Abstract
Resonance Raman spectroscopy is an efficient tool for multiplex imaging because of the narrow bandwidth of the electronically enhanced vibrational signals. However, Raman signals are often overwhelmed by concurrent fluorescence. In this study, we synthesized a series of truxene-based conjugated Raman probes to show structure-specific Raman fingerprint patterns with a common 532 nm light source. The subsequent polymer dot (Pdot) formation of the Raman probes efficiently suppressed fluorescence via aggregation-induced quenching and improved the dispersion stability of particles without leakage of Raman probes or particle agglomeration for more than 1 year. Additionally, the Raman signal amplified by electronic resonance and increased probe concentration exhibited over 103 times higher relative Raman intensities versus 5-ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine, enabling successful Raman imaging. Finally, multiplex Raman mapping was demonstrated with a single 532 nm laser using six Raman-active and biocompatible Pdots as barcodes for live cells. Resonant Raman-active Pdots may suggest a simple, robust, and efficient way for multiplex Raman imaging using a standard Raman spectrometer, suggesting the broad applicability of our strategy.

Abstract
New 3D conformers were synthesized to show a nanomolecular configuration with geometrically branched 2-diphenylaminofluorene (DPAF-C2M) chromophores using a symmetrical 1,3,5-triaminobenzene ring as the center core for the connection of three fused DPAF-C2M moieties. The design led to a class of cis-cup-tris[(DPAF-C2M)-C60(>DPAF-C9)] 3D conformers with three bisadduct-analogous <C60> cages per nanomolecule facing at the same side of the geometrical molecular cis-cup-shape structure. A sequential synthetic route was described to afford this 3D configurated conformer in a high yield with various spectroscopic characterizations. In principle, a nanostructure with a non-coplanar 3D configuration in design should minimize the direct contact or π-stacking of fluorene rings with each other during molecular packing to the formation of fullerosome array. It may also prevent the self-quenching effect of its photoexcited states in solids. Photophysical properties of this cis-cup-conformer were also investigated.

Abstract
Optical properties of three types of terthiophene (3T) functionalized conjugated triarm (star-shaped) polymers consisting of poly(9,9-di-n-octyl-fluorene-2,7-vinylene) (PFV) arms and different [2,4,6-tri(biphenyl)benzene (TBP), 1,3,5-tri(benzyl)benzene (TBB), and triphenylamine (TPA)] cores, prepared by combined olefin metathesis with Wittig coupling, have been studied. Relative intensities [increases in the higher vibronic bands, (0, 1) fluorescence (FL)] of the fully conjugated TPA-core polymers, TPA(PFV-3T)3, in the fluorescence (FL) spectra in tetrahydrofuran (toluene) solution were higher than those in the other triarm polymers, TBP(PFV-3T)3, TBB(PFV-3T)3, whereas no significant differences were observed in their UV-vis spectra; notable temperature dependences were not observed in the UV-vis and FL spectra (at -5, 25, and 55 °C). Remarkable differences were not observed in the spectra in these polymer thin films, whereas λmax values red-shifted due to the formation of J-type aggregates. The observation for the time-resolved study well corresponds to results for the steady-state fluorescence measurements. The observed unique emission by the star-shaped (triarm) polymer containing the TPA core would be assumed to be due to a difference in nature of the core (higher coplanarity) compared to that of the others.

Abstract
A trichromophoric dyad composed of an octa-β-alkyl-palladium(II)porphyrin (donor) and two tri-meso-aryl-zinc(II)porphyrins (acceptors) held by a truxene spacer exhibits very fast rates for triplet energy transfers at 77 (kET(T1) = 1.63 × 108 s-1) and 298 K (kET(T1) = 3.44 × 108 s-1), whereas the corresponding singlet energy transfer rates, kET(S1) = 3.9 × 1010 s-1 (77 K) and kET(S1) = 6.0 × 1010 s-1 (298 K), are also considered fast. The interpretation for these results is that the energy transfer processes proceed via a through bond Dexter mechanism (i.e. double electron exchange) supported by comparison with literature data and evidence for a moderate MO coupling between the donor and acceptor chromophores in the frontier MOs.

