Abstract
The reductive cross-coupling of terminal alkenes and N-heterocyclic bromides has been demonstrated by ligand optimization of Pd and CuH catalysis. The optimized ligands are Briphos, a π-acceptor monodentate phosphorus ligand, for Pd catalysis and DTB-DPPBz, a sterically bulky bidentate phosphorus ligand, for CuH catalysis. These conditions were further applied to the gram-scale production of clathryimine B.

Abstract
A strategy for chiral ligand design has been developed that allows for incorporation of an achiral bicyclic bridgehead phosphoramidite to generate a class of hybrid diphosphorus ligands for high activity and asymmetric control. Using this concept, a series of chiral phosphine-phosphoramidite ligands bearing the sole chirality at the ligand backbone have been prepared and successfully employed in the Rh-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of 2-vinylanilides for the synthesis of optically active anilines bearing an ortho-tertiary benzylic stereocenter.

Abstract
A one-step, Brønsted acid catalyzed tandem reaction for the synthesis of α-(4-oxazolyl)amino esters was developed. 4-Nitrobenzenesulfonic acid was found to be an efficient catalyst for the coupling of ethyl 2-oxobut-3-ynoates with amides to provide various α-(4-oxazolyl)amino esters. The experimental and X-ray crystallographic data suggest that a series of bond-forming reactions including imine formation, intermolecular Michael addition, and intramolecular Michael addition are involved to generate both the oxazole and amino acid functionalities.
