Abstract
100 mucous cysts of distal interphalangeal joint were treated by a radical excision that involved skin, cyst and dorsal capsular structures. The follow up was 2 years minimum, only two recurrence were noted, with other procedure the tate of recurrence is higher (10 to 20%). The proposed procedure is based on two hypothegenesis: skin localisation of mucous jelly, and degeneration of dorsal capsular structure of an arthritic joint.

Abstract
Intraosseous ganglion cyst of the lunate is an uncommon lesion and cause of wrist pain. Histopathologically it is identical to the common dorsal wrist ganglion and treatment by arthrotomy, curettage of the ganglion and bone graft resulted in clinical improvement in nine patients, six of whom became symptom-free.

Abstract
This study was undertaken to evaluate the efficacy of magnetic resonance imaging in (1) improving preoperative identification of soft tissue ganglia and in (2) enhancing management by defining their origins, attachments, and extensions. Magnetic resonance images of 17 ganglia were evaluated for intrinsic signal, internal structure, overall shape, and relationship to joints and tendon sheaths using a Philips 0.5 Tesla superconductive magnet with receiver dedicated surface coils. Magnetic resonance imaging proved particularly well suited to delineating soft tissue ganglia and characterizing several of their distinctive diagnostic features which are not optimally imaged by other modalities such as computed tomography and ultrasound.

Abstract
The intestinal anastomosis made under various conditions with and without treatment with cartilage-bone marrow extract were compared. The preoperative or postoperative administration of cartilage-bone marrow extract was found to increase mechanical strength of the intestinal anastomosis, even under unfavorable conditions such as hypoproteinemia, long term treatment of corticoid or reanastomosis. Formation of connective tissue and healing process were also found to be promoted by cartilage-bone marrow extract treatment.

Abstract
The intercellular matrices of bovine nasal cartilage, chick embryo perichordal cartilage, and chick embryo mesenchymal cells cultured in vitro have been examined by electron microscopy after staining them with Alcian Blue in salt solutions according to Scott & Dorling (1965). Matrix granules, which are typical components of cartilage at the ultrastructural level, are not visible after Alcian Blue staining and are replaced by alcianophilic rod-like particles, varying in length and width. With tissue cultures, Alcian Blue stains 40-120 A thick filaments which display an orthogonal and longitudinal relationship to collagen fibrils. We assume that cartilage matrix granules represent linear proteoglycans that are coiled as a consequence of the usual glutaraldehyde-osmium fixation. It is thought that Alcian Blue, on the other hand, contributes to the stabilization of the proteoglycans in their original structural arrangement. This stabilizing property presumably also results in the sharp visualization of fine filaments in the tissue culture matrix.

Abstract
Whole blood and plasma from animals in the acute stage of leptospirosis contained a toxic factor which produced a cytopathic effect on fibroblastic L cell monolayers. Firm adsorption of cytotoxic factor (CTF) to L cells occurred within 1 h. The highest titer of CTF in plasma was reached at 24 h and declined after 48 h after the inoculation of leptospires. Toxic effects were also obtained with intracerebral inoculation of mice with plasma containing CTF. Mice showed signs of motor instability and muscular spasms shortly after inoculation with CTF. Death usually occurred within 1 h.

strain 3341 was grown in association with primary fetal bovine kidney (PBK) and human embryonic skin-muscle fibroblastic (HE) cells in Eagle's minimal essential medium (MEM) with 5% sheep serum. Growth curves of leptospires in PBK and HE cell cultures showed no substantial increase in growth above that obtained in Eagle's MEM in the absence of tissue culture cells. This suggested that no stimulatory growth factors for leptospires were produced by the tissue cells. Fibroblastic cells of the PBK monolayer showed separation, deterioration, and, finally, complete disintegration. Epithelial-like cells remained unaffected. HE cells showed the same cytopathic effect as PBK fibroblastic cells, indicating that this effect was not limited to PBK fibroblastic cells. Warthin-Starry stains of PBK and HE cell monolayers showed masses of leptospires adhering to fibroblastic cells, whereas only a few were seen on epithelial-like cells. Large numbers of leptospires on the surface of fibroblastic cells are very likely associated with the cytopathic effect. Dislodgment of leptospires from fibroblastic cells did not increase the total number of spirochetes in the culture. This indicated that leptospiral growth did not occur on the surface of these cells.
