Crystal structure and optical characterization of a new hybrid compound, C 6H 9N 2FeCl 4, with large dielectric constants for field-effect transistors. RSC Adv 2023; 13:12844-12862. Abstract
Due to remarkable dielectric features, such as a large dielectric constant, strong electrical conductivity, high capacitance, and low dielectric loss, hybrid materials have lately seen a huge number of applications in the field of optoelectronics. These are critical characteristics that qualify the performance of optoelectronic devices, particularly field-effect transistor components (FETs). Here, the hybrid compound 2-amino-5-picoline tetrachloroferrate(iii) (2A5PFeCl4) was synthesised by using the slow evaporation solution growth method at room temperature. Structural, optical, and dielectric properties have been investigated. The 2A5PFeCl4 compound crystallises in the monoclinic system (P21/c space group). Its structure can be described as a successive layering of inorganic and organic parts. [FeCl4]- tetrahedral anions and 2-amino-5-picolinium cations are connected by N-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. The optical absorption measurement confirms the semiconductor nature with a band gap of around 2.47 eV. Additionally, the structural and electronic properties of the title compound have been investigated theoretically through DFT calculations. At low frequencies, this material has significant dielectric constants (ε ∼106). Furthermore, the high electrical conductivity, low dielectric loss at high frequencies, and high capacitance show that this new material has great dielectric potential in FET technologies. Due to their high permittivity, these compounds can be employed as gate dielectrics.

Abstract
Experimental FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 2-methylphenylacetic acid (MPA) were recorded and theoretical values are also analyzed. The non-linear optical (NLO) properties were evaluated by determination of first (5.5053×10-30 e.s.u.) and second hyper-polarizabilities (7.6833×10-36 e.s.u.) of the title compound. The Multiwfn package is used to find the weak non-covalent interaction (Van der Wall interaction) and strong repulsion (steric effect) of the molecule and examined by reduced density gradient. The molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) analysis used to find the most reactive sites for the electrophilic and nucleophilic attack. The chemical activity (electronegativity, hardness, chemical softness and chemical potential) of the title compound was predicted with the help of HOMO-LUMO energy values. The natural bond orbital (NBO) has been analyzed the stability of the molecule arising from the hyper-conjugative interaction. DSSCs were discussed in structural modifications that improve the electron injection efficiency of the title compound (MPA). The Fukui functions are calculated in order to get information associated with the local reactivity properties of the title compound. The binding sites of the two receptors were reported by molecular docking field and active site bond distance is same 1.9Å. The inhibitor of the title compound forms a stable complex with 1QYV and 2H1K proteins at the binding energies are -5.38 and -5.85 (∆G in kcal/mol).

Abstract
A series of carbazole-thiophene dimers,P1–P9, were synthesized using Suzuki-Miyaura and Ullmann coupling reactions. InP1–P9, carbazole-thiophenes were linked at the N-9 position for different core groups via biphenyl, dimethylbiphenyl, and phenyl. Electronic properties were evaluated by UV-Vis, cyclic voltammogram, and theoretical calculations. Particularly, the effects of conjugation connectivity on photophysical and electrochemical properties, as well as the correlation between carbazole-thiophene and the core, were studied. Carbazole connecting with thiophenes at the 3,6-positions and the phenyl group as a core group leads to increased stabilization of HOMO and LUMO energy levels where the bandgap (ΔE) is significantly reduced.

Abstract
The optimized molecular structure, vibrational frequencies, corresponding vibrational assignments of 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-4,5-dimethyl-1H-imidazole 3-oxide have been investigated experimentally and theoretically. Gauge-including atomic orbital (1)H NMR chemical shifts calculations were carried out and compared with experimental data. The HOMO and LUMO analysis is used to determine the charge transfer within the molecule. The stability of the molecule arising from hyper-conjugative interaction and charge delocalization has been analyzed using NBO analysis. The calculated geometrical parameters are in agreement with that of similar derivatives. Molecular electrostatic potential was performed by the DFT method. Mulliken's net charges have been calculated and compared with the atomic natural charges. First and second hyperpolarizability are calculated in order to find its role in non-linear optics. Molecular docking is also reported.

