Abstract
A Na2CO3-promoted reaction of β-ketothioamides (KTAs) and cyanoacetates was developed for the synthesis of pyrrole disulfides using air as a green oxidant. This protocol features a broad substrate scope and mild reaction conditions. Preliminary mechanistic studies indicate that the reaction involves a tandem unusual umpolung of KTAs, N-cyclization, tautomerization and oxidative coupling process.

Abstract
Indenocarbothioamides 2, obtained from reaction of indane-1,3-dione with aryl isothiocyanates, on condensation with 3-chloropentane-2,4-dione and chloroacetyl chloride furnished 1,3-indanedione coupled thiazole and thiazolidin-5-one derivatives, respectively. The structure of the obtained products was assigned on the basis of spectral data (IR, NMR and Mass). Prototropic tautomerism studies of carbothioamides 2 were carried out in solution (1H NMR, 13C NMR and UV-vis), gas phase (Mass) and solid state (IR and X-ray). X-ray diffraction studies of carbothioamide 2a have revealed the existence of enolic form in the solid state. DFT studies of various possible tautomeric forms in gas phase as well as in solution state corroborated by the experimental results. Antibacterial studies of indenothiazole and indenothiazolidin-5-one derivatives have been reported.

Abstract
A suitable and effective Q-tube-assisted strategy for the synthesis of novel, unrivalled thiochromeno[4,3-b]pyridine and chromeno[4,3-b]pyridine derivatives has been sophisticated, which includes ammonium acetate-mediated cyclocondensation reactions between 3-oxo-2-arylhydrazonopropanals and heterobenzocyclic ketones such as thiochroman-4-one and chroman-4-one, respectively. The high-pressure Q-tube reactor was shown to be superior to conventional heating. Furthermore, this Q-tube reactor-assisted protocol is safe owing to facile pressing and sealing, a broad substrate scope, and simple work-up and purification processes, as well as being scalable and having a high atom economy. The proposed mechanistic route includes two sequential dehydrative stages. In this investigation, X-ray crystallographic analysis was performed to authenticate the targeted products.

Abstract
Magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs) composed of γ-Fe2O3 and hydroxyapatite (HAp) were modified by hexamethylen-1,6-diisocyanate (HMDI) followed by thiourea dioxide and used as recyclable catalyst for the synthesis of some newly derivatives of chromeno[2,3-b]pyridine. The products were synthesized in excellent yields via one-pot three-component reactions of 3-cyano-6-hydroxy-4-methyl-pyridin-2(1H)-one with aldehydes and dimedone under solvent-free conditions. The successful synthesis of products were confirmed using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), proton/carbon nuclear magnetic resonance (1H/13C NMR), and mass spectroscopies as well as physical data (e.g., melting points and elemental composition). The in vitro antioxidant and antifungal activities of the synthesized samples were evaluated using scavenging effects on 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical and potato dextrose agar (PDA) medium, respectively. Based on results, the chromeno[2,3-b]pyridine derivatives exhibited excellent biological activities that qualified them for biomedical applications.

Abstract
A series of ( E)- N-aryl-4 H-thiochromen-4-imines has been conveniently obtained through a cascade reaction between o-bromobenzothioamides and terminal alkynes. This novel approach probably involved an initial generation of benzothietane-2-imine intermidates via an intramolecular Ullmann reaction under CuI/L-proline cocatalysis and alkaline conditions followed by imine alkynylation, ring opening, and cyclization sequences to provide the unexpected 4 H-thiochromen-4-imines rather than isothiochromans.

Abstract
A concise, efficient one-pot synthesis of functionalized chromeno[4,3-b]pyridine derivatives via a three-component reaction of 4-oxo-4H-chromene-3-carbaldehydes, malononitrile or cyanoacetates, and aromatic amines under catalyst-free conditions in an environmentally friendly medium (ethanol-water, 3:1 v/v) is described. This synthesis involves a group-assisted purification process, which avoids traditional recrystallization and chromatographic purification methods.

Abstract

Abstract
A concise and direct synthetic strategy for the construction of 2-aryliminochromene skeleton by cascade three-component coupling reaction of arynes, N,S-keteneacetals, and DMF in good yields has been disclosed. The process demonstrates the first example of aryne chemistry combined with N,S-keteneacetals. Using this strategy, an expeditious synthesis of biologically important arylimino-2H-chromene-3- carboxamides was achieved.

Abstract
A highly efficient, chemoselective synthesis of a library of polysubstituted pyrroles and tetrahydropyridines has been achieved through the one-pot, multicomponent reactions of ethyl (E)-3-(aryl/alkyl amino) acrylates, 2,2-dihydroxy-1-arylethan-1-ones, and malononitrile under solvent- and catalyst-free grinding conditions. The selective formation of pyrrole or tetrahydropyridines relied on substitution of the N-aryl of ethyl (E)-3-(4-arylamino) acrylates. These reactions presumably occurred via a domino Knoevenagel condensation and Michael addition followed by an intramolecular cyclization sequence of reactions in a single transformation.

Abstract
A simple and efficient one-pot construction of pyrazolo[3,4-e]indolizine derivatives via a diethylamine-catalyzed three-component domino reaction of arylglyoxals, cyclic 1,3-diones, and 5-aminopyrazoles under microwave irradiation is described. In this one-pot transformation, seven bonds and two new rings are efficiently formed. This synthesis was confirmed to follow the group-assisted-purification (GAP) chemistry process, which can avoid traditional recrystallization or chromatography purification methods.

Abstract
An efficient and regioselective synthesis of novel functionalized dispiropyrrolizidine derivatives via a three-component [3 + 2] cycloaddition reaction of azomethine ylides is described. This protocol has the advantages of high efficiency, mild reaction conditions, a one-pot procedure, and convenient operation. Many of these compounds were evaluated for their antiproliferative properties in vitro against cancer cells and several compounds were found to have good activities.

Abstract
A facile and efficient one-pot procedure for the preparation of functionalized dihydro-1H-indol-4(5H)-ones by a catalyst-free, three-component reaction of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds, arylglyoxal monohydrate and enaminones under mild conditions in excellent yield is reported. This synthesis was confirmed to follow the group-assisted-purification (GAP) chemistry process, which can avoid traditional purifications, chromatography, and recrystallization.
