Quantum Coherence of Atoms with Dipole–Dipole Interaction and Collective Damping in the Presence of an Optical Field

We investigate the effect of the interatomic distances and thermal reservoir on the coherence dynamics of the atoms considering the dipole–dipole interaction (DDI) and collective damping effect (CDE). We show that the control and protection of the coherence are very sensitive to the interatomic distances and reservoir temperature. Furthermore, we explore the distance effect between atoms and reservoir temperature on the time evolution of the total quantum correlation between the two atoms. The obtained results could be useful to execute these quantum phenomena and also considered as a good indication to implement realistic experiments with optimal conditions.

Quantum Correlation via Skew Information and Bell Function Beyond Entanglement in a Two-Qubit Heisenberg XYZ Model: Effect of the Phase Damping

In this paper, we analyze the dynamics of non-local correlations (NLCs) in an anisotropic two-qubit Heisenberg XYZ model under the effect of the phase damping. An analytical solution is obtained by applying a method based on the eigenstates and the eigenvalues of the Hamiltonian. It is observed that the generated NLCs are controlled by the Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction, the purity indicator, the interaction with the environment, and the anisotropy. Furthermore, it is found that the quantum correlations, as well as the sudden death and sudden birth phenomena, depend on the considered physical parameters. In particular, the system presents a special correlation: the skew-information correlation. The log-negativity and the uncertainty-induced non-locality exhibit the sudden-change behavior. The purity of the initial states plays a crucial role on the generated nonlocal correlations. These correlations are sensitive to the DM interaction, anisotropy, and phase damping.

Thermalization of Finite Many-Body Systems by a Collision Model

We construct a collision model description of the thermalization of a finite many-body system by using careful derivation of the corresponding Lindblad-type master equation in the weak coupling regime. Using the example of a two-level target system, we show that collision model thermalization is crucially dependent on the various relevant system and bath timescales and on ensuring that the environment is composed of ancillae which are resonant with the system transition frequencies. Using this, we extend our analysis to show that our collision model can lead to thermalization for certain classes of many-body systems. We establish that for classically correlated systems our approach is effective, while we also highlight its shortcomings, in particular with regards to reaching entangled thermal states.

Time dynamics of quantum coherence and monogamy in a non-Markovian environment

The time evolution of the distribution and shareability of quantum coherence of a tripartite system in a non-Markovian environment is examined. The total coherence can be decomposed into various contributions, ranging from local, global bipartite and global tripartite, which characterize the type of state. We identify coherence revivals for non-Markovian systems for all the contributions of coherence. The local coherence is found to be much more robust under the environmental coupling due to an effective smaller coupling to the reservoir. This allows us to devise a characterization of a quantum state in terms of a coherence tuple on a multipartite state simply by examining various combinations of reservoir couplings. The effect of the environment on the shareability of quantum coherence, as defined using the monogamy of coherence, is investigated and found that the sign of the monogamy is a preserved quantity under the decoherence. We conjecture that the monogamy of coherence is a conserved property under local incoherent processes.
