Abstract
Asymmetric functionalization of the C(sp3)-H bond is an attractive yet challenging strategy to achieve versatile bond-forming events, enabling the precise assembly of molecular complexity with minimal manipulation of functional groups. Here, we report an asymmetric C(sp3)-H/C(sp3)-H umpolung coupling of N-allylimine and coordinating α-aryl carbonyls by using chiral phosphoramidite-palladium catalysis. A wide variety of α-heteroaryl ketones and 2-acylimidazoles are nicely tolerated to open a convenient and tunable avenue for efficient synthesis of enantioenriched β-amino-γ,δ-unsaturated carbonyl derivatives with high levels of regio- and stereoselectivities, capable of providing a key intermediate for asymmetric synthesis of Focalin. This protocol showcases an umpolung reactivity of the N-allylimines through a concerted proton and two-electron transfer process to cleave the allylic C-H bond, effectively complementing established methodology for allylic C-H functionalization. An inner-sphere allylation pathway for both α-heteroaryl carbonyls and 2-acylimidazoles to attack the π-allylpalladium species is suggested by computational studies and experimental facts, wherein the nitrogen coordination to the palladium center enables the preference of branched regioselectivity.

Abstract
A site-selective supported palladium nanoparticle catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction with heteroaryl esters and arylboronic acids as coupling partners was developed. This methodology provides a heterogeneous catalytic route for aryl ketone formation via C(acyl)-O bond activation of esters by successful suppression of the undesired decarbonylation phenomenon. The catalyst can be reused and shows high activity after eight cycles. The XPS analysis of the catalyst before and after the reaction suggested that the reaction might be performed via a Pd0/PdII catalytic cycle that began with Pd0.

Abstract
Readily available and inexpensive Earth-abundant alkali metal species are used as efficient catalysts for the transesterification of aryl or heteroaryl esters with phenols which is a challenging and underdeveloped transformation. The simple conditions and the use of heterogeneous alkali metal catalyst make this protocol very environmentally friendly and practical. This reaction fills in the missing part in transesterification reaction of phenols and provides an efficient approach to aryl esters, which are widely used in the synthetic and pharmaceutical industry. Abstract
Organocatalysis is shown to expand the classical reactivity pattern for conjugate addition reactions. It is demonstrated that the site selectivity can be extended from 1,4- to 1,6-additions for the enantioselective vinylogous additions of methyl-substituted vinylogous lactones to enals and 2,4-dienals. This novel reactivity is demonstrated for methyl-substituted olefinic azlactones and butyrolactones. Their synthetic potential is first highlighted by the development of the organocatalytic regioselective vinylogous 1,4-addition to enals which proceeds with a very high level of double-bond geometry control and excellent enantioselectivity. The concept is developed further for the unprecedented intermolecular enantioselective organocatalyzed vinylogous 1,6-addition to linear 2,4-dienals, by which the site selectivity of the process is extended from the β-position to the remote δ-position of the 2,4-dienal. The organocatalyst controls the newly generated stereocenter six bonds away from the stereocenter of the catalyst with a high level of enantiocontrol, and the products are obtained with full control of double-bonds configuration. The scope of these new reaction concepts is demonstrated for a series of aliphatic and aryl-substituted enals and 2,4-dienals undergoing enantioselective vinylogous reactions with methyl-substituted olefinic azlactones and butyrolactones. Furthermore, mechanistic considerations are presented which can account for the change from 1,4- to 1,6-selectivity. Finally, a number of different transformations of the optically active 1,4- and 1,6-addition products are demonstrated.

Abstract
A rapid and simple procedure was devised for the synthesis of multifunctionalized cyclic β-amino esters and γ-amino alcohols via the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of nitrile oxides to β-aminocyclopentenecarboxylates. The opening of the isoxazoline reductive ring to the corresponding highly functionalized 2-aminocyclopentanecarboxylates occurred stereoselectively with good yields.

Abstract
Influenza virus infection constitutes a significant health problem in need of more effective therapies. We have recently identified ((2R,3S,4R,5R)-3-acetoxy-5-(4-benzamido-2-oxopyrimidin-1(2H)-yl)-4-fluoro-3,4-dimethyl-tetrahydrofuran-2-yl) methyl benzoate (18c) as a potent influenza virus inhibitor. We now here report the synthesis and evaluation of a series of C-3' modified ribose nucleosides. These novel compounds were prepared, primarily by taking known ((2R,3R,4R)-3-benzoyloxy-4-fluoro-4-methyl-5-oxo-tetrahydrofuran-2-yl)methyl benzoate (1) and converting it in to C-3 keto sugar (7), reacting C-3 keto group with methyl magnesium bromide, followed by coupling these sugars with purine and pyrimidine bases. Anti influenza viral activity was determined by screening against both A and B viral strains.
