Abstract
The reaction of [Cp‡Ru(μ-H)4RuCp‡] (1: Cp‡ = 1,2,4-tri-tert-butylcyclopentadienyl) with cyclic amines at 180 °C afforded a μ-η4-α-diimine complex, [(Cp‡Ru)2(μ-η4-C2nH4n-4N2)] (5a-c: n = 4, 5, 6), via dehydrogenative coupling of two cyclic amine molecules. An intermediate μ-η2-1-pyrroline complex, [{Cp‡Ru(μ-H)}2(μ-η2-C4H7N)] (2a), was synthesized by the photoreaction of 1 with pyrrolidine and 5a was shown to be formed via the disproportionation of 2a upon thermolysis yielding 1 and a μ-imidoyl complex, [(Cp‡Ru)2(μ-η2:η2-C4H6N)(μ-H)] (3a). Complex 3a was transformed into 5avia the incorporation of 1-pyrroline, which was formed by the reaction of 2a with H2. DFT calculations on the model complexes supported by C5H5 groups at the B3LYP level suggested that the μ-η4-α-diimine ligand is formed via the insertion of a terminal cyclic aminocarbene ligand into the Ru-C bond of the μ-imidoyl group followed by the elimination of hydrogen. Although 5a was inert under an Ar atmosphere, it catalyzed the dehydrogenative oxidation of pyrrolidine under an atmosphere of hydrogen to yield γ-butyrolactam. An active species possessing a terminal cyclic aminocarbene ligand was generated via the heterolytic activation of hydrogen at the Ru-N bond followed by C-C bond cleavage.

Abstract
Pincer complexes play an important role in organometallic chemistry; in particular, their use as homogeneous catalysts for organic transformations has increased dramatically in recent years. The high catalytic activity of such bis-cyclometallic complexes is associated with the easy tunability of their properties. Moreover, the phosphorus-based unsymmetrical pincers showed higher catalytic activity than the corresponding symmetrical analogues in several catalytic reactions. However, in modern literature, an increasing interest in the development of catalysts based on non-precious metals is observed. For example, nickel, which is an affordable and sustainable analogue of platinum and palladium, known for its low toxicity, has attracted increasing attention in the catalytic chemistry of transition metals in recent years. Thus, this mini-review is devoted to the recent advances in the chemistry of unsymmetrical phosphorus-based pincer nickel complexes, including the ligand design, the synthesis of nickel complexes and their catalytic applications.

Abstract
This report discloses a combined experimental and computational study aimed at understanding C-S reductive elimination from Co(iii) supported by a diarylamido/bis(phosphine) PNP pincer ligand. Divalent (PNP)Co-aryl complexes could be easily oxidized to five-coordinate Co(iii) derivatives, and anion metathesis provided five-coordinate (PNP)Co(Ar)(SAr') complexes of Co(iii). In contrast to their previously described (POCOP)Co(Ar)(SAr') analogs, but similarly to the (PNP)Rh(Ar)(SAr') and (POCOP)Rh(Ar)(SAr') analogs, (PNP)Co(Ar)(SAr') undergo C-S reductive elimination with the formation of the desired diarylsulfide product ArSAr'. DFT studies and experimental observations are consistent with a concerted process. However, in contrast to the Rh analogs, the immediate product of such reductive elimination, the unobserved Co(i) complex (PNP)Co, un-dergoes rapid comproportionation with the (PNP)Co(Ar)(SAr') starting material to give Co(ii) compounds (PNP)Co-Ar and (PNP)Co-SAr'.

Activation, Deactivation and Reversibility Phenomena in Homogeneous Catalysis: A Showcase based on the Chemistry of Rhodium/Phosphine Catalysts. Catalysts 2019. Abstract
In the present work, the rich chemistry of rhodium/phosphine complexes, which are applied as homogeneous catalysts to promote a wide range of chemical transformations, has been used to showcase how the in situ generation of precatalysts, the conversion of precatalysts into the actually active species, as well as the reaction of the catalyst itself with other components in the reaction medium (substrates, solvents, additives) can lead to a number of deactivation phenomena and thus impact the efficiency of a catalytic process. Such phenomena may go unnoticed or may be overlooked, thus preventing the full understanding of the catalytic process which is a prerequisite for its optimization. Based on recent findings both from others and the authors’ laboratory concerning the chemistry of rhodium/diphosphine complexes, some guidelines are provided for the optimal generation of the catalytic active species from a suitable rhodium precursor and the diphosphine of interest; for the choice of the best solvent to prevent aggregation of coordinatively unsaturated metal fragments and sequestration of the active metal through too strong metal–solvent interactions; for preventing catalyst poisoning due to irreversible reaction with the product of the catalytic process or impurities present in the substrate.

Abstract
Rhodium(iii) thiophosphinito pincer hydrido complexes were synthesised by C-H activation under exceptionally mild conditions at room temperature without additional base or irradiation and fully characterised by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. C-H activation under these mild conditions contrasts with the reactivity of related systems with POCOP ligands.

Abstract
An efficient method of selective β-arylation of oxime ethers was realized by using a palladium catalyst with diaryliodonium salts as the key arylation reagents. The reaction proceeded smoothly through the activation of inert C(sp3)-H bonds to give corresponding ketones and aldehydes. This convenient procedure can be successfully applied to construct new C(sp3)-C(sp2) bonds on a number of complex molecules derived from natural products and thus serves as a practical synthetic tool for direct late-stage C(sp3)-H functionalization.
