Abstract
The reaction of 2,5-cyclohexadienones with methylene-tethered allenylsilane in the presence of Lewis or Brønsted acids leads to a cascade of intramolecular cyclization, yielding stereoselective tricyclic fused 6-5-4 carbocycles featuring a silyl-methylenecyclobutane ring. This transformation is notable for the diastereoselective asymmetric desymmetrization of prochiral dienones, attributed to the axial chirality of allene.

Abstract
Herein we report the copper-catalyzed silylation of propargylic difluorides to generate axially chiral, tetrasubstituted monofluoroallenes in both good yields (27 examples >80%) and enantioselectivities (82-98% ee). Compared to previously reported synthetic routes to axially chiral allenes (ACAs) from prochiral substrates, a mechanistically distinct reaction has been developed: the enantiodiscrimination between enantiotopic fluorides to set an axial stereocenter. DFT calculations and vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) suggest that β-fluoride elimination from an alkenyl copper intermediate likely proceeds through a syn-β-fluoride elimination pathway rather than an anti-elimination pathway. The effects of the C1-symmetric Josiphos-derived ligand on reactivity and enantioselectivity were investigated. Not only does this report showcase that alkenyl copper species (like their alkyl counterparts) can undergo β-fluoride elimination, but this elimination can be achieved in an enantioselective fashion.

Abstract
A novel approach for the formation of anomeric carbon-functionalized furanoside systems was accomplished through the employment of an oxo-rhenium catalyst. The transformation boasts a broad range of nucleophiles including allylsilanes, enol ethers, and aromatics in addition to sulfur, nitrogen, and hydride donors, able to react with an oxocarbenium ion intermediate derived from furanosidic structures. The excellent stereoselectivities observed followed the Woerpel model, ultimately providing 1,3-cis-1,4-trans systems. In the case of electron-rich aromatic nucleophiles, an equilibration occurs at the anomeric center with the selective formation of 1,3-trans-1,4-cis systems. This anomalous result was rationalized through density functional theory calculations. Different oxocarbenium ions such as those derived from dihydroisobenzofuran, pyrrolidine, and oxazolidine heterocycles can also be used as a substrate for the oxo-Re-mediated allylation reaction.

Abstract
A formal [3+2] cyclization mediated by silver(I) oxide and 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (DBU) is described herein. Through a broad variety of carbonyl compounds, this system can promote cyclization reactions with high yield (up to 85 %) and diastereoselectivity (up to 95:5) for a straightforward access to complex and congested dihydrofuran derivatives in one step under mild conditions. Based on DFT studies, the proposed mechanism would involve an allenyl silver intermediate.

Abstract
Highly enantioenriched chiral allenylsilanes 4 were prepared in high yield through a scalable synthetic sequence, employing a modified copper-catalyzed SN2' reaction. These reagents were used for the production of enantioenriched homoproparglylic ethers 5, which were subjected to titanium alkoxide-mediated reductive coupling with acetylenic esters to produce (E,E)-dienes 6 bearing α,β,γ,δ-unsaturated esters. Both enantiomers of nuclear factor of activated T-cells-68 (NFAT-68) were synthesized in five steps with the sequential use of the two methods.

Abstract
A carbon-Ferrier rearrangement on glycals has been performed by using ceric ammonium nitrate to obtain products in moderate to good yields with high selectivity. The versatility of this method has been demonstrated by applying it to differently protected glycals and by employing several nucleophiles. The obtained C-allyl glycoside has been utilized for the synthesis of a orthogonally protected 2-amino-2-deoxy-C-glycoside.

Abstract
A Rh(III)-catalyzed o-C-H bond functionalization-based allenylation reaction of allenylsilanes 2 with N-methoxybenzamides 1 affords poly-substituted allenylsilanes with a wide range of attractive functional groups in moderate to excellent yields under very mild conditions (20 °C, compatible with ambient air and moisture). Those products may be transformed to different products with attractive structural features. Careful mechanistic studies suggest the reaction proceeds via o-rhodation, regioselective insertion, and β-H elimination.

Abstract
An organosilane-directed alkyne-alkene reductive coupling of readily available propargylsilanes is used to access densely functionalized chiral allylsilanes. The divergent reactivity of the allylsilanes can be controlled to afford a range of novel carbocyclic ring systems through an intramolecular allylation, [3+2] annulation, and Sakurai-like homodimerization.

Abstract
A stereoselective synthesis of the antibiotic (-)-virginiamycin M(2) is detailed. A convergent strategy was utilized that proceeded in 10 steps (longest linear sequence) from enantioenriched silane (S)-15. This reagent, which was prepared via a Rh(II)- or Cu(I)-catalyzed carbenoid Si-H insertion, was used to introduce the desired olefin geometry and stereocenters of the C1-C5 propionate subunit. A modified Negishi cross-coupling or an efficient alkoxide-directed titanium-mediated alkyne-alkyne reductive coupling strategy was utilized to assemble the trisubstituted (E,E)-diene. An underutilized late-stage SmI(2)-mediated macrocyclization was employed to construct the 23-membered macrocycle scaffold of the natural product.
