Abstract
A novel organobase-catalyzed umpolung reaction of amides was disclosed. This method provides an efficient method to generate and transfer carbamoyl anions. In this transformation, some of the inherent disadvantages of carbamoyl metal were avoided. The mechanistic analysis revealed that the reaction proceeds through polarity inversion of amide, and various carbamoyl anions were applied in the reaction. Moreover, a wide range of substrates was achieved with moderate to excellent yield.

Abstract
Polystyrene-supported palladium (Pd@PS) nanoparticles (NPs) have been used to catalyze the aminocarbonylation of aryl halides with amines using oxalic acid as a CO source for the first-time for the synthesis of amides. Furthermore, o-iodoacetophenones participated in amidation and cyclization reactions to give isoindolinones in a single step following a concerted approach. Oxalic acid has been used as a safe, environmentally benign and operationally simple ex situ sustainable CO source under double-layer-vial (DLV) system for different aminocarbonylation reactions. Catalyst stability under a CO environment is a challenging task, however, Pd@PS was found to be recyclable and applicable for a vast substrate scope avoiding regeneration steps. Easy handling of oxalic acid, additive and base-free CO generation, catalyst stability and effortless catalyst separation from the reaction mixture by filtration and introduce of DLV are the added advantages to make the overall process a sustainable approach.

Abstract
Direct oxidation of α-CH2 group of free amines is hard to achieve due to the higher reactivity of amine moiety. Therefore, oxidation of amines involves the use of sophisticated metallic reagents/catalyst in the presence or absence of hazardous oxidants under sensitive reaction conditions. A novel method for direct C-H oxygenation of aliphatic amines through a metal-free activation of molecular oxygen has been developed. Both activated and unactivated free amines were oxygenated efficiently to provide a wide variety of amides (primary, secondary) and lactams under operationally simple conditions without the aid of metallic reagents and toxic oxidants. The method has been applied to the synthesis of highly functionalized amide-containing medicinal drugs, such as O-Me-alibendol and -buclosamide.

Abstract
A mechanistic investigation using Becke3LYP density functional theory (DFT) was carried out on the palladium-catalyzed amidition of bromobenzene and (t)Bu-isocyanide. The whole catalytic cycle consists of five steps: oxidative addition, migratory insertion, anion exchange, reductive elimination, and hydrogen migration. The rate-determining step is oxidative addition, with a small Gibbs free energy of 14.6 kcal mol(-1). In the migratory insertion step, (t)Bu-isocyanide provides an important source of carboxy and amino groups to establish the amide group. For anion exchange, path 1a is suggested as the most favorable pathway with the help of the base, and water provides a source of oxygen which is perfectly in line with experimental observations. Finally, in the hydrogen migration step, we illustrate that the six-membered ring path is energetically favored due to the assisting influence of water. In addition, our calculations indicate that using dimethyl sulfoxide as a solvent does not change the rate-determining step.

Abstract
A new and efficient method for the synthesis of amides via palladium-catalyzed C-C coupling of aryl halides with isocyanides is reported, by which a series of amides were formed from readily available starting materials under mild conditions. This transformation could extend its use to the synthesis of natural products and significant pharmaceuticals.

Abstract
A simple method for the synthesis of amides has been developed by molybdenum-mediated carbamoylation of aryl halides. Whereas the conventional palladium-catalyzed three-component coupling reaction requires a large excess of gaseous carbon monoxide, the incorporation of carbon monoxide in this Mo-mediated carbamoylation reaction is so efficient that it requires only a slight excess amount of carbon monoxide in the form of its molybdenum complex, Mo(CO)(6). The reaction is applicable for the synthesis of a wide variety of not only secondary and tertiary amides but also primary amides by using aqueous ammonia.
