Abstract
A 71-year-old woman with a history of blurred vision in her right eye for nearly two months came to our attention. A complete ophthalmological evaluation, including best-corrected visual acuity measurement, fundus examination, spectral-domain optical coherence tomography, fluorescein angiography, and indocyanine green angiography, was performed. Multimodal imaging showed the presence of a polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) lesion surrounded by diffuse hard exudates in the macular area. Our patient received three monthly intravitreal injections of brolucizumab during the loading phase, followed by an intravitreal injection every eight weeks for a total of 48 weeks of follow-up. The therapy appeared to be effective for improving both visual and anatomical outcomes revealing an important regression of the PCV and an almost complete reabsorption of lipid exudates. Intravitreal brolucizumab could be considered an effective treatment in the management of lipid exudation in PCV patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To describe the real-world outcomes of photodynamic therapy (PDT) as a rescue therapy in eyes with polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) refractory to anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) monotherapy in a British cohort of patients. METHODS This is a retrospective chart review of 53 eyes with PCV. Based on the timing of PDT, the eyes were stratified into two groups (9 in the Initial-PDT group, 44 in the Deferred group). The number of anti-VEGF injections/year and the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) before and after PDT were analysed. Multivariate regression model was created to identify factors predictive of visual outcome and treatment burden after PDT. RESULTS The Deferred group received a mean of 9.4 injections/year but significantly reduced to 7.2 after PDT (p < 0.001). The Initial-PDT group required significantly fewer injections after PDT compared to the Deferred group (p = 0.004). The Deferred group experienced improvement in BCVA from 58.7 letters at baseline to 63.8 at 18-months follow-up (p < 0.001), but no significant increase was observed in the Initial-PDT group (p = 0.310). Better baseline BCVA is associated with higher likelihood of achieving good BCVA ≥ 70 letters after PDT (Odd Ratio=1.12, 95% CI: 1.03-1.21, p = 0.006), while increased number of anti-VEGF injections/year before PDT reduces the likelihood of easing treatment burden to ≥12 weeks apart between each injection after PDT (Odd Ratio=0.724, 95% CI: 0.58-0.91, p = 0.006). CONCLUSIONS PDT as a rescue therapy is beneficial in the long-term management of PCV, particularly in eyes that had experienced a significant period of prior exposure to anti-VEGF monotherapy.

Baseline Optical Coherence Tomography Parameters That May Influence 6 Months Treatment Outcome of Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy Eyes with Combination Therapy: A Short-Term Pilot Study. Abstract
Although optical coherence tomography (OCT) parameters have assisted in the diagnosis of polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV), its potential to evaluate treatment outcomes has not been established. The purpose of this pilot study was to evaluate baseline OCT parameters that may influence treatment outcome in PCV eyes with combination therapy. In this single-centered, prospective study, patients were recruited with at least one treatment-naïve PCV eye and treated with combination therapy of intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor and photodynamic therapy. Best-corrected distance and near visual acuity (DVA and NVA), and contrast sensitivity (CS) were recorded at baseline and six months after treatment. OCT parameters were determined. Twenty-six eyes of 26 patients aged between 51 to 83 years were evaluated. In eyes that had disrupted external limiting membrane (ELM), photoreceptors inner and outer segment (IS-OS) junction at 1000 micron of fovea at baseline showed low mean visual functions after 6 months of treatment. Eyes with foveal sub-retinal fluid (SRF) and polyp at central 1000 micron of fovea at baseline showed significantly worse DVA and CS after six months. Thus, the presence of foveal SRF, foveal polyp, disrupted ELM, and IS-OS junction at baseline significantly influenced the six months' visual outcome in PCV eyes treated with combination therapy.

