Abstract
A 1,3-sulfonyl migration of difluorovinyl sulfonates initiated by a catalytic amount of silver fluoride is presented. α,α-Difluoro-β-ketosulfones were successfully prepared in excellent yields. This method features high chemoselectivity, good functional group tolerance, high atom economy, and mild, environmentally benign reaction conditions. Furthermore, mechanistic experiments indicate that this migration proceeds in an intermolecular pathway and the corresponding sulfinates are possible intermediates.

Abstract
An effective method for transition-metal-free postfunctionalization of thiazolo[3,2-c][1,3,5,2]oxadiazaborinine dyes via direct lithiation of the 1,3-thiazole ring was developed. The reaction allows valuable regioselective C-H modification of these N,O-chelated organoboron chromophores incorporating different groups, including C-, Hal-, Si-, S-, Se-, and Sn-substituents. As a result, a library of novel fluorescent 1,3-thiazole-based organoboron complexes has been synthesized and characterized. The influence of the donor/acceptor strength of the substituent E on the photophysical properties has been established. The compound with a bulky lipophilic substituent (SnBu3) exhibits a relatively high solid-state photoluminescence quantum yield of 44%.

A Facile and Eco-Friendly Method for the Synthesis of Sulfonamide and Sulfonate Carboxylic Acid Derivatives—X-ray Structure, Hirshfeld Analysis and Spectroscopic Characterizations. CRYSTALS 2019. Abstract
The search for a simple and efficient method for the synthesis of sulfonamide and sulfonate derivatives under mild and eco-friendly conditions is of continuing interest. Sulfonyl chlorides are still the best choice as starting materials for the preparation of target products. Here, we report a simple, efficient and eco-friendly method for the synthesis of sulfonamide and sulfonate carboxylic acid derivatives under green conditions using water and sodium carbonate as HCl scavengers to produce the products with high yields and purities. Two derivatives, 4-(tosyloxy)benzoic acid (5a) and 4-((4-methylphenyl)sulfonamido)benzoic acid (5b), were reacted with 2-morpholinoethan-1-amine under green conditions, where OxymaPure/diisopropylcarbodiimide (DIC) was used as a coupling reagent and 2-MeTHF as a solvent to give the target product with high yield and purity. nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and elemental analysis confirmed the structures of all obtained products. X-ray crystallography confirmed the structures of products 4b, 4c and 7a. The molecular packing of the three compounds (4b, 4c and 7a) was analyzed using Hirshfeld topology analysis. Mainly, H…O hydrogen bonding interactions dominated the packing. These methods of preparation and coupling merit further attention for the development of new derivatives that might have significant biological applications.

Abstract
This study provides a direct, sustainable and eco-friendly method for the synthesis of various sulfonamides via the sulfonylation of sulfonyl hydrazides with tert-amines. The method utilizes sulfonyl hydrazides to oxidize and couple with tertiary amines through selective cleavage of C–N bonds. In this reaction, molecular iodine was used as the catalyst and t-butyl hydroperoxide was used as the oxidant. Sustainable and eco-friendly method for the synthesis of various sulfonamides.![]()

Abstract
Silicon-containing compounds have been largely ignored in drug design and development, despite their potential to improve not only the potency but also the physicochemical and ADMET ( absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, toxicity) properties of drug-like candidates because of the unique characteristics of silicon. This deficiency is in large part attributable to a lack of general methods for synthesizing diverse organosilicon structures. Accordingly, a new building block strategy has been developed that diverges from traditional approaches to incorporation of silicon into drug candidates. Flexible, multi-gram-scale syntheses of silicon-containing tetrahydroquinoline and tetrahydroisoquinoline building blocks are described, along with methods by which diversely functionalized silicon-containing nitrogen heterocycles can be rapidly built using common reactions optimized to accommodate the properties of silicon. Furthermore, to better clarify the liabilities and advantages of silicon incorporation, select compounds and their carbon analogues were challenged in ADMET-focused biological studies.

Abstract
A rapid and eco-friendly synthesis of a sulfonamide library under flow conditions is described. The study illustrates an efficient, safe, and easily scalable preparation of sulfonamides by use of a meso-reactor apparatus, thus demonstrating the impact of flow technologies within drug discovery. Waste minimization, employment of green media, and nontoxic reactants are achieved by the optimization of the flow setup and experimental protocol designed to sequentially synthesize primary, secondary, and tertiary sulfonamides. Isolation of the products involves only extraction and precipitation affording pure compounds in good to high yields without further purification for biological evaluation.

Abstract
Rapid progress in the synthetic application of benzotriazole derivatives in the last 20 years has resulted in over 1000 scientific papers on the subject. This fact is reflected in Section 5.01.7, which involves almost a half of the volume of this chapter. The section is arranged according to hybridization of the C-α atom and atomic numbers of the atoms in positions β and γ to allow an easy access to the material of interest. Recent discovery of copper catalysis in [3+2] cycloadditions of azides to acetylenes, the so-called ‘click chemistry’, which boosted application of the 1,2,3-triazole derivatives, especially in medicinal chemistry, is presented in Section 5.01.9. From the point of view of practical applications, Section 5.01.11 is organized according to the number, position, and combination of the substituents at the aromatic rings. Another novel feature that has no precedence in the previous editions of Comprehensive Heterocyclic Chemistry is an addition of triazole and benzotriazole complexes with various transitions metals to Section 5.01.4.
