Abstract
A ruthenium-catalysed arene ortho C-H amidation of 4-aryl-pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives with acyl azides or phosphoryl azides as the nitrogen sources toward C-N bond formation was developed. This protocol could offer a novel and direct approach to access a series of amidated and phosphoramidated pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives in moderate to good yields, thereby evading the general Curtius rearrangement. The protocol features significant functional group tolerance and a single-step process, with the release of only innocuous molecular nitrogen as the byproduct.

Abstract
Transition-metal catalyzed C-H activation reactions have been proven to be useful methodologies for the assembly of synthetically meaningful molecules. This approach bears intrinsic peculiarities that are important to be studied and comprehended in order to achieve its best performance. One example is the use of additives for the in situ generation of catalytically active species. This strategy varies according to the type of additive and the nature of the pre-catalyst that is being used. Thus, silver(I)-salts have proven to play an important role, due to the resulting high reactivity derived from the pre-catalysts of the main transition metals used so far. While being powerful and versatile, the use of silver-based additives can raise concerns, since superstoichiometric amounts of silver(I)-salts are typically required. Therefore, it is crucial to first understand the role of silver(I) salts as additives, in order to wisely overcome this barrier and shift towards silver-free systems.

Abstract
A systematic study on the iodine-mediated phosphoramidation reaction of amines and trialkyl phosphites was conducted, which not only disclosed the factors affecting the reaction but also revealed that it could proceed smoothly in CH2Cl2 at room temperature in open air. Using this method, various phosphoramidates with different aliphatic amines and aromatic amines were synthesized in good to excellent yields. Our present investigation shows that this underused method is actually a mild, practical and general way to synthesize phosphoramidates and will have wide applications.

Abstract
Synthesis of intermediate containing P(O)-Cl bonds is the key to converting P(O)-H bonds to P(O)-N. In this work we have performed chlorination reactions of different H-phosphinates and H-phosphonates using N-chlorosuccinimide as an environmentally-benign chlorinating agent. The chlorination reaction showed high yield and high selectivity for transformation of P(O)-H bonds into P(O)-Cl analogues, resulting in an easily separable succinimide as the by-product. Using a one-pot synthesis methodology, we have synthesized a series of P(O)-N containing derivatives whose synthesis was found to be dependent on the reaction solvents and the starting materials. The synthesized P(O)-N compounds were incorporated in flexible polyurethane foam (FPUF) and screened for their influence in thermal decomposition of FPUFs using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and a microscale combustion calorimeter (MCC). All solid P(O)-N compounds influenced the first-stage decomposition of FPUFs, which resulted in an accelerated decomposition or temporary stabilization of this stage. However, the liquid P(O)-N derivatives volatilize at an earlier stage and could be active in the gas phase. In addition, they also work in condensed phase via acid catalyzed decomposition for FPUFs.

Abstract
The hydroxyl groups of a 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) ligand near the metal center activated the catalytic performance of the Ir complex for the dehydrogenation of formic acid at high pressure. The position of the hydroxyl groups on the ligand affected the catalytic durability for the high-pressure H2 generation through the decomposition of formic acid. The Ir complex with a bipyridine ligand functionalized with para-hydroxyl groups shows a good durability with a constant catalytic activity during the reaction even under high-pressure conditions, whereas deactivation was observed for an Ir complex with a bipyridine ligand with ortho-hydroxyl groups (2). In the presence of high-pressure H2 , complex 2 decomposed into the ligand and an Ir trihydride complex through the isomerization of the bpy ligand. This work provides the development of a durable catalyst for the high-pressure H2 production from formic acid.

Abstract
Catalytic transformation of ubiquitous C-H bonds into valuable C-N bonds offers an efficient synthetic approach to construct N-functionalized molecules. Over the last few decades, transition metal catalysis has been repeatedly proven to be a powerful tool for the direct conversion of cheap hydrocarbons to synthetically versatile amino-containing compounds. This Review comprehensively highlights recent advances in intra- and intermolecular C-H amination reactions utilizing late transition metal-based catalysts. Initial discovery, mechanistic study, and additional applications were categorized on the basis of the mechanistic scaffolds and types of reactions. Reactivity and selectivity of novel systems are discussed in three sections, with each being defined by a proposed working mode.

Abstract
A copper-catalyzed intramolecular amidation of unactivated C(sp(3) )-H bonds to construct indoline derivatives has been developed. Such an amidation proceeded well at primary C-H bonds preferred to secondary C-H bonds. The transformation owned a broad substrate scope. The corresponding indolines were obtained in good to excellent yields. N-Formal and other carbonyl groups were suitable and were easily deprotected and transformed into methyl or long-chained alkyl groups. Preliminary mechanistic studies suggested a radical pathway.

Abstract
Mechanistic investigations on the Cp*Rh(III)-catalyzed direct C-H amination reaction led us to reveal the new utility of 1,4,2-dioxazol-5-one and its derivatives as highly efficient amino sources. Stepwise analysis on the C-N bond-forming process showed that competitive binding of rhodium metal center to amidating reagent or substrate is closely related to the reaction efficiency. In this line, 1,4,2-dioxazol-5-ones were observed to have a strong affinity to the cationic Rh(III) giving rise to dramatically improved amidation efficiency when compared to azides. Kinetics and computational studies suggested that the high amidating reactivity of 1,4,2-dioxazol-5-one can also be attributed to the low activation energy of an imido-insertion process in addition to the high coordination ability. While the characterization of a cationic Cp*Rh(III) complex bearing an amidating reagent was achieved, its facile conversion to an amido-inserted rhodacycle allowed for a clear picture on the C-H amidation process. The newly developed amidating reagent of 1,4,2-dioxazol-5-ones was applicable to a broad range of substrates with high functional group tolerance, releasing carbon dioxide as a single byproduct. Additional attractive features of this amino source, such as they are more convenient to prepare, store, and use when compared to the corresponding azides, take a step closer toward an ideal C-H amination protocol.
