Abstract
This work demonstrates the optimization of an efficient, mild, and environmentally friendly synthetic approach to access a diverse library of N-naphthoyl thioureas. These derivatives could be exploited as precursor scaffolds for designing valuable heterocycles with anticipated biological activities. Additionally, the utilization of a copper complex derived from the newly synthesized N-naphthoyl thiourea ligand in the photodegradation of methyl orange (MO) dye was explored. The antiproliferative effect of the synthesized derivatives was examined against MCF-7, HCT116, and A549 cancer cell lines. Most of the assembled derivatives revealed a significant cytotoxic effect, in some cases, greater than doxorubicin. Of these, the copper complex demonstrated significant antitumor activities (IC50 < 1.3 μM) and lesser cytotoxic impact (IC50 > 76 μM), indicating its possibility as a pioneering candidate for future carcinogenic pharmaceutics. Relations between the structure and activity also have been addressed.

Abstract
An efficient electrophilic N-cyanation of amines with a stable and less-toxic cyanobenziodoxole reagent towards the synthesis of cyanamides is disclosed. This synthetically practicable strategy allows the construction of a wide variety of cyanamides under very mild and simple conditions with a broad functional group compatibility, and showcases a huge potential in late-stage modification of complex molecules.

Abstract
A copper-catalyzed tandem process integrating regioselective N-arylation, followed by aza-Michael addition, is disclosed using 2-aminobenzothiazoles and ortho-halo cinnamic acid congeners. This process generated diverse tetracyclic 5H-benzothiazolo[3,2-a]quinazoline derivatives in moderate to good yields. The present tandem reaction appears to proceed through concomitant ring opening of 2-aminobenzothiazole and S-arylation to give the ortho-cyanamide-substituted diaryl thioether intermediate. The thus generated intermediate likely undergoes an unprecedented Truce-Smiles-type rearrangement involving S- to N-aryl migration, followed by reformation of the thiazole ring and intramolecular aza-Michael addition to furnish the title products.

Abstract
Bleach oxidizes trimethylsilyl cyanide to generate an electrophilic cyanating reagent that readily reacts with an amine nucleophile. This oxidative N-cyanation reaction allows for the preparation of disubstituted cyanamides from amines without using highly toxic cyanogen halides.
