Abstract
A photocatalytic radical cascade with an unusual endo-trig cyclization was developed, which enables the efficient assembly of divergent tricyclic diterpenoid frameworks. The first total synthesis of abietane 10-epi-epoxyhinoliol was thus achieved in six steps by a subsequent reductive coupling of i-PrBr under photoredox/nickel dual catalysis. Inhibitory tests of chiral 10-epi-epoxyhinoliol and its analogues in 4T1 cancer cells demonstrated the critical role of the C12 hydroxyl group, leading to a discovery of the simplified analogue with better activity.

Abstract
A nickel-catalyzed reductive tandem cyclization of the elaborated β-bromo acetal with a dibenzoxepin scaffold was invented to strategically construct the remaining two rings in linoxepin. The generated diasterodivergent intermediates could be easily converted to both enantiomers of this unique cyclolignan molecule via facile oxidations, thus realizing enantiodivergent total synthesis of linoxepin for the first time.

Abstract
The formation of aromatic thioethers from C-S coupling is of great importance in synthetic chemistry. Traditional solution strategies through transition-metal catalysis generally require bulk solution, heat, and longer reaction time. Herein, a mechano-promoted sulfenylation of aryl iodides with nickel catalysis is described. The active aromatic sulfide agents are in-situ generated from aromatic thiol or disulfide and subsequently adapted in the nickel catalytic cycle, with a tolerance of broad substituted groups under optimized conditions. In addition to the gram-scale synthesis that reveals the application potential of the method, the radical trapping and competitive experiments are also conducted for the mechanistic study, thus providing a plausible mechanism rationally. Furthermore, the proposed methodology is certificated as being versatile and following the green principles with ideal calculated values of green chemistry metrics, and the comparison with other approaches for C-S bond formation is also demonstrated.

Abstract
A facile copper-catalyzed sustainable thiolation of ketones with sulfonohydrazides has been designed for the efficient construction of benzylic thioethers in excellent yield under mild reaction conditions. The current approach avoids the widely used thiolation reagent, thiols. The commercial availability of the base and reagents, broad substrate scope, and convenient reaction procedure make it an attractive method for benzylic thioether synthesis.

Abstract
A novel hydroiodic acid-promoted metal-free C(sp2)-H sulfenylation of electron-rich arenes was developed using stable and easy-to-handle sodium sulfinates as sulfur sources. Diverse kinds of asymmetric aryl sulfides were afforded in good yields from various commercially available aromatic substrates under mild conditions. Comprehensive mechanistic experiments demonstrate that RSO2SR and RSSR are the key intermediates responsible for the redox process.

Abstract
Air-stable Ni nanoparticles (with particle size ∼ 11 nm) supported on reduced graphene oxide [Ni(0)@RGO] was prepared by a simple and easy procedure. We previously described the Kumada-Corriu C-C cross-coupling reaction between iodo-arenes and Grignard reagents with Ni(0)RGO as a stable and efficient catalyst. This Ni(0)RGO catalyst gave an excellent yield (92%) and good recyclability (up to the 5th cycle). This communication confirms that the catalyst shows superior efficacy for the C-S coupling reaction, similar to that for the Kumada-Corriu C-C cross-coupling reaction. A catalytic experiment with the Ni(0)@RGO recycled material was also performed. HRTEM study of the reused material after the C-S coupling reaction confirmed the retention of the original (fresh) catalyst structure. It is reusable up to the 7th cycle without any activity loss.

Abstract
Ni‐catalyzed C−S cross‐coupling reactions have received less attention compared with other C‐heteroatom couplings. Most reported examples comprise the thioetherification of most reactive aryl iodides with aromatic thiols. The use of C−O electrophiles in this context is almost uncharted. Here, we describe that preformed Ni(II) precatalysts of the type NiCl(allyl)(PMe2Ar’) (Ar’=terphenyl group) efficiently couple a wide range of (hetero)aryl halides, including challenging aryl chlorides, with a variety of aromatic and aliphatic thiols. Aryl and alkenyl tosylates are also well tolerated, demonstrating, for the first time, to be competent electrophilic partners in Ni‐catalyzed C−S bond formation. The chemoselective functionalization of the C−I bond in the presence of a C−Cl bond allows for designing site‐selective tandem C−S/C−N couplings. The formation of the two C‐heteroatom bonds takes place in a single operation and represents a rare example of dual electrophile/nucleophile chemoselective process.

Abstract
Metallaphotoredox-catalyzed C-S cross-coupling between heteroaryl bromides and α-thioacetic acids to form biaryl thioethers is described herein. This transformation allows for cross-coupling between building blocks containing reactive functional groups, nitrogen heterocycles, and pharmaceutically relevant scaffolds. Mechanistic experiments indicate a unique means by which this C-S cross-coupling occurs.

