclohexene oxide with imidazole or 5,6-dimethylbenzimidazole, and then chemically modified by different substitute groups. Chiral stationary phases were prepared by bonding to the surface of silica sphere through thioene "click" reaction. Their enantioselective separations of chiral acids were evaluated by high-performance liquid chromatography. The retention of acid sample was related to the counterion concentration and showed a typical ion exchange process. The chiral separation abilities of chiral stationary phases were greatly influenced by the substituent group on the chiral selector as well as the mobile phase, which indicated that, besides ion exchange, other interactions such as steric hindrance, π-π interaction, and hydrogen bonding are important for the enantioselectivity. In this report, the influence of bulk solvent components, the effects of varying concentration, and the type of the counterion as well as the proportion of acid and basic additives were investigated in detail.

Abstract
Thiophenes containing an adjacent C≡C group as ligands for PdII-promoted organic reactions are reported for the first time. These ligands were utilized as catalytic sites and integrated into the skeleton of conjugated microporous polymers. By employing these CMP materials as selective regulators, oxidative Heck reactions between arylboronic esters and electronically unbiased alkenes provide highly selective linear products.

Abstract
Branched-selective oxidative Heck coupling reactions have been developed between arylboronic acids and electronically unbiased terminal alkenes. The reactions exhibit high catalyst-controlled regioselectivity favoring the less common branched isomer. The reactions employ a catalyst composed of Pd(TFA)2/dmphen (TFA = trifluoroacetate, dmphen = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) and proceed efficiently at 45-60 °C under 1 atm of O2 without requiring other additives. A broad array of functional groups, including aryl halide, allyl silane and carboxylic acids are tolerated.

Abstract
Enamides are stable enamine surrogates and provide key intermediates for the synthesis of small but complex nitrogen-containing compounds. Metal-catalyzed regioselective functionalization of enamides provides a rapid method to synthesize useful nitrogen containing heterocycles. This review discloses the recent progress made in the development of the C-H functionalization of enamides involving efficient and atom-economical routes. Syntheses of different heterocycles are classified based on the site reactivity of enamides and key mechanistic insights are given for each transformation.

Abstract
An oxidative boron-Heck reaction of cyclic enaminones with arylboronic acids is reported. This protocol provides a regioselective arylation at the C6 position of cyclic enaminones. When an N-carbamylated cyclic enaminone was employed, a switch to a conjugate addition reaction occurred in the presence of acid.

Abstract
The cell division cycle 25 (Cdc25) family of proteins are dual specificity phosphatases that activate cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) complexes, which in turn regulate progression through the cell division cycle. Overexpression of Cdc25 proteins has been reported in a wide variety of cancers; their inhibition may thus represent a novel approach for the development of anticancer therapeutics. Herein we report new coumarin-based scaffolds endowed with a selective inhibition against Cdc25A and Cdc25C, being 6a and 6d the most efficient inhibitors and worthy of further investigation as anticancer agents.
