Abstract
Background: In recent decades, the incidence of depression has gradually increased in the general population globally. Depression is also common during gestation and could result in detrimental gestational complications for both the mother and the fetus. The survey presented aimed to evaluate whether pregnant women's perinatal depression could be associated with socio-demographic, anthropometry and lifestyle factors, and perinatal and postnatal outcomes. Methods: This is a cross-sectional survey conducted on 5314 pregnant women. Socio-demographic and lifestyle factors were recorded by relevant questionnaires via face-to-face interviews. Anthropometric parameters were measured by qualified personnel. Perinatal depressive symptomatology status was evaluated by Beck's Depression Inventory (BDI-II) questionnaire. Results: Depressive symptoms throughout gestation were found in 35.1% of the enrolled women. Perinatal depression was significantly associated with lower educational and economic level, pre-pregnancy regular smoking and reduced levels of Mediterranean diet adherence levels, a higher prevalence of gestational diabetes and preterm birth, as well as a higher incidence of delivering by caesarean section and abnormal childbirth weight. Perinatal depression was also significantly associated with a higher prevalence of maternal postpartum depression and lower prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding practices, as well as with a higher incidence of childhood asthma. Conclusions: Pregnant women's perinatal depression appears to be associated with various socio-demographic, anthropometry, and lifestyle characteristics and with a higher frequency of several adverse pregnancy complications. The present findings emphasize the importance of pregnant women's perinatal mental health, highlighting the need to develop and apply public strategies and policies for psychological counseling and support of future mothers to minimize probable risk factors that may trigger perinatal depression. Novel well-organized, follow-up surveys of enhanced validity are highly recommended to establish more definitive conclusions.

Abstract
PURPOSE Excessive gestational weight gain (EGWG) is associated with adverse maternal and offspring outcomes but efforts to identify women at high risk for EGWG have been limited. The objective of this study is to identify socioeconomic and clinical factors associated with EGWG. METHODS This retrospective cohort included pregnant patients who delivered live, term, singleton newborns between January 2018 and February 2020 at seven hospitals within a large health system in New York. Patients were stratified by pre-pregnancy body mass index and then classified based on whether they exceeded the Institute of Medicine guidelines for gestational weight gain (GWG) and whether they gained more than 50 pounds in pregnancy. RESULTS A total of 44,872 subjects were included for analysis: 48% had EGWG and 17% had GWG exceeding 50 pounds. Patients with EGWG were more likely to be Black race, English speakers, overweight or obese pre-pregnancy, and have a mood disorder diagnosis. Patients who were underweight, multiparous, and those with gestational diabetes were less likely to have EGWG. CONCLUSION Sociodemographic and clinical findings associated with GWG > 50 pounds were similar but only overweight and not obese patients were at increased risk. Patients at risk for EGWG may benefit from early nutrition counseling and education on lifestyle changes.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Nutrition education is the cornerstone to maintain optimal pregnancy outcomes including gestational weight gain (GWG). Nevertheless, default for appointments is common and often lead to suboptimal achievement of GWG, accompanied with unfavourable maternal and child health outcomes. While mobile health (mHealth) usage is increasing and helps minimising barriers to clinic appointments among pregnant mothers, its effectiveness on health outcomes has been inconclusive. Therefore, this study aimed to address the gap between current knowledge and clinical care, by exploring the effectiveness of mHealth on GWG as the primary outcome, hoping to serve as a fundamental work to achieve optimal health outcomes with the improvement of secondary outcomes such as physical activity, psychosocial well-being, dietary intake, quality of life and sleep quality among pregnant mothers. METHODS AND ANALYSIS A total of 294 eligible participants will be recruited and allocated into 3 groups comprising of mHealth intervention alone, mHealth intervention integrated with personal medical nutrition therapy and a control group. Pretested structured questionnaires are used to obtain the respondents' personal information, anthropometry data, prenatal knowledge, physical activity, psychosocial well-being, dietary intake, quality of life, sleep quality and GWG. There will be at least three time points of data collection, with all participants recruited during their first or second trimester will be followed up prospectively (after 3 months or/and after 6 months) until delivery. Generalised linear mixed models will be used to compare the mean changes of outcome measures over the entire study period between the three groups. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION Ethical approvals were obtained from the ethics committee of human subjects research of Universiti Putra Malaysia (JKEUPM-2022-072) and medical research & ethics committee, Ministry of Health Malaysia: NMRR ID-22-00622-EPU(IIR). The results will be disseminated through journals and conferences targeting stakeholders involved in nutrition research. TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER Clinicaltrial.gov ID: NCT05377151.

