Abstract
Rapid detection of toxic ions has taken great attention in the last few decades due to its importance in maintaining a greener environment for human beings. The extreme toxicity of cyanide (CN-) ions is a great environmental concern as its continued industrial use generates interest in facile and sensitive methods for CN- ions detection. Since CN- ions act as a ligand in coordination chemistry which rapidly coordinates with suitable metals and forms complexes, this ability was mainly explored in its detection. It also attacks the central metal in coordination compounds and gives a fluorimetric response. Coordination compounds behave as a sensor for the detection of important ions like CN- ions and have gained great attention due to their facile synthesis, multianalyte detection, clear detection and low detection limit. Recently, considerable efforts have been devoted to the detection and quantification of hazardous multianalyte using a single probe. Cu2+ complexes are the main complexes used for CN- ions detection; however, the complexes of many other metals are also used as sensors. Four basic types of interaction have been discussed in coordination compound sensors for CN- detection. The performances of different sensors are compared with one another and the sensors which have the lowest detection limit are highlighted. This review comprises the progress made by coordination compounds as sensors for the detection of CN- ions in the last six years (2015-2021). To the best of our knowledge, there is no review on coordination compounds as a sensor for CN- ions during this period. [Figure: see text].

Abstract
The carbonylation of a 1-lithio-1,3-butadiene derivative with CO gave rise to a butadienyl acyllithio intermediate, which underwent an immediate intramolecular acyllithiation of the C═C double bond, affording a lithio cyclopentadienyl enolate. The X-ray structural analysis of the enolate revealed a dimer connected with a "Li(2)O(2)" four-membered ring. Subsequent intermolecular acylation of this enolate with acid chlorides afforded β-keto-3-cyclopentenones, γ-keto-2-cyclopentenones, or cyclopentadienyl ester derivatives. The stereo- and regioselectivity of the in situ generated lithio cyclopentadienyl enolate with various acid chlorides was investigated and analyzed, showing that the formation of the above products was significantly dependent on both the substituents on the butadienyl skeleton and the bulkiness of acid chlorides.

Abstract
New unsymmetrical hydroxyferrocenes were synthesised from dibromoferrocene. The oxygen heteroatom was introduced via lithiation and quenching with bis-trimethylsilylperoxide followed by hydrolysis to unmask the hydroxyl functionality. The coordination chemistry of 1'-(diphenylphosphino)-1-hydroxyferrocene 2 was explored with palladium and rhodium precursors. A dinuclear palladium methyl complex with bridging ferrocenyloxo groups was obtained from the reaction between 2 and (cyclooctadiene)methylchloropalladium(II). With tetracarbonyldichlorodirhodium(I), two complexes were isolated. The major product was a bis ligand cis phosphine ligated complex with one ligand bound in a chelating mode and one with a pendant hydroxyl group. A minor product was crystallographically characterised as a dinuclear ferrocenyloxo-bridged rhodium carbonyl complex. The coordination chemistry of 2 and the corresponding phosphine oxide 3 was examined with group 4 metals and the resulting complexes examined as ethylene polymerisation catalysts. The ligands were found to bind in either a chelating fashion or with pendant phosphine donors. In all cases, low to moderately active ethylene polymerisation catalysts were found. The catalysts were very unstable and catalyst residues were observed in the isolated polymer indicating a short catalyst lifetime.

Abstract
The cycloheptatrienyl-cyclopentadienyl sandwich complex [(eta(7)-C(7)H(7))Ti(eta(5)-C(5)H(5))] (troticene) can be dilithiated (once at each ring) or selectively monolithiated, either at the seven- or five-membered ring, depending on the reaction conditions. Treatment of the resulting lithiotroticenes with ClPPh(2) afforded the corresponding troticenyl-phosphanes [(eta(7)-C(7)H(6)PPh(2))Ti(eta(5)-C(5)H(4)PPh(2))] (1), [(eta(7)-C(7)H(6)PPh(2))Ti(eta(5)-C(5)H(5))] (2), or [(eta(7)-C(7)H(7))Ti(eta(5)-C(5)H(4)PPh(2))] (3). The use of nBuLi/N,N',N',N'',N"-pentamethyldiethylenetriamine (pmdta) allowed us to isolate the lithium complexes [(eta(7)-C(7)H(6)Li)Ti(eta(5)-C(5)H(4)Li)] x pmdta (4) and [(eta(7)-C(7)H(7))Ti(eta(5)-C(5)H(4)Li)] x pmdta (5), which were structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction analyses. Reaction of the monophosphane 3 with Mo(CO)(6) and [(tht)AuCl] (tht = tetrahydrothiophene) afforded the heterobimetallic complexes [(3)Mo(CO)(5)] (6) and [(3)AuCl] (7) and also the trimetallic species [(3)(2)AuCl] (8). The reaction of trans-[PtCl(2)(SEt(2))(2)] with the diphosphane 1 led to the formation of cis-[(1)PtCl(2)] (9), whereas the complexes trans-[(2)(2)PtCl(2)] (10) and trans-[(3)(2)PtCl(2)] (11) were isolated by reaction of two equivalents of the monophosphanes 2 and 3 with trans-[PtCl(2)(SEt(2))(2)]. The X-ray crystal structures of 6-11 are also reported.