Abstract
PURPOSE To understand timing of complete polypoidal regression on indocyanine green angiography (ICGA) after aflibercept injections for polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV). DESIGN Multicenter prospective study. PARTICIPANTS Adults with treatment-naïve PCV. METHODS After institutional review board approval, participants were enrolled and followed up for 1 year, from Apr 1, 2016, through Dec 30, 2018, at 2 university-based centers in Thailand. Diagnosis of PCV was based on the Efficacy and Safety of Verteporfin Photodynamic Therapy in Combination with Ranibizumab or Alone versus Ranibizumab Monotherapy in Patients with Symptomatic Macular Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy criteria. Eligible eyes received fixed-dose aflibercept injections (3 monthly then every 8 weeks), or monthly if fluid persisted on OCT. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) was administered when fluid persisted despite 6 consecutive injections. Indocyanine green angiography was performed at baseline and then every 8 weeks. The 25-item National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire (NEI VFQ-25) was administered at baseline, 6 months, and 1 year. Two retina specialists reviewed posttreatment ICGA, categorized into: complete regression (complete disappearance of polypoidal lesions), partial regression (reduced in size or number), or no regression. Disagreements were resolved through open adjudication. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Timing of complete regression over 1 year. RESULTS Final analysis included 40 eyes (39 participants; 100% Thai, 59% women; mean age±standard deviation, 64 ± 8.3 years). At baseline, 90% had 5 or more polypoidal lesions. Ninety-five percent received aflibercept monotherapy, and 5% received rescue PDT per protocol. Polypoidal statuses at 1 year were 55% complete, 40% partial, and 5% no regression. Cumulative rates of complete regression at 2, 4, 6, and 12 months were 28%, 33%, 43%, and 55%. Of 22 eyes with complete regression at 1 year, complete regression was identified first at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 months in 50%, 9%, 18%, 5%, 9%, and 9%, respectively. Cumulative rates of complete regression among these eyes at 2, 6, and 12 months were 50%, 77%, and 100%, respectively. Median duration of complete regression was 3 months (interquartile range, 2-6 months). Median visual acuity improved from 20/125 (Snellen equivalent) to 20/50; median NEI VFQ-25 scores improved from 80 to 93 from baseline to 1 year. CONCLUSIONS Complete polypoidal regression could occur as early as 2 months after aflibercept injections. Most PCV eyes with complete polypoidal regression at 1 year already showed complete regression within the first 6 months. These findings support consideration of aflibercept for PCV to achieve both anatomic and visual outcomes.

Abstract
The objective of this study was to compare visual parameters and retinal layers’ morphology pre-treatment (baseline) and 6 months post-treatment in polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) eyes. A single centre, longitudinal, prospective study was conducted at a public tertiary hospital of Malaysia. Visual parameters including distance and near visual acuity (DVA and NVA), contrast sensitivity (CS), reading speed (RS), and different qualitative and quantitative optical coherence tomography (OCT) parameters were evaluated pre- and 6 months post-treatment. Thirty-three naïve PCV eyes of 32 patients (mean age of 67.62 years) were evaluated pre- and post-treatment of intravitreal ranibizumab with and without photodynamic therapy. After treatment, sub retinal fluid decreased from 27 eyes (84.35%) at baseline to 7 eyes (21.88%) at 6 months while pigment epithelium detachment decreased from 32 eyes (100%) at base line to 15 eyes (46.87%) at 6 months. Mean pre-treatment quantitative morphological OCT retinal parameters including thickness and volume of central sub field, center thickness, center minimum, and maximum thickness reduced significantly. Similarly, all visual parameters including DVA, NVA, CS, and RS showed statistically significant improvement. While 89% of the eyes showed improvement in CS, 78%, 71%, and 65% of the eyes showed improvement in NVA, RS, and DVA, respectively. Thus, CS was the most treatment responsive visual parameter.

Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate the one-year efficacy of intravitreal aflibercept injection in polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) with best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) of 20 / 40 or better. METHODS This was a multicenter retrospective study. The medical records of patients diagnosed with treatment-naïve PCV were retrospectively reviewed. Patients with an initial BCVA of 20 / 40 or better and who had undergone intravitreal aflibercept injection were included. Patients were treated with three consecutive monthly injections, followed by pro re nata regimen according to the clinician's discretion at variable interval visits. The proportions of eyes for which BCVA was maintained (≤ 0.2 logarithm of the minimum angle of resolution change) or improved at 12 months were evaluated. The changes of BCVA, central subfield macular thickness (CSMT), pigment epithelial detachment, and subretinal fluid also were assessed. RESULTS A total of 86 eyes were included. The mean number of injections for 12 months of treatment was 5.4 ± 1.7. BCVA was maintained or improved in 94.2% (81 / 86) of cases. Mean BCVA (logarithm of the minimum angle of resolution) had changed from the baseline (0.23 ± 0.09) at 3 months (0.21 ± 0.14), 6 months (0.24 ± 0.22), and 12 months (0.20 ± 0.18), but with no statistical significance. CSMT had improved significantly from the baseline (336.1 ± 97.3 μm) at 3 months (223.6 ± 47.22 μm), 6 months (239.6 ± 64.2 μm), and 12 months (223.8 ± 47.9 μm). Pigment epithelial detachment was observed in 93% of cases at the baseline, 72.1% at 3 months, and 69.8% at 12 months, showing a significant decrease at all observation points. Subretinal fluid was observed in 91.9% of cases at the baseline, 20.9% at 3 months, and 29.1% at 12 months, showing a significant decrease at all observation points. CONCLUSIONS In cases of PCV with good visual acuity, intravitreal aflibercept injections decreased CSMT and were effective in maintaining visual acuity.

Abstract
PURPOSE To estimate the polyp regression rate and treatment prognosis of different interventions for polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) and clarify its baseline characteristics. METHODS The PubMed, EMBASE, and Ovid were searched up to January 2020 to identify related studies. R software version 3.6.3 was used to perform the statistical analyses. Results in proportion with 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated by means of the Freeman-Tukey variant of arcsine square transformation. Chi-squared test and I2 statistics were used to evaluate the statistical heterogeneity. Sensitivity analysis and subgroup analyses were performed to identify the source of heterogeneity. RESULTS This meta-analysis included 104 studies with 5816 patients. The pooling results indicated the general rate of complete polyp regression at post-treatment 12 months was 64% (95% CI [57~71%]), 89% (95% CI [81~95%]) for photodynamic therapy (PDT) monotherapy, 78% (95% CI [68~86%]) for PDT plus anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF), and 42% (95% CI [35~49%]) for anti-VEGF monotherapy; PDT plus anti-VEGF showed the best efficacy in visual improvement and achieved the highest rate of dry macula (91%, 95% CI [78~99%]), while anti-VEGF monotherapy achieved the lowest polyp recurrence rate (14%, 95% CI [8~20%]); PDT monotherapy showed the best efficacy in pigment epithelial detachment regression (66%, 95% CI [58~83%]). Additionally, the baseline characteristics of PCV were also well described. CONCLUSION PDT plus anti-VEGF is still valuable for the management of PCV; it could achieve not only satisfactory anatomical outcomes like dry macula rate and polyp regression rate but also ideal visual prognosis like BCVA improvement.

Abstract
Polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) is the predominant subtype of exudative age-related macular degeneration in Asians. Although photodynamic therapy (PDT) is widely used for PCV treatment, its long-term beneficial effects are unsatisfactory. Accumulating clinical investigations suggest that combined therapy with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) and PDT is superior to PDT monotherapy. However, the optimal time of anti-VEGF before or after PDT remains controversial, hence it needs to further explore the mechanism underlying combined therapy. PDT causes selective damage to endothelial cells, which determines its angio-occlusive efficiency, yet the impact of anti-VEGF on PDT-induced endothelial injury is unclear. Here, we found that pre- compared to post-treatment with anti-VEGF ranibizumab (rani) significantly aggravates PDT injury in the rhesus macaque choroid-retinal endothelial (RF/6A) cell line. PDT activates apoptosis, necroptosis and NLRP3 inflammasome in RF/6A cells. Pre-treatment with rani promotes PDT-caused apoptosis via triggering caspase 8-mediated extrinsic apoptosis, and caspase 8 might also play a pivotal role in the rani’s function of suppressing PDT-induced necroptosis and NLRP3 inflammasome activation. Our results implicate that pre-treatment with rani may enhance the angio-occlusive efficiency of PDT and alleviate endothelial inflammatory response, which gives it a great advantage over post-treatment.