Abstract
Importance Anxiety disorders are associated with poor maternal and neonatal outcomes. Women in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) are thought to be disproportionally burdened by these disorders, yet their prevalence is unclear. Objective To conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to determine the prevalence of 6 anxiety and related disorders among perinatal women in LMICs. Data Sources Embase, MEDLINE, PsycINFO, Cochrane Library, CINAHL, and Web of Science databases were searched from inception until September 7, 2023. Study Selection Studies conducted in World Bank-defined LMICs and reporting prevalence of generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, or adjustment disorder during the perinatal period (conception to 12 months post partum) using a validated method were included. Data Extraction and Synthesis This study followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses reporting guideline. Study eligibility, extracted data, and risk of bias of included studies were assessed by 2 independent reviewers. Random-effects meta-analysis was used to estimate pooled point prevalence. Subgroup analyses were performed by specific anxiety disorder. Main Outcomes and Measures Main outcomes were prevalence estimates of each anxiety disorder, measured as percentage point estimates and corresponding 95% CIs. Results At total of 10 617 studies were identified, 203 of which met the inclusion criteria and reported the outcomes of 212 318 women from 33 LMICs. Generalized anxiety disorder was the most reported (184 studies [90.6%]) and most prevalent disorder at 22.2% (95% CI, 19.4%-25.0%; n = 173 553). Posttraumatic stress disorder was the second most prevalent (8.3%; 95% CI, 5.0%-12.2%; 33 studies; n = 22 452). Adjustment disorder was least prevalent (2.9%; 95% CI, 0.0%-14.1%; 2 studies; n = 475). The prevalence of generalized anxiety varied by country income status, with the highest prevalence among lower-middle-income countries (27.6%; 95% CI, 21.6%-33.9%; 59 studies; n = 25 109), followed by low-income (24.0%; 95% CI, 15.3%-33.8%; 11 studies; n = 4961) and upper-middle-income (19.1%; 95% CI, 16.0%-22.4%; 110 studies; n = 138 496) countries. Conclusions and Relevance These findings suggest that 1 in 5 women living in LMICs experience anxiety disorders during pregnancy and post partum. Targeted action is needed to reduce this high burden.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Healthy gestational weight gain (GWG) is associated with improved pregnancy and delivery outcomes. The COVID-19 pandemic changed eating behaviours and physical activity, and thus may have impacted GWG. This study examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on GWG. METHODS Participants (N = 371, 86% of the larger study) were part of a study focused on GWG among TRICARE beneficiaries (i.e., active-duty military personnel and other beneficiaries). Participants were randomized to two treatment groups (GWG intervention (n = 149 pre-COVID and n = 98 during COVID), and usual care condition (n = 76 pre-COVID and n = 48 during COVID). GWG was calculated as the difference between screening weight and at 36 weeks gestation. Participants who delivered prior to the COVID-19 pandemic (March 1, 2020, N = 225) were compared to participants whose pregnancies occurred during the pandemic (N = 146). RESULTS We found no significant difference in GWG between those who delivered prior to the pandemic (11.2 ± 4.3 kg) and those whose pregnancies occurred during COVID-19 (10.6 ± 5.4 kg), with no effect of intervention arm. While excessive GWG was higher pre-COVID (62.8%) than during the pandemic (53.7%), this difference was not significant overall or by intervention arm. In addition, we found lower attrition during the pandemic (8.9%) than in the pre-COVID period (18.7%). DISCUSSION In contrast to prior research that indicated challenges with engaging in health behaviors during the COVID-19 pandemic, we found that women did not have increased GWG or higher odds of excessive GWG. This research contributes to our understanding of how the pandemic impacted pregnancy weight gain and engagement in research.