Abstract
The combinative and complementary use of a hemilabile difunctional ligand on a metal, notably palladium, that is coordinatively and electronically unsaturated has led to the isolation of a string of unexpected low-valent complexes that are structurally intriguing. The ligands of interest are primarily ferrocenes functionalized by [P,N] and [P,O] donors. The characterization of these active Suzuki catalysts, which support sp(2)-sp(2) couplings, give valuable insights into the key Suzuki intermediates such as those arising from the reductive elimination, transmetallation, and oxidative addition steps. In this Account, we shall review and discuss our recent results in relation to selected developments in other laboratories.

Abstract
Ferrocene phosphinocarboxamides, 1-(diphenylphosphino)-1'-{N-[(2-pyridyl)methyl]carbamoyl}ferrocene (1) and 1-(diphenylphosphino)-1'-{N-[2-(2-pyridyl)ethyl]carbamoyl}ferrocene (2) were prepared from 1-(diphenylphosphino)-1'-ferrocenecarboxylic acid and studied as ligands for palladium. Starting with [PdCl2(cod)], the reactions at a 2 : 1 ligand-to-metal ratio gave uniformly the bis-phosphine complexes [PdCl2(L-kappaP)2] (3, L = 1; 4, L = 2) whereas those performed at a 1 : 1 ratio yielded distinct products: [PdCl2(1-kappa(2)P,N)] (5) with 1 coordinating as a trans-spanning P,N-donor, and the symmetric, P,N-bridged dimer [(micro-2-N,P)2{PdCl2}2] (6), respectively. The crystal structures of 1, 2, 4.4CHCl3, 5.AcOH, and 6.8CHCl3 as determined by X-ray diffraction showed the compounds to form well defined solid-state assemblies through hydrogen bonds. Testing of the phosphinocarboxamides in the palladium-catalysed Suzuki cross-coupling reaction revealed 1 and 2, combined with Pd(OAc)2 to form efficient catalysts for the reactions of aryl bromides while aryl chlorides coupled only when activated with electron-withdrawing groups.

Abstract
Donor properties of 1-(diphenylphosphanyl)-1'-vinylferrocene (1) were investigated in a series of reactions with palladium(II), rhodium(I), and copper(I) compounds. In all complexes obtained, compound 1 coordinates exclusively as a monodentate phosphorus donor, giving trans-[PdCl2(1-κP)2] (3) with [PdCl2(cod)], [PdCl(LNC)(1-κP)] (4) with [{Pd(LNC)}2(μ-Cl)2], and trans-[RhCl(CO)(1-κP)2] (5) with [{Rh(CO)2}2(μ-Cl)2] (cod = cycloocta-1,5-diene, LNC = 2-[(dimethylamino)methyl-κN]phenyl-κC1). Copper(I) precursors CuI and [Cu(MeCN)4]PF6 reacted with 1 in a similar manner, yielding at appropriate molar ratios heterocubane [(μ3-I)4{Cu(1-κP)}4] (6) and the bis(phosphane) complex [Cu(MeCN)(1-κP)2]PF6 (7), respectively. The structures of 1-(diphenylthiophosphoryl)-1'-vinylferrocene (2), 3, 4·CHCl3, 6·C6H6, and 7 have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.

Abstract
New unsymmetrical S/O 1,1'-disubstituted ferrocenediyl ethers and hydroxides have been synthesised. The coordination chemistry of 1-(methylsulfanyl)-1'-(methoxy)ferrocene has been investigated with palladium(II) and platinum(II) precursors. With palladium(II), a bis-mu-chloro-bridged dimeric complex was obtained with the ligand bound solely through the thioether donor group. With platinum(II), a bis-ligand trans-sulfur ligated complex was obtained and structurally characterised.
