Abstract
A highly efficient asymmetric Michael addition of bulky glycine imine to α,β-unsaturated isoxazoles has been achieved by using 5 mol% of chiral cyclopropenimine as a chiral organo-superbase catalyst under mild conditions. Michael adducts were obtained in excellent yields (up to 97%) and stereoselectivities (up to>99 : 1 dr and 98% ee). A significant solvent effect was found in these chiral organosuperbase catalyzed asymmetric Michael reactions. Gram-scale preparation of Michael adducts and their transformations are realized to provide corresponding products without loss of stereoselectivities. The configurations of Michael adduct was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.

Abstract
We report a new method for the synthesis of indolines from o-aminobenzylidine N-tosylhydrazones proceeding through a cobalt(III)-carbene radical intermediate. This methodology employs the use of inexpensive commercially available reagents and allows for the transformation of easily derivatized benzaldehyde-derived precursors to functionalized indoline products. This transformation takes advantage of the known propensity of radicals to undergo rapid intramolecular 1,5-hydrogen atom transfer (1,5-HAT) to form more stabilized radical intermediates. Computational investigations using density functional theory identify remarkably low barriers for 1,5-HAT and subsequent radical rebound displacement, providing support for the proposed mechanism. We explore the effect of a variety of nitrogen substituents, and highlight the importance of adequate resonance stabilization of radical intermediates to the success of the transformation. Furthermore, we evaluate the steric and electronic effects of substituents on the aniline ring. This transformation is the first reported example of the synthesis of nitrogen-containing heterocycles from cobalt(III)-carbene radical precursors.

Abstract
An efficient diastereoselective rhodium catalyzed synthesis of indolines possessing two contiguous tetrasubstituted carbon centers has been achieved with good to excellent yields using ortho-vinylanilines and iminocarbenes derived from N-sulfonyl-1,2,3-triazoles.
The reaction affords excellent cis-diastereoselectivity through the initial formation of a N-ylide followed by intramolecular trapping with unactivated alkenes via an ene-type reaction with a well-organized transition state, namely intramolecular carbenylative amination of alkenes. The developed transformation was further extended to the successful synthesis of tricyclic compounds, imidazoindolines, through reduction and hypervalent iodine mediated oxidative cyclization.

Abstract
The enantioselective formation of stereocenters proximal to unprotected heterocycles has been accomplished. Thus, vinyl boronic acids are added to heterocycle-appended enones via a modified-BINOL catalyst. Catalyst design was key to enable a general reaction. High yields and useful er's are observed for a host of common heteroaryls.

Abstract
An enantioselective addition of alkenylboronic acids and alkynylboronic esters to unprotected indole-appended enones is reported. This transformation proceeds with high enantioselectivity and high product yields via the use of catalytic amounts of 3,3'-bis(pentafluorophenyl)-BINOL and Mg(Ot-Bu)(2). A range of α-branched indole derivatives are available from the transformation.

Abstract
A highly efficient one-pot procedure for the synthesis of indolines and their homologues based on a domino Cu-catalyzed amidation/nucleophilic substitution reaction has been developed. Substituted 2-iodophenethyl mesylates and related compounds afforded the corresponding products in excellent yields. No erosion of optical purity was observed when transforming enantiomerically pure mesylates under the reaction conditions.
