Abstract
Cyclodextrin molecular tube (CDMT), a new comer of cyclodextrin family, possesses large and hydrophilic outer area and stable structure. Its development and applications remain highly desired, especially in the field of separation and enrichment. Herein, we developed a CDMT-based enrichment platform focusing on the specific capture of glycopeptides. To enhance the hydrophilicity of CDMT, it was functionalized with glutamate (glu). The prepared gluCDMT exhibited large hydrophilic surface, high stability, and good acidic/alkalic resistance. A solid monolithic support was employed to immobilize gluCDMT by a host-guest self-assembly synthetic strategy, which did not occupy the surface hydrophilic sites. The gluCDMT-based monolith exhibited high binding capacity (∼50 mg g-1), good ability to capture glycopeptides (23 HRP glycopeptides and 28 IgG glycopeptides), and high selectivity (horseradish peroxidase/bovine serum albumin = 1:10 000). Moreover, the developed platform was successfully applied to analyze glycopetides in acute myelogenous leukemia cell lysate and human serum samples.

Abstract
The purpose of the present work was to study the effect of the adsorbate–adsorbate interaction energy for the glycine/Cu(110) system using a Monte Carlo simulation in the grand canonical ensemble. The dependence of the surface pattern structures upon the temperature and diffusion rate was studied. For either reversible or irreversible adsorption, the results showed that it is possible to obtain condensed phases with a large degree of correlation for high diffusion rates and temperatures. Depending on the set of interaction energies for nearest- and next-nearest-neighbour molecules, these patterns form either hetero- or homo-chiral footprint domains. The results obtained are qualitatively consistent with the experimental pattern observed by other authors and allow an interpretation of the different proposed theoretical models used to explain experimental data.

Abstract
Epoxy-terminated polydimethylsiloxanes (E-PDMSs) of different molecular weight Mn were proved to undergo inclusion complexation into the inner cavity of β-cyclodextrin (β-CD), resulting in polyrotaxanes (PRots). The dethreading of the macrocycle was prevented by blocking the siloxane chain with a bulky substituent derived from 4-aminophenyltriphenyl methane (APhTPhM). As revealed by thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), wide-angle X-ray diffraction and statistical analysis of SEM images, the thermal properties and the morphology of polyrotoxanes are dependent upon Mn, β-CD/E-PDMS molar ratio and the presence of free β-CD in the complexes.

Abstract
The TiO2 photocatalytic one-electron oxidation mechanism of aromatic sulfides with a methylene bridging group (-(CH2)n-, n=0-4) between the 4-(methylthio)phenyl chromophore and the carboxylate binding group on the surface of a TiO2 powder slurried in acetonitrile (MeCN) has been investigated by time-resolved diffuse reflectance (TDR) spectroscopy. The electronic coupling element (H(DA)) between the hole donor and acceptor, which was estimated from the spectroscopic characteristics of the charge transfer (CT) complexes of the substrates (S) and the TiO2 surface, exhibited an exponential decline with the increasing of the methylene number of S. The determined decay factor (beta) of 9 nm(-1) also supports the fact that the 4-(methylthio)phenyl chromophore is separated from the TiO2 surface. The efficiency of the one-electron oxidation of S adsorbed on the TiO2 surface, which was determined from the relationship between the amount of adsorbates and the concentration of the generated radical cations, significantly depended on the H(DA) value, but not on the oxidation potential of S determined in homogeneous solution.

Abstract
Over the last decade isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) has developed from a specialist method which was largely restricted in its use to dedicated experts, to a major, commercially available tool in the arsenal directed at understanding molecular interactions. The number of those proficient in this field has multiplied dramatically, as has the range of experiments to which this method has been applied. This has led to an overwhelming amount of new data and novel applications to be assessed. With the increasing number of publications in this field comes a need to highlight works of interest and impact. In this overview of the literature we have attempted to draw attention to papers and issues for which both the experienced calorimetrist and the interested dilettante hopefully will share our enthusiasm.
