Abstract
This article presents an in-depth investigation into the influence of anionic structures of ionic liquids (ILs) on gas-ionic liquid partition coefficients (log K) of organic solutes in three ILs. While the primary objective was to examine whether there is a relationship between the molecular structure of the IL anion component and log K, additionally it was looked at whether the molecular descriptors of the anion in the relationships encode possible molecular interactions during the miscibility and partitioning in the IL. The research involves the compilation of data series of experimental log K values, where the cation component is constant. Such representative data series were obtained for three solutes─benzene, cyclohexane, and methanol─in three ILs with a uniform cationic component of methylimidazoliums. Using multiple linear regression models enhanced with machine learning techniques, the relationship between anionic structures and log K values was successfully quantified and modeled. Systematically selected molecular descriptors describing the anion structure show that in the case of methanol log K is strongly dependent on hydrogen bonds and Coulomb-dipolar interactions with the anion component, while in the case of benzene and cyclohexane the dispersion forces of the anion component are dominant. The outlier analysis and data interpretation highlight the need for extensive experimental data. The results confirm the initial hypothesis and provide valuable information on the role of the structure of the anionic component in determining the partitioning behavior of organic solutes. This knowledge is important for the design and optimization of ILs for specific applications, particularly as solvents in various industrial processes. The research also provides useful information about molecular interactions taking place in the interfaces of IL and organic additives in complex liquid media such as multicomponent electrolyte solutions, for example in energy storage applications.

Abstract
Relevant chemical separations for the petrochemical and chemical industries include the removal of aromatic hydrocarbons from aliphatics, the desulfurization and denitrification of fuels, and the separation of azeotropic mixtures containing alkanols. In an attempt to contribute to the development of novel technologies, the potentialities of imidazolium chloride ionic liquid (IL) mixtures as separation agents were investigated. Selectivities, capacities, and solvent performance indices were calculated through the activity coefficients at infinite dilution of organic solutes and water in the imidazolium chloride IL: [C8mim]Cl, [C12mim]Cl, and the equimolar mixture of [C4mim]Cl and [C12mim]Cl. Results show that the imidazolium chloride IL might be appropriately tailored for specific purposes, in which an increase in the proportion of cations containing larger alkyl chains tends to increase the overall affinity with organic solutes. The IL designer solvent concept was explored by comparing the IL equimolar mixture results with the intermediary [C8mim]Cl. The COSMO-RS thermodynamic model was also applied, showing it to be a promising tool for a fast qualitative screening of potential separation agents for specific separation processes.

Abstract
Over the years room temperature ionic liquids have gained attention as solvents with favorable environmental and technical features. Both chromatographic and conventional methods afford suitable tools for the study of their physicochemical properties. Use of gas chromatography compared to conventional methods for the measurement of physicochemical properties of ionic liquids have several advantages; very low sample concentrations, high accuracy, faster measurements, use of wider temperature range and the possibility to determine physicochemical properties of impure samples. Also, general purpose gas chromatography instruments are widely available in most laboratories thus alleviating the need to purchase more specific instruments for less common physiochemical measurements. Some of the main types of physicochemical properties of ionic liquids accessible using gas chromatography include gas-liquid partition constants, infinite dilution activity coefficients, partial molar quantities, solubility parameters, system constants of the solvation parameter model, thermal stability, transport properties, and catalytic and other surface properties.

Abstract
Experimental and theoretical studies on thermodynamic properties of quinolinium-based ionic liquids (ILs) based on bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide anion (namely N-butyl-quinoloinium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [BQuin][NTf2], N-hexylquinoloinium bis(trifluoromethyl-sulfonyl)imide, [HQuin][NTf2], and N-octylquinoloinium bis(trifluoromethyl-sulfonyl)imide, [OQuin][NTf2]) with aromatic sulfur compounds and heptane, as a model compound of fuel were examined in order to assess the applicability of the studied ionic liquids for desulfurization of fuels. With this aim, the temperature-composition phase diagrams of 13 binary mixtures composed of organic sulfur compounds (thiophene, benzothiophene, or 2-methylthiophene) or heptane and ionic liquid (IL) were investigated at ambient pressure. A dynamic method was used to determine the (solid-liquid) equilibrium phase diagrams in binary systems over a wide composition range and temperature range from T = 255.15 to 365.15 K up to the fusion temperature of ILs. The immiscibility gap with an upper critical solution temperature (UCST) was observed for each binary system under study. The influence of the alkane chain length of the substituent on the IL cation and of the sulfur compounds (the aromaticity of the solvent) was described. The experimental (solid + liquid) phase equilibrium dataset were successfully correlated using the well-known NRTL equation.

Abstract
Omega-3 poly unsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) particularly eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), have many health benefits including reducing the risk of cancer and cardiovascular disease. Recently, the use of ionic liquids (ILs) in lipid extraction from microalgae provides the potential to overcome common drawbacks, offers several other benefits. To date, very limited researches are available to focus on extracting microalgae lipid and PUFA in particular by using ILs. The objective of current work is to screen the potential ILs that can be applied in EPA extraction. In this study, fast ILs screening was performed with the help of a conductor like screening model for real solvents (COSMO-RS) and the ILs with higher capacity values for use in extraction of EPA were compared. According to the results, the highest capacity for EPA extraction among 352 screened cation/anion combinations belongs to [TMAm][SO₄]. It is expected to achieve a higher yield of EPA once applying this combination as the solvent in the process of extraction. ILs with small anions were observed to have higher capacities, as well possessing higher charge density compared to larger ones, and therefore, they are more preferable for extraction purposes. Moreover, shorter alkyl chain cations are preferred when using imidazolium-based IL, which agrees with experimental data.

Abstract
New data of activity coefficients at infinite dilution, γ13∞, for 65 different solutes including alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, cycloalkanes, aromatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, thiophene, ethers, ketones, aldehydes, esters and water in the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium trifluorotris(perfluoroethyl)phosphate, were determined using inverse gas chromatography within the temperature range from 318.15 to 368.15 K. Abstract
Two ionic liquids, 1-ethylpyridinium bromide (EPBr) and 1-propylpyridinium bromide (PPBr), were prepared and the structures were characterized by 1H NMR. The thermodynamic properties of EPBr and PPBr were studied with adiabatic calorimetry (AC) and thermogravimatric analysis (TG-DTG). The heat capacity was precisely measured in the temperature range from 78 to 410 K by means of a fully automated adiabatic calorimeter. For EPBr, the melting temperature, enthalpy, and entropy of solid-liquid phase transition were determined to be 391.31 +/- 0.28 K, 12.77 +/- 0.09 kJ x mol(-1), and 32.63 +/- 0.22 J x K(-1) x mol(-1), respectively, and for PPBr they were 342.83 +/- 0.69 K, 10.97 +/- 0.05 kJ x mol(-1), and 32.00 +/- 0.10 J x K(-1) x mol(-1), respectively. The thermodynamic functions (H(T)(0) - H(298.15)(0)) and (S(T)(0) - S(298.15)(0)) were derived from the heat capacity data in the experimental temperature range with an interval of 5 K. The thermostablility of the compounds was further studied by TGA measurements. The phase change behavior and thermodynamic properties were compared and estimated in a series of alkyl pyridinium bromide ionic liquids. Results indicate that EPBr has higher melting and decomposition temperature, as well as phase transition enthalpy and entropy but lower heat capacity than PPBr due to their different molecular structures.