Abstract
We report a truxene-based dyad built upon one donor (tri-meso-phenylzinc(II)porphyrin) and two acceptors (octa-β-alkylporphyrin free base) in which the donor exhibits free rotation around a Ctruxene-Cmeso single bond at 298 K in fluid solution but not at 77 K in a glass matrix, whereas the acceptors have very limited motion as they are blocked by β-methyl groups. This case is interesting because all the structural and spectroscopic parameters affecting the rate for singlet energy transfer according to a Förster Resonance Energy Transfer are only weakly temperature dependent, leaving only the Dexter mechanism explaining the larger variation in rate of energy transfers with the temperature hence providing a circumstantial evidence for a dual mechanism (Föster and Dexter) in truxene-based dyads (or polyads) in the S1 excited states.

Abstract
Four new [6,6]-phenyl-C(61) and C(71) butylsaure n-dibutyl amides (PCBDBA) with mono- and bis-adduction on C(60) and C(70) cages, respectively, have been synthesized as models to study the effect of the mono- and bis-adduction on fullerene cages on device performance when used as electron acceptors with the donor of regioregular P3HT in bulkheterojunction organic photovoltaics (BHJ-OPV). The optoelectronic, electrochemistry, and photovoltaic properties of these mono- and bis-products were fully investigated. The best device performance of these fullerene derivatives were obtained from the two monoadducts with power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 1.77% for C(60) derivative and 1.90% for C(70) derivative, respectively, which are close to PCBM's 2.43%. The results revealed the structure-function relationship among the monoadduct and bisadduct derivatives of C(60) and C(70) with the BHJ-OPV performance.

Abstract
The synthesis, optical properties, and energy transfer features of four dendrimers composed of meso-tetrasubstituted zinc(II) porphyrin (ZnP) or a free base (P) central core, where the substituents are four truxene (Tru) or four tritruxene dendrons (TriTru), TruP, TriTruP, TruZnP, and TriTruZnP, are reported. Selective excitation of the truxene donors results in a photoinduced singlet energy transfer from the truxenes to the porphyrin acceptor. The rates for singlet energy transfer (k(ET)), evaluated from the change in the fluorescence lifetime of the donors (Tru and TriTru) in the presence and absence of the acceptor (P or ZnP) for TruP, TruZnP, TriTruP, and TriTruZnP, are 5.9, 1.2, 0.87, and 0.74 (ns)(-1) at 298 K and 2.6, 2.6, 2.7, and 1.2 (ns)(-1) at 77 K, respectively. A slow triplet-triplet energy transfer from truxene to porphyrin cores in glassy 2MeTHF at 77 K is also reported with rates of 1.3 × 10(3) and 0.10 × 10(2) s(-1) for TruZnP and TriTruZnP, respectively. If the Dexter mechanism for the triplet energy transfers is considered, these slow rates are easily explained by a poor orbital overlap between the truxene and porphyrin π systems. The fluorescence quantum yields (Φ(F)) are 0.20 and 0.16 for TruP and TriTruP and 0.08 and 0.10 for TruZnP and TriTruZnP, respectively at 298 K. At 298 K, a phosphorescence from TruZnP at 795 nm was also observed and is associated with the ZnP chromophore.

Abstract
This review presents an overview of the most recent results in the field of conjugated oligomer covalently attached to the C60 sphere focusing mainly on donor–conjugated oligomer–C60 triads and conjugated oligomer–multifullerene materials. Well-defined monodisperse oligomers as new materials that exhibit interesting optoelectronic properties have been the subject of intense study during the last decade. In this regard, a huge amount of work has been devoted to the development of new synthetic strategies toward the synthesis of conjugated oligomeric materials with precise length and constitution and to their chemical functionalization in order to incorporate them into more complex molecular and supramolecular architectures. An important area of research in the field of conjugated oligomers involves the design and synthesis of donor–acceptor ensembles by combination of monodisperse π-conjugated oligomeric systems with C60 fullerene. Such hybrid systems have shown excited-state interactions making them excellent candidates for fundamental photophysical studies. In addition, these materials have found applications in the field of photovoltaic devices. A review with 70 references.
