Abstract
A straightforward strategy toward the efficient synthesis of linear saturated polyamines containing 1,2-diaminoethane and/or 1,3-diaminopropane fragments has been developed. The procedure is based on the chemistry of 5- and 6-membered cyclic amidines, including their efficient synthesis from nitrile precursors and subsequent chemoselective reductive-opening by a borane-dimethyl sulfide complex. This two-step procedure provides a robust methodology for the synthesis of linear polyamine skeletons under nonharsh conditions and free of using selective protective groups or tedious workups.

Abstract
AbstractTrifluoromethanesulfonic anhydride (Tf2O) is utilized as a strong electrophilic activator in a wide range of applications in synthetic organic chemistry, leading to the transient generation of a triflate intermediate. This versatile triflate intermediate undergoes nucleophilic trapping with diverse nucleophiles to yield novel compounds. In this review, we describe the features and applications of triflic anhydride in organic synthesis reported in the past decade, especially in amide, sulfoxide, and phosphorus oxide chemistry through electrophilic activation. Abstract
Although alcohols are one of the largest pools of alkyl substrates, approaches to utilize them in cross-coupling and cross-electrophile coupling are limited. We report the use of 1° and 2° alcohols in cross-electrophile coupling with aryl and vinyl halides to form C(sp3)-C(sp2) bonds in a one-pot strategy utilizing a very fast (<1 min) bromination. The reaction's simple benchtop setup and broad scope (42 examples, 56% ± 15% ave yield) facilitates use at all scales. The potential in parallel synthesis applications was demonstrated by successfully coupling all combinations of 8 alcohols with 12 aryl cores in a 96-well plate.

Abstract
A convenient method for the synthesis of 2-oxo-acetamidines from methyl ketones using aromatic amines and DMF as nitrogen sources is reported via copper-catalyzed C(sp3)-H amidination. Various methyl ketones react readily with aromatic amines and DMF, producing 2-oxo-acetamidines in yields of 47 to 92%. This protocol features the simultaneous formation of C-N and C[double bond, length as m-dash]N bonds using DMF and aromatic amines as two different nitrogen sources. It thus provides an efficient approach to construct acyclic amidines via three C(sp3)-H bond amidination. Based on the preliminary experiments, a plausible mechanism of this transformation is disclosed.
