Abstract
A general synthetic procedure to neutral homo- and heterobimetallic cage compounds exhibiting various structural motifs of the polypnictogen ligands starting from [Cp*Fe(η5-E5)] (E = P (1), As (2); Cp* = C5Me5) is reported. The impact of the implemented transition metal precursors {Cp'''M} (M = Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni; Cp''' = 1,2,4-tBu3C5H2) emphasises the variability of the isolated complexes exhibiting a broad variety of structural motifs of the pnictogen ligands. Spectroscopic, crystallographic, and theoretical investigations provide insight into the structure of the partially unprecedented polypnictogen ligands.

Abstract
The use of [Cp''2 Zr(η1:1 -E4 )] (E=P (1 a), As (1 b), Cp''=1,3-di-tert-butyl-cyclopentadienyl) as phosphorus or arsenic source, respectively, gives access to novel stable polypnictogen transition metal complexes at ambient temperatures. The reaction of 1 a/1 b with [CpR NiBr]2 (CpR =CpBn (1,2,3,4,5-pentabenzyl-cyclopentadienyl), Cp''' (1,2,4-tri-tert-butyl-cyclopentadienyl)) was studied, to yield novel complexes depending on steric effects and stoichiometric ratios. Besides the transfer of the complete En unit, a degradation as well as aggregation can be observed. Thus, the prismane derivatives [(Cp'''Ni)2 (μ,η3:3 -E4 )] (2 a (E=P); 2 b (E=As)) or the arsenic containing cubane [(Cp'''Ni)3 (μ3 -As)(As4 )] (5) are formed. Furthermore, the bromine bridged cubanes of the type [(CpR Ni)3 {Ni(μ-Br)}(μ3 -E)4 ]2 (CpR =Cp''': 6 a (E=P), 6 b (E=As), CpR =CpBn : 8 a (E=P), 8 b (E=As)) can be isolated. Here, a stepwise transfer of En units is possible, with a cyclo-E4 2- ligand being introduced and unprecedented triple-decker compounds of the type [{(CpR Ni)3 Ni(μ3 -E)4 }2 (μ,η4:4 -E'4 )] (CpR =CpBn , Cp'''; E/E'=P, As) are obtained.

Abstract
The synthesis, structures, and magnetic properties of monomeric half-sandwich iron and cobalt imidazolin-2-iminato complexes have been comprehensively investigated. Salt metathesis reactions of [Cp'M(μ-I)]2 (1-M, M = Fe, Co; Cp' = η5-1,2,4-tri-tert-butylcyclopentadienyl) with [ImDippNLi]2 (ImDippN = 1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imidazolin-2-iminato) furnishes the terminal half-sandwich compounds [Cp'M(NImDipp)] (2-M, M = Fe, Co), which can be regarded as models for elusive half-sandwich iron and cobalt imido complexes. X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed the structure motif of a one-legged piano stool. Complex 2-Co can also be prepared by an acid-base reaction between [Cp'Co{N(SiMe3)2}] (3-Co) and ImDippNH. The electronic and magnetic properties of 2-M and 3-Co were probed by 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy (M = Fe), X-band EPR spectroscopy (M = Co), and solid-state magnetic susceptibility measurements. In particular, the central metal atom adopts a high-spin (S = 2) state in 2-Fe, while the cobalt complex 2-Co represents a rare example of a Co(II) species with a coordination number different from six displaying a low-spin to high-spin spin-crossover (SCO) behavior. The experimental observations are complemented by DFT calculations.

Abstract
The preparation of new stable half-sandwich transition metal complexes, having a bulky cyclopentadienyl ligand C5(C6H4-4-Et)5 (Cp(Ar1)) or C5(C6H4-4-nBu)5 (Cp(Ar2)), is reported. The tetrahydrofuran (THF) adduct [Cp(Ar1)Fe(μ-Br)(THF)]2 (1a) was synthesized by reacting K[Cp(Ar1)] with [FeBr2(THF)2] in THF, and its molecular structure was determined by X-ray crystallography. Complex 1a easily loses its coordinated THF molecules under vacuum to form the solvent-free complex [Cp(Ar1)Fe(μ-Br)]2 (1b). The analogous complexes [Cp(Ar1)Co(μ-Br)]2 (2), [Cp(Ar1)Ni(μ-Br)]2 (3), and [Cp(Ar2)Ni(μ-Br)]2 (4) were synthesized from CoBr2 and [NiBr2(1,2-dimethoxyethane)]. The mononuclear, low-spin cobalt(III) and nickel(III) complexes [Cp(Ar2)MI2] (5, M = Co; 6, M = Ni) were prepared by reacting the radical Cp(Ar2) with NiI2 and CoI2. The complexes were characterized by NMR and UV-vis spectroscopies and by elemental analyses. Single-crystal X-ray structure analyses revealed that the dimeric complexes 1a, 1b, and 3 have a planar M2Br2 core, whereas 2 and 4 feature a puckered M2Br2 ring.

Abstract
The nickel hydride complex [Cp'Ni(μ-H)]2 (1, Cp' = 1,2,3,4-tetraisopropylcyclopentadienyl) is found to have a strikingly short Ni-Ni distance of 2.28638(3) Å. Variable temperature and field magnetic measurements indicate an unexpected triplet ground state for 1 with a large zero-field splitting of +90 K (63 cm(-1)). Electronic structure calculations (DFT and CASSCF/CASPT2) explain this ground state as arising from half occupation of two nearly degenerate Ni-Ni π* orbitals.

Abstract
A series of dinuclear Cl-bridged Ni(ii) complexes, 1a–1e, ligated by N-alkyl 2,2′-dipyridylamine ligands displayed high activity in ethylene oligomerisation, when activated with alkyl aluminium reagents. Steric and electronic effects as well as activation pathways were found to have a significant impact on catalyst activity and selectivity.
