Comparative study of heat and mass transfer of generalized MHD Oldroyd-B bio-nano fluid in a permeable medium with ramped conditions

Free convective trickling over a porous medium of fractional nanofluid with MHD and heat source/sink

Nanofluids are considered as smart fluids that can improve heat and mass transfer and have numerous applications in industry and engineering fields such as electronics, manufacturing, and biomedicine. For this reason, blood-based nanofluids with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as nanoparticles in the presence of a magnetic field are discussed. The nanofluid traverses the porous medium. The nanofluids move on a vertical plate that can be moved. The free convection heat transfer mode is considered when the heat source and heat fluxes are constant. Convective flows are often used in engineering processes, especially in heat removal, such as geothermal and petroleum extraction, building construction, and so on. Heat transfer is used in chemical processing, power generation, automobile manufacturing, air conditioning, refrigeration, and computer technology, among others. Heat transfer fluids such as water, methanol, air and glycerine are used as heat exchange media because these fluids have low thermal conductivity compared to other metals. We have studied the effects of MHD on the heat and velocity of nanofluids keeping efficiency in mind. Laplace transform is used to solve the mathematical model. The velocity and temperature profiles of MHD flow with free convection of nanofluids were described using Nusselt number and skin friction coefficient. An accurate solution is obtained for both the velocity and temperature profiles. The graph shows the effects of the different parameters on the velocity and temperature profiles. The temperature profile improved with increasing estimates of the fraction parameter and the volume friction parameter. The velocity of the nanofluid is also a de-escalating function with the increasing values of the magnetic parameter and the porosity parameter. The thickness of the thermal boundary layer decreases with increasing values of the fractional parameter.

Micropolar Dusty Fluid: Coriolis Force Effects on Dynamics of MHD Rotating Fluid When Lorentz Force Is Significant

The main objective of this investigation to examine the momentum and thermal transportation of rotating dusty micropolar fluid flux with suspension of conducting dust particles across the stretched sheet. The novelty of the flow model is the exploration of the significance of boosting the volume concentration of dust particles in fluid dynamics. The governing PDEs of the problem for both phase models are transmuted into nonlinear coupled non-dimensional ODEs by utilizing suitable similarity modifications. The bvp4c technique was utilized in MATLAB script to acquire a graphical representation of the experimental results. This study illustrates the analysis of repercussions of pertinent parameters on non-Newtonian fluid and the dusty phase of fluid. By improving the volume concentration of dust particles and rotating parameters, the axial velocity for both phases depreciates, whereas temperature and transverse velocity for both phases have the opposite behavior. The micro-rotation distribution rises with higher contributions of rotating and material parameters, whereas it decreases against larger inputs of volume concentration of dust particles. The growing strength of the dust volume fraction (ϕd) caused the coefficient of skin friction to decrease along the x direction, and the skin friction coefficient is raised along the y direction.

Numerical Analysis of Newtonian Heating Convective Flow by Way of Two Different Surfaces

In this paper, we offer a numerical study on heated non-Newtonian fluid with a Newtonian heating effect towards thermally stable stretching surfaces. A comparative analysis for two stretched surfaces, namely, plate and cylinder, is offered. The Casson fluid model is considered to be a non-Newtonian fluid model. By applying the suitable set of transformations, the non-linear coupled PDEs are transformed into non-linear ODEs. It is difficult to obtain the exact solution of such non-linear differential equations; therefore, we used the shooting method along with Runge–Kutta scheme. The influence of pertinent flow variables on velocity and temperature is presented through graphs. Notably from the results, heat generation parameters, Newtonian heating, and magnetic parameters enhanced the temperature profile, whereas Casson fluid and magnetic field parameters reduced the fluid velocity. It is also observed that increases in fluid temperature were more influenced at the cylindrical surface as compared with the flat plate. Moreover, we obtained remarkable results for the heat transfer rate by imposing Newtonian heating conditions at the surface; tables are used to present variations in the skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number at the thermally stable surfaces.

A Group Theoretic Analysis of Mutual Interactions of Heat and Mass Transfer in a Thermally Slip Semi-Infinite Domain

Group theoretic analysis is performed to get a new Lie group of transformations for non-linear differential systems constructed against mass and heat transfer in the thermally magnetized non-Newtonian fluid flow towards a heated stretched porous surface. The energy equation is used with additional effects, namely heat sink and heat source. The chemical reaction is also considered by the use of the concentration equation. The symmetry analysis helps us in numerical computations of surface quantities for (i) permeable and non-permeable surfaces, (ii) thermal slip and non-thermal slip flows, (iii) magnetized and non-magnetized flows, (iv) chemically reactive and non-reactive flows. For all these cases, the concerned emerging partial differential system is transformed into a reduced ordinary differential system and later solved numerically by using the shooting method along with the Runge-Kutta scheme. The observations are debated graphically, and numerical values are reported in tabular forms. It is noticed that the heat transfer rate increases for both the thermal slip and non-slip cases. The skin friction coefficient declines towards the Weissenberg number in the magnetized field.
