Abstract
A series of oxazole-fused succinimides bearing vicinal quaternary carbon centers were synthesized. This process takes place between nitroolefins and azlactones in the presence of a bifunctional chiral guanidine-sulfonamide organocatalyst, followed by a Nef-type transformation under the treatment of DMAP/Ac2O. Several control experiments were conducted to propose the mechanism.

Abstract
A highly diastereo- and enantioselective cascade annulation reaction of Morita-Baylis-Hillman (MBH) maleimides of isatins with ortho-hydroxychalcones was achieved by a chiral N,N'-dioxide/Mg(II) complex Lewis acid catalyst. This strategy provides a concise and efficient route to densely functionalized spiro[cyclopentane-1,3'-oxindole] compounds with five consecutive stereocenters. The reaction itself features mild conditions, good functional group compatibility, and broad substrate scope (62 examples, up to 99% yield, up to >20:1 dr, 97% ee). In addition, an obvious ligand acceleration effect and chiral amplification effect were observed. DFT calculations were performed to elucidate the stereoselectivity observed. The gram-scale synthesis and the inhibitory effect of two products on the viability of A549 cells demonstrate the potential utility of the current method.

Abstract
A new strategy for access to spirocyclopentenonyl oxindole frameworks is disclosed. Suitably anchored furfuryl alcohol at C3 of an oxindole was used for the aza-Piancatelli rearrangement, which furnished spirocyclic aminocyclopentenone frameworks with catalytic phosphomolybdic acid. The scope of the transformation was extended to the carbo-Piancatelli rearrangement with various indole derivatives.

Abstract
Background,Objective: :
spiro[indoline-3,4′-pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazoles] derivatives are an important heterocyclic
compounds. These compounds shows wide range of biological properties and exhibits varied pharmaceutical applications.
Pyranopyrazoles, which are basically fused heterocyclic compounds and act as vasodilators, hypertensive, hypoglycaemic,
and anticancer agents.
Methods:
An efficient and micelle-promoted surfactant catalyzed synthesis of spiro[indoline-3,4′-pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazoles]
derivatives have been achieved via one-pot four-component reaction of hydrazine hydrate (phenyl hydrazine), ethyl acetoacetate, malononitrile (ethyl cyanoacetate) and isatin under thermal conditions (at 60°C) in water as a solvent.
Results:
Sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) used has been found to be an efficient and green catalyst. The compounds reported
during this work were obtained in excellent yield, in a short duration of time and ease of work up. They were purified by
recrystalization from ethanol, and also the synthesized compounds were characterized by various spectroscopic techniques.
Conclusion:
The method offers several advantages such as safe, cost-effective and catalyst easily recovered and reused
for a minimum of five cycles, that confirms its good stability. Short reaction times, high yield and usage of eco-friendly
catalyst and solvent are the key features of this methodology.

Abstract
Catalytic asymmetric and divergent assembly of tricyclic and tetracyclic 3,3'-pyrrolidonyl spirooxindoles was developed, involving a one-pot chiral Brønsted base catalyzed asymmetric propargylation for the synthesis of oxindole 1,6-enynes and a subsequent switchable site-selective and highly diastereoselective electrophilic iodocyclization of 1,6-enynes. In addition, antitumor properties of the newly synthesized compounds were evaluated.

Abstract
The thiourea-catalyzed asymmetric synthesis of highly enantioenriched spirocyclopentaneoxindoles containing chiral amide functional groups using simple 3-substituted oxindoles and nitrovinylacetamide as starting materials was achieved successfully. This protocol features operational simplicity, high atom economy, and high catalytic asymmetry, thus representing a versatile approach to the synthesis of highly enantioenriched spirocyclopentaneoxindoles.

Abstract
An asymmetric formal one-pot reaction of 4-hydroxycoumarins with unsaturated pyrazolones has been developed by merging a chiral bifunctional organocatalyst with molecular iodine, which furnished a series of optically active spiro[dihydrofurocoumarin/pyrazolone] heterocycles with spiro quaternary stereogenic centers in moderate to excellent yields (up to 99%) with excellent diastereoselectivities (up to >99 : 1 dr) and good to excellent enantioselectivities (up to 99% ee). The application in the gram-scale synthesis of chiral spiro[dihydrofurocoumarin/pyrazolone] compounds was also successfully realized.

Abstract
An unprecedented tandem oxidation/Michael/aldol reaction is reported. The diastereoselective formation of only a single isomer of dispirocyclopentanebisoxindole and dispiro[acenaphthylene-1,1'-cyclopentane-3',1''-acenaphthylene]-2,2''dione is presented. The reaction generates two new C-C bonds and two all-carbon quaternary chiral stereocenters in a single step.

Abstract
Spirooxindoles are important synthetic targets possessing extended biological activity and drug discovery applications. This review focuses on the various strategies for the enantioselective synthesis of spirocyclic oxindoles relying on reports over the past decade and from earlier work. The spirooxindoles in this review are separated into three structural classes, and then further categorized into the method type from which the spirocycle is generated.