Abstract
In this work, the vibrational spectral analysis was carried out using FT-IR and FT-Raman spectroscopy of 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4,5-dimethyl-1H-imidazole 3-oxide. The computations were performed at DFT levels of theory to get the optimized geometry and vibrational frequencies of the normal modes of the title compound using Gaussian09 software. The complete vibrational assignments of frequencies were made on the basis of potential energy distribution. The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies show the chemical activity of the molecule. The stability of the molecule arising from hyper-conjugative interaction and charge delocalization has been analyzed using NBO analysis. The hyperpolarizability values are reported and the first hyperpolarizability of the title compound is 19.61 times that of standard NLO material urea. From the MEP plot, the negative charge covers the nitro group and the positive region is over the hydroxyl group and N-H part of the imidazole ring. The calculated (1)H NMR results are in good agreement with experimental data. Molecular docking study is also reported.

We designed carbazole unit with an extended π conjugation by employing Vilsmeier formylation reaction and Knoevenagel condensation to facilitate the functional groups of quinoline from 3- or 3,6-position of carbazole. Two compounds doped with poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) films were prepared. To explore the electronic transition properties of these compounds, one-photon absorption properties were experimentally measured and theoretically calculated by using the time-dependent density functional theory. We surveyed these films by using an 800 nm Ti:sapphire 120-fs laser with two-photon absorption (TPA) fluorescence emission properties and TPA coefficients to obtain the TPA cross sections. A three-dimensional optical data storage experiment was conducted by using a TPA photoreaction with an 800 nm-fs laser on the film to obtain a seven-layer optical data storage. The experiment proves that these carbazole derivatives are well suited for two-photon 3D optical storage, thus laying the foundation for the research of multilayer high-density and ultra-high-density optical information storage materials.

Abstract
The optimized molecular structure, vibrational frequencies, corresponding vibrational assignments of 1-[3-(4-fluorophenyl)-5-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-1-yl]ethanone have been investigated experimentally and theoretically. The geometrical parameters are in agreement with XRD data. The stability of the molecule arising from hyper-conjugative interaction and charge delocalization has been analyzed using NBO analysis. The HOMO and LUMO analysis is used to determine the charge transfer within the molecule. From the MEP it is evident that the negative charge covers the carbonyl group and the positive region is over the remaining groups. The more electronegativity in the carbonyl group makes it the most reactive part in the molecule. First hyperpolarizability is calculated in order to find its role in nonlinear optics. From the molecular docking studies, it is evident that the fluorine atom attached to benzene ring and ethanone attached to the pyrazoline ring are crucial for binding and the compound might exhibit inhibitory activity against TPII and may act as anti-neoplastic agent.

Abstract
The optimized molecular structure, vibrational frequencies, corresponding vibrational assignments of 1-[5-(4-bromophenyl)-3-(4-fluorophenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-1-yl]ethanone have been investigated experimentally and theoretically using Gaussian09 software package. The title compound was optimized using the HF/6-31G(d) (6D, 7F), B3LYP/6-31G (6D, 7F) and B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) (5D, 7F) calculations. The B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) (5D, 7F) results and in agreement with experimental infrared bands. The geometrical parameters are in agreement with XRD data. The stability of the molecule arising from hyper-conjugative interaction and charge delocalization has been analyzed using NBO analysis. The HOMO and LUMO analysis is used to determine the charge transfer within the molecule. Molecular electrostatic potential was also performed. From the MEP it is evident that the negative charge covers the C=O group and the positive region is over the rings. First hyperpolarizability is calculated in order to find its role in nonlinear optics. Molecular docking studies suggest that the compound might exhibit inhibitory activity against TPII and may act as anti-neoplastic agent.