Abstract
The cross-electrophile coupling between unactivated alkyl bromides with arenesulfonyl cyanides catalyzed by Ni(acac)2 under reductive conditions to form unsymmetrical sulfides is developed. This approach for sulfide synthesis is practical, relies on available, unfunctionalized materials such as alkyl (pseudo)halides, and is scalable. This catalytic strategy provides a complementary method for the preparation of unsymmetrical alkyl-aryl sulfides under mild conditions with good functional group tolerance.

Abstract
A mild and regioselective method for the preparation of unsymmetrical biaryl sulfides using iron(III) catalysis is described. Activation of N-(arylthio)succinimides using the powerful Lewis acid iron(III) triflimide allowed the efficient thiolation of a range of arenes, including anisoles, phenols, acetanilides, and N-heterocycles. The method was applicable for the late-stage thiolation of tyrosine and tryptophan derivatives and was used as the key step for the synthesis of pharmaceutically relevant biaryl sulfur-containing compounds such as the antibiotic dapsone and the antidepressant vortioxetine. Kinetic studies revealed that while N-(arylthio)succinimides bearing electron-deficient arenes underwent thioarylation catalyzed entirely by iron(III) triflimide, N-(arylthio)succinimides with electron-rich arenes displayed an autocatalytic mechanism promoted by the Lewis basic product.

Abstract
Seven membered heterocyclic Azepine and its derivatives have great pharmacological
and therapeutic implications. In this review, the literature of the last fifty years has
been exploited for the synthesis, reaction, and biological properties of these seven-member
heterocyclic compounds. Most of the mechanisms involved the ring expansion of either five
or six-membered compounds using various methods such as thermally, photo-chemically, and
microwave irradiation. The systematically designed schemes involve the synthesis of different
derivatives of azepine, azepinone, azepane, etc., using similar moieties by various researchers.
However, there is much work yet to be done in the biological section, as it is not
explored and reported in the literature; therefore, N-containing seven-membered heterocycles
still have much scope for the researchers.

Abstract
Carbon-sulfur bond cross-coupling has become more and more attractive as an alternative protocol to establish carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds. Diverse transformations through transition-metal-catalyzed C-S bond activation and cleavage have recently been developed. This review summarizes the advances in transition-metal-catalyzed cross-coupling via carbon-sulfur bond activation and cleavage since late 2012 as an update of the critical review on the same topic published in early 2013 (Chem. Soc. Rev., 2013, 42, 599-621), which is presented by the categories of organosulfur compounds, that is, thioesters, thioethers including heteroaryl, aryl, vinyl, alkyl, and alkynyl sulfides, ketene dithioacetals, sulfoxides including DMSO, sulfones, sulfonyl chlorides, sulfinates, thiocyanates, sulfonium salts, sulfonyl hydrazides, sulfonates, thiophene-based compounds, and C[double bond, length as m-dash]S functionality-bearing compounds such as thioureas, thioamides, and carbon disulfide, as well as the mechanistic insights. An overview of C-S bond cleavage reactions with stoichiometric transition-metal reagents is briefly given. Theoretical studies on the reactivity of carbon-sulfur bonds by DFT calculations are also discussed.

Abstract
Dendrimers are of great interest due to their special structural topology and chemical versatility. Owing to their properties, dendrimers have found practical applications in catalytic processes as efficient nanoreactors. Therefore, we herein report an environmentally attractive strategy and highly efficient route for the synthesis of a wide variety of diaryl sulfides using palladium nanoparticles immobilized on a nano-silica triazine dendritic polymer (Pdnp-nSTDP) as a nanoreactor. In this manner, different diaryl or aryl heteroaryl sulfides and bis(aryl/heteroarylthio)benzene/anthracene/pyridine derivatives were prepared via C–S cross-coupling reactions of aryl halides with diaryl/diheteroaryl disulfides under thermal conditions and microwave irradiation. The catalyst could be easily recovered and reused several times without any significant loss of its activity. Efficient synthesis of diaryl sulfides via C–S cross-coupling of aryl halides with disulfides catalyzed by Pdnp-nSTDP is reported.![]()

Abstract
A series of PEG-functionalized nitrogen ligands were developed to conduct an aerobic oxidative cross-coupling reaction between alkyl- or aryl-hydrazines with thiols in water. This surfactant-type catalyst enables high efficiencies and selectivities, while tolerating a large variety of functional groups. The mother liquor is still catalytically active after five runs.
