Abstract
AbstractThe reaction of 1,3-bis(silyloxy)-1,3-butadienes with functionalized and nonfunctionalized acid chlorides and bis(acid chlorides) gives rise to the formation of a great variety of 1,3,5-tri- and 1,3,5,7-tetracarbonyl compounds and cyclic products derived from them. Examples include functionalized and nonfunctionalized 3,5-dioxopentanoates, 3,5-dioxopimelates, 3-alkylidene-3H-isobenzofuran-1-ones, salicylates, 3(2H)furanones, and 3-oxo-4-sulfonylesters. Methylation and cyclopropanation reactions of 1,3,5-tri- and 1,3,5,7-tetracarbonyl compounds do not provide access to the expected permethylated and cyclopropanated polycarbonyl compounds. However, the latter could be prepared by stepwise protocols. Abstract
Herein, we report the fluorination of α-branched β-ynone esters to afford their corresponding quaternary fluorinated products with good enantioselectivity (ee = 73-90%) using a cinchona-based phase-transfer catalyst. α-Branched β-ynone esters possess a highly acidic α-proton and form their corresponding enolate as a single isomer, which allows the enantioselective fluorination reaction to occur under standard cinchona-based phase-transfer catalyst conditions. Moreover, the obtained α-fluorinated product can be treated with [(SPhos)AuNTf2] (1 mol %) to afford a fluorinated 3,5-diketo carboxylic acid.

Abstract
Novel and efficient synthesis of diverse γ,δ-unsaturated β-ketoesters was accomplished by thermal cascade reactions of diazodicarbonyl compounds with enol ethers and the synthesized compounds were further transformed into the corresponding 3,5-diketoesters.

Abstract
The synthesis of 1- and 2-cinnamoyloxyacetonaphthones was achieved in one step using hydroxyl acetonaphthones and substituted cinnamic acids in the presence of a catalytic amount of phosphoroxychloride. Structural characterization was accomplished using high-resolution nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. Chemical shifts of the compounds were compared and the change in the chemical shifts relative to electron-donating and -withdrawing groups is presented. Introduction of a thiophene ring instead of phenyl-substituted analogs caused shielding of the olefinic proton.

Abstract
A variety of 3,5-dioxopimelic acid diesters, stable 1,3,5,7-tetracarbonyl derivatives, were prepared by catalytic condensation of 1,3-bis(trimethylsilyloxy)-1,3-butadienes with methyl malonyl chloride. The keto-enol tautomerization of these compounds has been investigated by NMR spectroscopy. One keto and up to four enolic tautomers could be detected in chloroform solution and the influence of the substituents on the tautomeric equilibria has been studied.

Abstract
We developed an efficient, practical, robust method for the regio- and stereoselective preparation of (E)-ketene trimethylsilyl acetals (KSAs) derived from tert-butyl esters 1. The reaction was performed under convenient reaction conditions; LDA-TMSCl, 0-5 degrees C, and cyclopentyl methyl ether (CPME) solvent. Two kinds of (Z)- and (E)-KSAs derived from alpha-oxygen and alpha-nitrogen-substituted tert-butyl esters, respectively, were also obtained in good yield. The present protocol was successfully applied to a stereocontrolled preparation of useful, but highly reactive (less accessible) beta-ketoester-derived tert-butyl (1Z,3E)-1,3-bis(TMS)dienol ethers 2.
