Abstract
A broad study on [4 + 1]- and [4 + 2]-cycloaddition reactions of a thiazole-2-thione-based 1,4-diphosphinine (1) is reported, with a special focus on reversible reactions. Reactions of 1 with group 13 carbenoids DippNacNacM (M = Al and Ga) afford [4 + 1] adducts that can be classified as Al and Ga phosphides or as 7-metalla-1,4-norbornadienes. Reactions of 1 with alkynes and alkenes result in [4 + 2]-cycloaddition, affording 1,4-diphosphabarrelenes. The effect of different dienophiles on the formation of 1,4-diphosphabarrelenes and their thermal [4 + 2]-cycloreversion reactions is studied from an experimental as well as theoretical point of view, opening the door for protection/deprotection strategies in this chemistry.

Abstract
Chelating ligands have had a tremendous impact in coordination chemistry and catalysis. Notwithstanding their success as strongly σ-donating and π-accepting ligands, to date no chelating bis[cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbenes] have been reported. Herein, we describe a chelating, C2-symmetric bis[cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbene] ligand, which was isolated as a racemic mixture. The isolation and structural characterization of its isostructural, pseudotetrahedral complexes with iron, cobalt, nickel, and zinc dihalides featuring eight-membered metallacycles demonstrates the binding ability of the bis(carbene). Reduction of the nickel(II) dibromide with potassium graphite produces a dicoordinate nickel(0) complex that features one of the narrowest angles measured in any unsupported dicoordinate transition metal complexes.

Abstract
In recent years, catalysis with base metal manganese has received a significant amount of interest. Catalysis with manganese complexes having N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) is relatively underdeveloped in comparison to the extensively investigated manganese catalysts possessing pincer ligands (particularly phosphine-based ligands). Herein, we describe the synthesis of two imidazolium salts decorated with picolyl arms (L1 and L2) as NHC precursors. Facile coordination of L1 and L2 with MnBr(CO)5 in the presence of a base resulted in the formation manganese(I)-NHC complexes (1 and 2) as an air-stable solid in good isolated yield. Single-crystal X-ray analysis revealed the structure of the cationic complexes [Mn(CO)3(NHC)][PF6] with tridentate N,C,N binding of the NHC ligand in a facile fashion. Along with a few known manganese(I) complexes, these Mn(I)-NHC complexes 1 and 2 were tested for the hydrosilylation of terminal alkynes. Complex 1 was proved to be an effective catalyst for the hydrosilylation of terminal alkynes with good selectivity toward the less thermodynamically stable β-(Z)-vinylsilanes. This method provided good regioselectivity (anti-Markovnikov addition) and stereoselectivity (β-(Z)-product). Experimental evidence suggested that the present hydrosilylation pathway involved an organometallic mechanism with manganese(I)-silyl species as a possible reactive intermediate.

Abstract
A porous organic polymer (POL-Xantphos) was synthesized and employed as a heterogeneous ligand for selective hydrosilylation of alkynes. It exhibits high selectivity and catalytic efficiency toward a broad range of alkynes. Owing to the confinement effect of the micropore structure, POL-Xantphos was far superior to the monomeric Xantphos ligands in controlling the selectivity. By performing hydrosilylation in a flow reactor system, separation and regeneration of the Ni/POL-Xantphos catalyst are easily achieved without any loss in selectivity or activity.

Abstract
A new NNN pincer (amine-pyridine-imine, API) cobalt complex, which is bench-stable and is applicable for the highly efficient and regioselective hydrosilylation of terminal alkynes, is developed. A broad set of α-vinylsilanes was successfully synthesized in good to high yields with up to 98/2 Markovnikov regioselectivity. This protocol can be readily scaled up for gram-scale synthesis and demonstrates the most efficient cobalt-catalyzed hydrosilylation of alkynes with turnover frequencies as high as 126 720 h-1 to date.

Abstract
A mild, selective and facile synthesis of vinylsilanes via a recyclable platinum nanoparticle catalysed hydrosilylation of alkynes is reported. Various functionalized alkynes are selectively hydrosilylated to furnish functional β-E vinylsilanes in high yields. The catalytic effectiveness, ease of catalyst recovery and recyclability of the polysiloxane stabilized Pt-nanoparticle catalyst are the major achievements of this work. Detailed in situ characterization using Electron Microscopy and controlled poisoning experiments supports the participation of Pt-nanoparticles as active catalysts.

Abstract
A direct and rapid access to highly efficient and recyclable carbon–rhodium hybrid catalysts for the hydrosilylation reaction is presented.
Strategies for combining the selectivity and efficiency of homogeneous organometallic catalysts with the versatility of heterogeneous catalysts are urgently needed. Herein a direct and modular methodology is presented that provides rapid access to well-defined carbon–rhodium hybrid catalysts. A pre-synthesized Rh(i) complex containing a carbene-triazole ligand was found to be stable for direct immobilization onto unactivated graphene, carbon black and glassy carbon electrodes. Characterization of the heterogeneous systems using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy/mass spectrometry (ICP-OES/MS), Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) confirmed the well-defined nature of the hybrid catalysts. The hybrid catalysts show excellent activity, comparable to that of the homogeneous system for the hydrosilylation of diphenylacetylene, with turnover numbers ranging from 5000 to 48 000. These catalysts are the best reported to date for the hydrosilylation of diphenylacetylene. In common with conventional heterogeneous catalysts, high reusability, due to a lack of Rh metal leaching, was also observed for all carbon–rhodium complexes under investigation.
