Abstract
BACKGROUND Anti-heat shock protein (HSP) autoantibodies are detected in autoimmune diseases. We sought to ascertain whether anti-HSP10 IgG is present in patients with CSU and to elucidate the role of HSP10 in CSU pathogenesis. METHOD Using a human proteome microarray, six potential autoantibodies had higher expression in 10 CSU samples compared with 10 normal controls (NCs). Among them, HSP10 IgG autoantibody was quantified by immune dot-blot assay in sera from 86 CSU patients and 44 NCs. The serum levels of HSP10 and microRNA-101-5p were measured in CSU patients and NCs. The effects of HSP10 and miR-101-5p on mast cell degranulation in response to IgE, compound 48/80, and platelet-activating factor (PAF) were investigated. RESULTS CSU patients had higher IgG positivity to HSP10 (40.7% vs. 11.4%, p = .001), lower serum HSP10 levels (5.8 ± 3.6 vs. 12.2 ± 6.6 pg/mL, p < .001) than in NCs, and their urticaria severity was associated with anti-HSP10 IgG positivity, while HSP10 levels were related to urticaria control status. MiR-101-5p was increased in CSU patients. PAF enhanced IL4 production in PBMCs from CSU patients. IL-4 upregulated miR-101-5p and reduced HSP10 expression in keratinocytes. Transfection of miR-101-5p reduced HSP10 expression in keratinocytes. MiR-101-5p promoted PAF-induced mast cell degranulation, while HSP10 specifically prevented it. CONCLUSION A new autoantibody, anti-HSP10 IgG was detected in CSU patients, which showed a significant correlation with UAS7 scores. A decreased serum HSP10 level was associated with upregulation of miR-101-5p due to increased IL-4 and PAF in CSU patients. Modulation of miR-101-5p and HSP10 may be a novel therapeutic approach for CSU.

Abstract
The immune system plays a key role in the suppression and progression of basal cell carcinoma (BCC). The primary aetiological factor for BCC development is exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UVR) which, particularly in lighter Fitzpatrick skin types, leads to the accumulation of DNA damage. UVR has roles in the generation of an immunosuppressive environment, facilitating cancer progression. Rates of BCC are elevated in immunosuppressed patients, and BCC may undergo spontaneous immune-mediated regression. Histologic and immunohistochemical profiling of BCCs consistently demonstrates the presence of an immune infiltrate and associated immune proteins. Early studies of immune checkpoint inhibitors reveal promising results in BCC. Therefore, the host immune system and tumor responses to it are important in BCC pathogenesis. Understanding these interactions will be beneficial for disease prognostication and therapeutic decisions.

Abstract
Mast cells are important sentinel cells in host defense against infection and major effector cells in allergic disease. The role of these cells in cancer settings has been widely debated. The diverse range of mast cell functions in both immunity and tissue remodeling events, such as angiogenesis, provides multiple opportunities for mast cells to modify the tumor microenvironment. In this review, we consider both skin and breast cancer settings to address the controversy surrounding the importance of mast cells in the host response to tumors. We specifically address the key mediators produced by mast cells which impact tumor development. The role of environmental challenges in modifying mast cell responses and opportunities to modify mast cell responses to enhance anti-tumor immunity are also considered. While the mast cell's role in many cancer contexts is complicated and poorly understood, the activities of these tissue resident and radioresistant cells can provide important opportunities to enhance anti-cancer responses and limit cancer development.

Abstract
Metabolomics is a powerful tool for the investigation of interactions between diet, nutrients, and human metabolism. Ecklonia cava is an edible brown alga that is abundantly found in Korea and Japan and contains unique polyphenols referred to as phlorotannins. However, there are few metabolomics studies related to the effects of polyphenols in humans. In this study, we performed a mass spectrometry-based metabolomics analysis of urine samples from participants with a body mass index (BMI) higher than 25 kg/m2 and lower than 30 kg/m2 to investigate the effects of the intake of seapolynol isolated from E. cava. Metabolomic profiling showed that the levels of riboflavin, urocanic acid, 5-hydroxy-6-methoxyindole glucuronide, and guanidino valeric acid were significantly increased in the seapolynol intake group compared with the placebo group. A correlation analysis was performed to identify the association between the metabolites' levels and clinical characteristics related to body fat. Among the metabolites whose concentrations changed in the seapolynol intake group, riboflavin was associated with BMI, body weight, fat mass, and percent body fat. These findings suggest that the decreased body fat induced by the intake of seapolynol is related to an increase in the antioxidant effect of riboflavin.

Abstract
Storage temperature influences meat color stability and quality. This study was performed to quality change-associated metabolites profiles using a nontargeted liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS)-based method. Beef longissimus dorsi samples were purchased immediately after slaughter, and then stored at room temperature, 4 °C and 0 °C. Water holding capacity (WHC), moisture content and pH value of the muscle samples were detected. Muscle samples and quality control samples were then prepared for nontargeted LC-MS/MS system, followed by identification of distinct metabolites. Pearson correlation coefficients between metabolites and quality indexes were calculated. Storage reduced pH values of beef, and room temperature and 4 °C displayed the lowest pH value. Moisture content and WHC in beef muscles, especially WHC declined obviously during the first 24 hr. The significantly altered metabolites profiles in meat samples at 0, 3.5, and 7 days during 4 °C storage were identified using LC-MS/MS. Most metabolites showed linear changes during storage (0 to 7 days). Using Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis, we found 1(α)-naphthol, urocanic acid, tyramine, guanine, histamine, picolinic acid, 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde, and hypoxanthine were increased, and 2-(S-glutathionyl)acetyl glutathione and glutathione were decreased in beef during 4 °C storage. Correlation analysis showed there were significantly correlations between metabolites and meat quality indexes (WHC, moisture content, and pH). In summary, 1(α)-naphthol, urocanic acid, tyramine, guanine, histamine, picolinic acid, 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde, and hypoxanthine, proved to be harmful to human body, accumulated gradually, especially after 3.5 days during storage at 4 °C. While the contents of beneficial substances, including 2-(S-glutathionyl)acetyl glutathione and glutathione, were decreased, which provided reference for the nutrition guidance of using beef meat.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW The purpose of this article is to review treatment advances in ocular allergy that include the treatment of the various signs and symptoms of the allergic inflammatory response of the ocular surface. RECENT FINDINGS Recent studies have demonstrated improved pharmacological effect of topical agents with artificial tears and cold compresses; brimonidine, a new ophthalmic decongestant which has demonstrated decreased rebound conjunctivitis; and potential use of contact lens and other novel delivery instruments to increase medication retention time. Currently, there have been limited advances in novel ophthalmic treatments. Non-pharmacological interventions have demonstrated in a randomized control study that artificial tears and the use cold compresses alone or in combination with ophthalmic antihistamines can enhance the effectiveness of a traditional pharmacological therapy. The primary advances have been the start of head-to-head studies comparing various agents actively being used in the treatment of ocular allergy. In addition, there has been increasing interest in the development of novel delivery systems to increase residence time of pharmacological agents in the ocular surface such as nanoparticles, microfilms; examining novel pathways of controlling the allergic inflammatory response of the ocular surface such as modulation of cytokines, transcription factors, and immunophilins.
