Observation of intermolecular charge transfer in a quasi-one-dimensional molecular alloy system

Observation of a magnetic phase transition but absence of an electrical response in a new two-dimensional mixed-valence nickel-bis-dithiolene molecular crystal

A two-dimensional mixed-valence molecular crystal of [Ni(dmit)₂]₃⁻ shows a magnetic phase transition at ca. 77 K but absence of an electrical response in the same temperature interval.

3,5-Dimethyl-1-(4-nitro-benz-yl)pyridinium bis-(benzene-1,2-dithiol-ato-κ(2)S,S')nickelate(III)

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(14)H(15)N(2)O(2))[Ni(C(6)H(4)S(2))(2)], contains one cation and two halves of two centrosymmetric crystallographically independent anions. In the anions, the Ni(III) atoms are coordinated by four S atoms in a distorted square-planar geometry. In the cation, the dihedral angle between the pyridine and benzene rings is 88.66 (17)°. In the crystal, anions and cations inter-act through C-H⋯S and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

1-(4-Iodo-benz-yl)-3-methyl-pyridinium bis-(benzene-1,2-dithiol-ato)nickelate(III)

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C₁₃H₁₃IN)[Ni(C₆H₄S₂)₂], contains half each of two centrosymmetric anions and a single cation in a general position. In the anions, the Ni^III ions are surrounded by four S atoms in a distorted square-planar geometry. In the crystal, the anions exhibit two different packing modes by stacking along the a axis in face-to-face and side-by-side fashions. Inter­ionic C—H⋯S hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking inter­actions [centroid–centroid distance = 3.6947 (5) Å] are observed.

1-Butyl-pyridinium bis-(1,2-dicyano-ethene-1,2-dithiol-ato)nickelate(III)

The Ni^III atom in the anion of the title complex, (C₉H₁₄N)[Ni(C₄N₂S₂)₂], is coordinated by four S atoms of two maleonitrile­dithiol­ate ligands, and exhibits a square-planar coordination geometry.

3-Butyl-1-methyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium bis-(1,2-dicyano-ethene-1,2-dithiol-ato-κS,S')nickel(III)

In the title compound, (C₈H₁₅N₂)[Ni(C₄N₂S₂)₂], the Ni^III atom is coordinated by four S atoms of two maleonitrile­dithiol­ate ligands and exhibits a distorted square-planar geometry. In the crystal, the cations and anions are connected alternately by weak inter­molecular C—H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming a zigzag chain along [201].

3,3'-Dimethyl-1,1'-(propane-1,3-di-yl)diimidazol-1-ium bis-(1,2-dicyano-ethene-1,2-dithiol-ato-κS,S')nickelate(II)

In the title compound, (C₁₁H₁₈N₄)[Ni(C₄N₂S₂)₂], the asymmetric contains one half-complex, with the cation placed on a twofold axis and the anion located on an inversion center. The Ni^II ion in the anion is coordinated by four S atoms of two maleonitrile­dithiol­ate ligands, and exhibits the expected square-planar coordination geometry.