Abstract
PURPOSE To compare the 2-year outcomes of combination therapy using intravitreal ranibizumab and photodynamic therapy with those of fixed-dosing intravitreal aflibercept monotherapy as initial treatment for treatment-naïve polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed 63 eyes of 61 patients with treatment-naïve polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy who had undergone at least 24 months of follow-up. In total, 43 eyes underwent intravitreal ranibizumab-photodynamic therapy combination therapy and 20 eyes underwent fixed-dosing intravitreal aflibercept monotherapy. Visual outcomes and the number of treatments were compared between the two groups. RESULTS The mean logarithm of minimal angle of resolution best-corrected visual acuity significantly improved from 0.48 ± 0.41 at baseline to 0.30 ± 0.47 at 24 months in the intravitreal ranibizumab-photodynamic therapy group (p = .0002) and from 0.30 ± 0.18 at baseline to 0.16 ± 0.18 at 24 months in the intravitreal aflibercept group (p = .004), with no significant intergroup differences. The mean number of intravitreal ranibizumab or intravitreal aflibercept injections over 24 months was 5.7 ± 4.5 in the intravitreal ranibizumab-photodynamic therapy group and 12.2 ± 3.8 in the intravitreal aflibercept group (p < .0001). CONCLUSION The intravitreal ranibizumab-photodynamic therapy combination therapy was noninferior to fixed-dosing intravitreal aflibercept monotherapy in improving visual acuity and required fewer injections.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the prognostic factors for the combined therapy of ranibizumab and prompt verteporfin photodynamic therapy (vPDT) for eyes with polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV). METHODS Sixty-two PCV eyes of 62 patients that received the initial treatment of intravitreal ranibizumab followed by vPDT within 1 week plus a 2nd intravitreal ranibizumab 1 month later in one single medical center were retrospectively enrolled. Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and parameters obtained from optical coherence tomography at baseline, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year were measured and compared. Factors associated with polyp regression, recurrent hemorrhage and visual improvement were analyzed. RESULTS After the loading treatment, complete and partial polyp regression was achieved in 53.6% and 39.3% of cases, respectively at Month 3. The mean logarithm of the minimum angle of resolution of BCVA improved from 0.64 ± 0.38 to 0.55 ± 0.46 (P = 0.008) at Month 12. Recurrent hemorrhage (P = 0.001) and previous anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) treatment (P = 0.017) were associated with poorer visual improvement at Month 12. Incomplete polyp regression (P = 0.038) and previous anti-VEGF treatment (P = 0.005) were associated with a higher risk of recurrent hemorrhage. CONCLUSIONS Recurrent hemorrhage was associated with poor visual improvement after combined ranibizumab and vPDT for PCV. Complete polyp eradication was associated with a lower risk of recurrent hemorrhage. Patients who had previously received anti-VEGF were associated with recurrent hemorrhage and poor visual improvement; more frequent follow-ups and more aggressive subsequent treatments may be needed for these cases.