Abstract
(E)-3-(4-Chlorophenyl)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)prop-2-en-1-one is synthesized by reacting 4-fluoroacetophenone and 4-chlorobenzaldehyde in ethanol in the presence of sodium hydroxide. The structure of the compound was confirmed by IR and single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. FT-IR spectrum of (E)-3-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)prop-2-en-1-one was recorded and analyzed. The crystal structure is also described. The vibrational wavenumbers were calculated using HF and DFT methods and are assigned with the help of potential energy distribution method. The geometrical parameters of the title compound obtained from XRD studies are in agreement with the calculated (DFT) values. The stability of the molecule arising from hyper-conjugative interaction and charge delocalization has been analyzed using NBO analysis. The calculated first hyperpolarizability of the title compound is comparable with the reported values of similar derivatives and 63.85 times that of the standard NLO material urea. The HOMO-LUMO transition implies an electron density transfer from the chlorophenyl ring to the fluorophenyl ring. From the MEP analysis it is evident that the negative charge covers the CO group and the positive region is over the phenyl rings.

Abstract
1-Benzoyl-4-phenyl-3-thiosemicarbazide (H3bpt) was treated with acid - base in one sequence and base - acid in other sequence, both of which lead to ring formation of thiosemicarbazide group, giving N-phenyl-5-phenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-amine (Hppta) in the first case and 4,5-diphenyl-2,4-dihydro-1,2,4-triazole-3-thione (Hdptt) in the second case. The primary (H3bpt) as well as the resulting compounds (Hppta & Hdptt) has been characterized by elemental analyses, NMR, FTIR and Raman spectroscopic techniques. The quantum chemical calculations of the compounds are performed using DFT/B3LYP/6311G(d,p) method for geometry optimizations and also for prediction of the molecular properties. The cyclization is confirmed by disappearance of many bands belonging to the open chain subgroups of H3bpt such as; NH stretching, NH bending, CN stretching, NH puckering, CO stretching etc. The ring formation of 1-benzoyl-4-phenyl-3-thiosemicarbazide (H3bpt) has been further confirmed by the appearance of many bands belonging to the closed ring of thiosemicarbazide in the resulting compounds Hppta and Hdptt.

Abstract
The title molecule (E)-2-[2-(2,6-dichlorophenyl)ethenyl]-8-hydroxyquinoline (DPEQ) was synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, UV-vis, NMR spectroscopy. The molecular geometry, vibrational frequencies and gauge independent atomic orbital (GIAO) 1H and 13C NMR chemical shift values of the compound in the ground state have been calculated by using the density functional theory (DFT) method. All the assignments of the theoretical frequencies were performed by potential energy distributions using VEDA 4 program. The calculated results indicate that the theoretical vibrational frequencies, 1H and 13C NMR chemical shift values show good agreement with experimental data. The electronic properties like UV-vis spectral analysis and HOMO-LUMO analysis of DPEQ have been reported and compared with experimental data. Information about the size, shape, charge density distribution and site of chemical reactivity of the molecule has been obtained by mapping electron density isosurface with molecular electrostatic potential (MEP).

Theoretical and experimental spectroscopic analysis of cyano-substituted styrylpyridine compounds. Int J Mol Sci 2013; 14:4005-29. Abstract
A combined theoretical and experimental study on the structure, infrared, UV-Vis and 1H NMR data of trans-2-(m-cyanostyryl)pyridine, trans-2-[3-methyl-(m-cyanostyryl)] pyridine and trans-4-(m-cyanostyryl)pyridine is presented. The synthesis was carried out with an efficient Knoevenagel condensation using green chemistry conditions. Theoretical geometry optimizations and their IR spectra were carried out using the Density Functional Theory (DFT) in both gas and solution phases. For theoretical UV-Vis and 1H NMR spectra, the Time-Dependent DFT (TD-DFT) and the Gauge-Including Atomic Orbital (GIAO) methods were used, respectively. The theoretical characterization matched the experimental measurements, showing a good correlation. The effect of cyano- and methyl-substituents, as well as of the N-atom position in the pyridine ring on the UV-Vis, IR and NMR spectra, was evaluated. The UV-Vis results showed no significant effect due to electron-withdrawing cyano- and electron-donating methyl-substituents. The N-atom position, however, caused a slight change in the maximum absorption wavelengths. The IR normal modes were assigned for the cyano- and methyl-groups. 1H NMR spectra showed the typical doublet signals due to protons in the trans position of a double bond. The theoretical characterization was visibly useful to assign accurately the signals in IR and 1H NMR spectra, as well as to identify the most probable conformation that could be present in the formation of the styrylpyridine-like compounds.
