Abstract
An organocatalytic enantioselective alkylation of α,α-disubstituted aldehydes with 3-bromooxindoles is reported. Enantioenriched oxindoles with vicinal quaternary stereocenters are accessed by an asymmetric conjugate addition process of branched aldehydes with o-azaxylylene intermediates (indol-2-ones). Key to the success of highly diastereo- and enantioselective transformations is the combined use of a triphenylsilyl-protected β-amino alcohol catalyst derived from the spiropyrrolidine scaffold and 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid. This study also presents a rare example of aldehyde alkylation with the formation of consecutive quaternary stereocenters.

Abstract
An asymmetric conjugate addition of aldehydes with o-azaxylylene intermediates (indol-2-ones) from 3-bromooxindoles has been developed. The use of a novel spiro-pyrrolidine (SPD)-derived bifunctional N-sulfonylated amide catalyst is essential for a highly diastereo- and enantioselective transformation to provide a wide array of enantioenriched C3 quaternary oxindoles with structurally diverse β-aldehyde appendages. Further application of this synthetic methodology enables the construction of the tricyclic cores of akuammiline-type alkaloids.

Abstract
An enantioselective bifunctional squaramide-catalyzed detrifluoroacetylative alkylation reaction has been developed under electrochemical conditions. The unified strategy based on this key tandem methodology has been divergently explored for the asymmetric synthesis of fluorine-containing target molecules with good stereocontrol (up to 95 % ee). Furthermore, this asymmetric catalytic reaction combines the benefits of electrosynthesis and organocatalysis for the preparation of biologically relevant products containing C-F tertiary stereogenic centers.

Abstract
A highly diastereoselective organocatalytic method that produces 3-fluoro-3'-hydroxy-3,3'-bisoxindoles and the corresponding 3-fluoro-3'-amino derivatives having two adjacent chirality centers from fluorooxindoles and isatins in high yields is described. The reaction occurs in protic solvents at room temperature, it can be upscaled without compromising yield and stereoselectivity, and chromatographic product purification is not required.

Abstract
A highly diastereoselective organocatalytic reaction for the synthesis of fluorinated 3,3'-bisindolines exhibiting adjacent tetrasubstituted carbon stereocenters is described. A broad variety of heterochiral bisindolines was prepared in 91-99% yield using 3-fluorooxindoles and isatylidene malononitriles in the presence of catalytic amounts of triethylamine in water or aqueous solution. The reaction can be upscaled without compromising yield and diastereoselectivity and the general usefulness of this method was demonstrated with various Michael acceptors and extended to aldol and Mannich reactions.

A wide variety of such multisubstituted 3-alkoxylated-2-oxindole scaffolds were smoothly obtained in good yields (up to 94%) by heating in an oil bath at 35 °C for 24 h. A particularly valuable feature of this method was the development of environment-friendly chemistry using alcohols 2 as both the substrates and solvents in the presence of a catalytic amount of base.

Abstract
Synthetically versatile 3,3-disubstituted fluorooxindoles exhibiting vicinal chirality centers were obtained in high yields and with excellent enantio-, diastereo-, and regioselectivity through catalytic asymmetric fluoroenolate alkylation with allylic acetates. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions and can be scaled up without compromising the asymmetric induction. The unique synthetic usefulness of the products is highlighted by the incorporation of additional functionalities and the formation of 3-fluorinated oxindoles exhibiting an array of four adjacent centers of chirality. A new C-F bond functionalization path that provides unprecedented possibilities for the stereoselective generation of a chiral quaternary carbon center in the alkaloid scaffold is introduced.

Abstract
An efficient asymmetric detrifluoroacetylative Mannich reaction of 2-fluoro-1,3-diketones/hydrates with isatin-derived ketimines catalyzed by a chiral copper(II)-diamine complex has been realized. The reaction afforded a series of 3-substituted 3-amino-2-oxindoles bearing fluorine-containing vicinal tetrasubstituted stereocenters in high yields (up to 99%) with excellent diastereoselectivities (up to >20:1 dr) and enantioselectivities (up to 94% ee).

Abstract
An efficient, highly stereoselective asymmetric synthesis of fully functionalized cyclopentanes bearing an oxindole moiety and several other functional groups in one pot has been developed. Key step is an organocatalytic triple Michael domino reaction forming three C-C bonds and six stereocenters, including a quaternary one. Starting from equimolar amounts of simple substrates, a high molecular complexity can be reached after a Wittig olefination in one pot. The new protocol can easily be scaled up to gram amounts.