Abstract
AIM To report a cohort of patients with polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) treated with photodynamic therapy (PDT) followed by intravitreal ranibizumab injection 24-48h later, and to compare the results between eyes with PCV treated by PDT followed by intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injection and intravitreal anti-VEGF injection followed by PDT by Meta-analysis. METHODS Retrospective study and systematic literature review. Medical records of patients with PCV who were initially treated using PDT followed by intravitreal ranibizumab injection 24-48h after PDT and had completed at least 2y follow-up were reviewed and analyzed. Clinical data, including age, sex, best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), fundus photograph, fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green angiography and optical coherence tomography were investigated. A systematic literature review was also conducted, and a visual outcome of studies over 1y was compared using Meta-analysis. RESULTS A total of 52 patients were included in the study. Mean BCVA at baseline and follow-up at 1 or 2y were 0.71±0.61, 0.51±0.36 and 0.68±0.51 logMAR, respectively. The cumulative hazard rate for recurrence at 1 and 2y follow-up was 15.4% and 30.3% respectively. The percentage of eyes with polyps regression at 3, 12 and 24mo follow-up was 88.5%, 84.6% and 67.3% respectively. A Meta-analysis based on 22 independent studies showed the overall vision improvements at 1, 2 and 3y follow-up were 0.13±0.04 (P<0.001), 0.12±0.03 (P<0.001), 0.16±0.06 (P<0.001), respectively. The proportion of polyps regression at 1y follow-up was 64.6% (95%CI: 51.5%, 77.7%, P<0.001) in 434 eyes treated by intravitreal anti-VEGF agents before PDT and 76.0% (95%CI: 64.8%, 87.3%, P=0.001) in 199 eyes treated by intravitreal anti-VEGF agents after PDT. CONCLUSION Intravitreal ranibizumab injection 24-48h following PDT effectively stabilizes visual acuity in the eye with PCV. PDT followed by intravitreal anti-VEGF agents may contribute to a relatively higher proportion of polyps' regression as compared to that of intravitreal anti-VEGF before PDT.

Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate the efficacy and adverse effects of using low-dose intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide (IVTA) to preserve vision in polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) eyes. METHODS This retrospective chart review study examined 8 eyes of 7 PCV patients, for whom verteporfin photodynamic therapy (vPDT) or antivascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapy was not affordable/available and also with intolerable risk because of underlying cardiovascular and/or cerebrovascular ischemia. Low-dose IVTA (1 mg/0.025 mL) monotherapy was administered and repeated every 4 weeks if intraretinal edema or subretinal fluid persisted. RESULTS The median follow-up time was 26.4 months. Three eyes (3/8) maintained their initial best-corrected visual acuity and 4 eyes (4/8) exhibited improvement, whereas 1 eye (1/8) sustained some loss. The mean injection number per month was 0.7 for the first 6 months, after which it decreased to 0.4. In regard to adverse effects, intraocular pressure (IOP) of more than 21 mmHg was noted as persisting for a few weeks in 4 eyes and that of more than 30 mmHg was noted once in 1 eye. The increased IOP was adequately controlled by using IOP-lowering agents. Two initially phakic eyes each underwent cataract surgery in the 12th and 14th months after treatment. CONCLUSIONS Low-dose IVTA therapy may be valuable for preserving the vision of PCV patients, while vPDT or anti-VEGF is not affordable/available or of those with underlying diseases for whom anti-VEGF therapy is with intolerable risk.

