Abstract
Highly efficient and straightforward access to enantioenriched five-membered ring-fused chromanones is developed via [3+2]-cycloaddition of 3-cyanochromones with Morita-Baylis-Hillman carbonates. Densely functionalized chiral cyclopenta[b]chromanones with three continuous quaternary and tertiary stereogenic carbon centers were obtained in high yields with high ee and dr (≤97% yield, 97% ee, and >20:1 dr). Moreover, density functional theory calculations have been carried out to investigate the mechanism and regio- and diastereoselectivity of the reaction.

Abstract
The attribution of 1H and 13C NMR signals of a library of 5-, 6- and 7-substituted 2,2-dimethylchroman-4-one derivatives is reported. Substituent effects were interpreted in terms of the Hammett equation, showing a good correlation for carbons para- to the substituent group, not for the meta- ones. Similarly, the Lynch correlation shows the additivity of the substituent chemical shifts in the case of both H and C nuclei, again with the exception of the carbons in the meta- position. Density Functional Theory (DFT)-predicted 1H and 13C chemical shifts correspond closely with experimentally observed values, with some exceptions for C NMR data; however, the correlation is valid only for the aromatic moiety and cannot be extended to the heterocyclic ring of the chroman-4-one scaffold.

Abstract
We report herein a copper-catalyzed sequential multicomponent reaction of benzo[d]isoxazoles with terminal alkynes and sulfonyl azides, which produced divergent 4-amino-2H-chromen-2-imines with excellent chemical selectivity. The reaction tolerated a broad range of functional groups, and released only N2 as the sole byproduct. The sulfonyl imino group could be removed to give biologically active free 4-amino-2H-chromenone in good yield.

Abstract
An efficient one pot strategy for the synthesis of cyclopentene fused chromanone derivatives through the direct oxidative coupling of salicylaldehydes with bicyclic olefins in the presence of a rhodium-copper catalyst system is described. This is the first report on the ring opening-ring closing of bicyclic hydrazines via metal catalyzed oxidative coupling reaction.
