Abstract
Here, we demonstrated a transition metal-mediated/monophosphorus ligand system for the selective synthesis of ketones or chiral allylic alcohols in high yields/enantiomeric excess from the 1,2-addition of arylboronic acids to α,β-unsaturated aldehydes. Notably, isomerization of the chiral allylic alcohols to ketones was suppressed by the Ru-catalyzed/monophosphorus ligand system. The asymmetric catalytic system provides an alternative and efficient method of preparing chiral allylic alcohols.

Abstract
This study shows that various di- and tri-substituted alkenes with high chemoselectivity were obtained in good to high yields by coupling N-tosylhydrazones (NTHs) with benzylic phosphates as electrophilic partners. The obtained new catalytic system consisted of PdCl2(CH3CN)2/dppp, LiOtBu as a base, and cyclopentyl methyl ether as a green solvent. In addition, we performed a gram-scale transformation using NTH derivatives and benzylic phosphates having a C sp2-Cl bond. The latter was used as a starting point for further postfunctionalization of the key intermediates.

Abstract
The reaction of diazo(aryl)methyl(diaryl)phosphine oxides with aldehydes and ketones generates benzo-δ-phosphinolactones in low to good yields with 1,1-diarylalk-1-enes as byproducts under microwave irradiation. Diazo(aryl)methyl(diaryl)phosphine oxides first undergo a Wolff rearrangement to form diaryl(aryl)phosphenes, which further react with aldehydes and ketones to afford benzo-δ-phosphinolactones and β-phosphinolactones. The latter are unstable under heating and fragment into the corresponding 1,1-diarylalk-1-enes and arylphosphine dioxides under reaction conditions. The arylphosphine dioxides become arylphosphonic acids during workup. The periselectivity in the annulation shows that the reaction of diaryl(aryl)phosphenes with most aldehydes and ketones favors phosphene phenyl participation in (4 + 2) annulation over (2 + 2) annulation.

Abstract
A classic strategy of physical organic chemists is to probe reaction mechanisms using linear free energy relationships. Identifying such relationships in asymmetric catalytic reactions provides substantial insight into the key factors controlling enantioselectivity, which in turn increases the predictability and applicability of these reactions. The focus of this JOCSynopsis is to highlight several recent examples in which various parameters were identified and applied to the elucidation of LFERs.

Abstract
The first catalytic enantioselective synthesis of oxaziridines is presented. The oxidation of aryl and alkyl aldimines with m-CPBA under organocatalytic conditions using cinchona alkaloid-derived catalysts furnished optically active oxaziridines in good yields and high enantioselectivities (up to 94% ee). Mechanistic investigations indicate a stepwise enantioselective oxidation process.

Abstract
Tandem methods for the catalytic asymmetric preparation of enantioenriched β-hydroxy (E)-enamines and aminocyclopropanes are presented. The diastereoselective hydrogenation of enantioenriched (E)-trisubstituted hydroxy enamines to generate 1,2-disubstituted-1,3-amino alcohols is also outlined. These methods are initiated by highly regioselective hydroboration of N-tosyl-substituted ynamides with diethylborane to generate β-amino alkenyl boranes. In situ boron-to-zinc transmetalation generates β-amino alkenylzinc reagents. These functionalized vinylzinc intermediates are subsequently added to aldehydes in the presence of a catalyst derived from an enantioenriched amino alcohol (morpholino isoborneol, MIB). The catalyst promotes highly enantioselective C-C bond formation to provide β-hydroxy enamines in good isolated yields (68-86%) with 54-98% enantioselectivity. The intermediate zinc β-alkoxy enamines can be subjected to a tandem cyclopropanation to afford aminocyclopropyl carbinols with three continuous stereocenters in a one-pot procedure with good yields (72-82%), enantioselectivities of 76-94%, and >20:1 diastereomeric ratios. Diastereoselective hydrogenation of isolated enantioenriched β-hydroxy enamines over Pd/C furnished syn-1,2-disubstituted-1,3-amino alcohols in high yields (82-90%) with moderate to excellent diastereoselectivities. These methods were used in an efficient preparation of the enantioenriched precursor to PRC200-SS derivatives, which are potent serotonin-norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitors.

Abstract
A new tris(1-benzyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methanol ligand 3 has been prepared by a triple Cu(I)-catalyzed alkyne-azide 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition (CuAAC). Ligand 3 forms a stable complex with CuCl, which catalyzes the Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition on water or under neat conditions. Low catalyst loadings, short reaction times at room temperature, and compatibility with free amino groups make 3.CuCl an outstanding catalyst for CuAAC.