Abstract
Polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy is a relatively common type of degenerative macular disease among the Chinese population. This study aims to describe the therapeutic responses to combination therapy with photodynamic therapy, intravitreal aflibercept and intravitreal dexamethasone in patients with polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy. A prospective series of 17 eyes of 13 patients suffering from treatment-naïve polypoidal choroidal vasculoapathy were recruited. All cases received triple therapy with photodynamic therapy, intravitreal aflibercept and intravitreal dexamethasone and one year outcomes were reported. The baseline visual acuity was 0.65logMAR +/- 0.38 (Snellen 20/80 to 20/100). The visual acuity at 1 week, 3 months, 6 months and one year after treatment were significantly improved to 0.522logMAR+/- 0.365 (P < 0.04) (Snellen 20/70), 0.363logMAR+/-0.382 (Snellen 20/50;P < 0.001), 0.377logMAR +/- 0.440 (Snellen 20/50;p = 0.005), and 0.35logMAR +/- 0.407 (Snellen 20/40;P < 0.001), respectively. The baseline central foveal thickness (CFT) on optical coherence tomography (OCT) was 394.7 +/- 70.6 μm. CFT at 6 months and 1 year after treatment were significantly reduced to 259 +/- 54 μm (p = 0.004) and 271 +/- 49.7 μm(p = 0.016), respectively. Triple therapy with photodynamic therapy, intravitreal aflibercept and intravitreal dexamethasone is an effective treatment for polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy. The majority of cases responded well with significant responses observed as early as 1 week after initiation of therapy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the relationship between hypertension and recurrent subretinal hemorrhage (SRH) in eyes with polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV). DESIGN Retrospective, comparative case series. PARTICIPANTS Thirty-eight eyes of 38 patients with PCV. METHODS Ocular findings and clinical features were analyzed retrospectively in patients with PCV enrolled from January 2011 to December 2013. The patients were divided into 2 groups according to the presence of recurrent SRH after successful initial treatment (rebleeding vs nonrebleeding) and were subdivided into those with and without hypertension, based on history of hypertension, systolic blood pressure (SBP) >150 mm Hg. The relationship between hypertension and recurrent SRH was analyzed. RESULTS Thirty-eight patients (38 eyes) were included in this analysis. High SBP or history of hypertension was significantly more frequent in the rebleeding group than in the nonrebleeding group (p = 0.014). Subgroup analysis showed that mean time until recurrent SRH was significantly shorter in the hypertensive group than in the nonhypertensive group (p = 0.025). The cumulative incidence of recurrent SRH at 2 years was 43% in the hypertensive group and 20% in the nonhypertensive group. Cox regression after adjustment for age showed that hypertension was associated with a 3.9-fold greater risk of recurrent SRH (p = 0.039). CONCLUSIONS Recurrent SRH in patients with PCV was more common in hypertensive subjects. Undiagnosed hypertension should be considered when assessing the prognosis of patients with PCV.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the incidence rate of massive submacular hemorrhage (SMH) in patients with polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) and analyze the associated risk factors. DESIGN Retrospective cohort study. METHODS Patients diagnosed with PCV from May 2003 to May 2014 were included. Two hundred forty-five eyes of 245 patients were enrolled. The time between the initial visit to the clinic with subjective visual symptoms and the date of massive SMH was recorded. SMH larger than 4 disc diameters was defined as massive SMH. Age; hypertension; visual acuity (VA); indocyanine green angiography findings, including the greatest linear dimension, largest polyp size, and PCV type (cluster vs non-cluster); and treatment methods were reviewed for risk factor analysis using Kaplan-Meier survival and Cox regression analyses. RESULTS The incidence rate of massive SMH within 1 year after the initial visit was 2.45%. Massive SMH occurred within 3, 5, and 10 years after the first visit in 6.17%, 11.09%, and 29.85% of patients, respectively. Cox regression analysis revealed that the cluster type of PCV was significantly associated with massive SMH (hazard ratio [HR], 3.418; P = .003). Photodynamic therapy followed by anti-vascular endothelial growth factor injection lowered the risk of massive SMH (HR = .242; P = .047]. Final VA in eyes with massive SMH was significantly lower than that in patients without massive SMH (1.34 ± 0.66 vs 0.63 ± 0.53 logMAR; P < .001). CONCLUSIONS Patients with PCV who develop massive SMH experience severe vision loss. The incidence rate of massive SMH in PCV increases with time. The cluster type of polyp in PCV is a significant risk factor for massive SMH.

Abstract
Photodynamic therapy (PDT), as an emerging clinically approved modality, has been used for treatment of various cancer diseases. Conventional PDT strategies are mainly focused on superficial lesions because the wavelength of illumination light of most clinically approved photosensitizers (PSs) is located in the UV/VIS range that possesses limited tissue penetration ability, leading to ineffective therapeutic response for deep-seated tumors. The combination of PDT and nanotechnology is becoming a promising approach to fight against deep tumors. Here, the rapid development of new PDT modalities based on various smartly designed nanocomposites integrating with conventionally used PSs for deep tumor treatments is introduced. Until now many types of multifunctional nanoparticles have been studied, and according to the source of excitation energy they can be classified into three major groups: near infrared (NIR) light excited nanomaterials, X-ray excited scintillating/afterglow nanoparticles, and internal light emission excited nanocarriers. The in vitro and in vivo applications of these newly developed PDT modalities are further summarized here, which highlights their potential use as promising nano-agents for deep tumor therapy.