Abstract
Mental health problems and obesity are two common complications during pregnancy and postpartum. The preconception period is considered an appropriate period for prevention. Therefore, insights into interpregnancy mental health and the impact on weight and body composition are of interest to developing effective weight management strategies. The primary aim of this study is to assess the difference in women's mental health during the interpregnancy period and the association with pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) and body composition. The secondary aim is to study whether this association is affected by socio-demographic factors, interpregnancy interval and sleep. The study is a secondary analysis of the INTER-ACT e-health-supported lifestyle trial. Women were eligible if they had a subsequent pregnancy and mental health measurements at 6 weeks after childbirth and at the start of the next pregnancy (n = 276). We used univariate analyses to assess differences in mental health and performed regression analysis to assess their association with pre-pregnancy BMI and body composition at the start of the next pregnancy. Our results show a statistically significant increase in anxiety and depressive symptoms between 6 weeks after childbirth and the start of the next pregnancy (sSTAI-6 ≥ 40: +13%, p =≤ 0.001; GMDS ≥ 13: +9%, p = 0.01). Of the women who were not anxious at 6 weeks after childbirth (sSTAI < 40), more than one-third (39%) developed anxiety at the start of the next pregnancy (p =≤ 0.001). Regression analysis showed that sense of coherence (SOC-13) at the start of the next pregnancy was independently associated with women's pre-pregnancy BMI and fat percentage. We believe that the development of preconception lifestyle interventions that focus on both weight reduction and support in understanding, managing and giving meaning to stressful events (sense of coherence) may be of added value in optimizing women's preconception health.

Abstract
The scope of this article is to estimate the effects of symptoms of mental disorders during pregnancy (depressive symptoms, anxiety and stress) on gestational weight gain (kg). It is a longitudinal study, carried out with data from the BRISA Birth Cohort, which was launched in 2010 in São Luís, Maranhão. Gestational weight gain was classified according to the Institute of Medicine. The independent variable was a construct (latent variable) referred to as symptoms of mental disorders, made up of the depressive symptoms, anxiety and stressful symptoms variables (all on an ongoing basis). Structural equation modeling was used to investigate the association between mental health and weight gain. Regarding the association between symptoms of mental disorders and weight gain during pregnancy, no total effect was found (PC=0.043; p=0.377). Regarding indirect effects, no effect was found either through risk behaviors (PC=0.03; p=0.368) or through physical activity (PC=0.00; p=0.974). Finally, the data did not show a direct effect of symptoms of mental disorders during pregnancy such as gestational weight gain (PC=0.050; p=0.404). Gestational weight gain had no direct, indirect or total effect on symptoms of mental disorders in pregnant women.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The relationship between psychosocial factors/mental health/depressive symptoms and inadequate gestational weight (GW) change remains poorly understood. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the association between depressive symptoms and inadequate GW change according to the criteria established by the Institute of Medicine in 2009. METHODS This cross-sectional study was part of a prospective cohort, and conducted in Botucatu, São Paulo, Brazil. Pregnant women who received prenatal care at basic health care units in the city participated in the study (n = 297). The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale was used to assess depressive symptoms during pregnancy, and the cutoff point used for the positive screening of depressive symptoms was ≥13. The association between depressive symptoms and two outcomes (insufficient and excessive weight change during second and third trimesters) was investigated using logistic regression models with adjustment for potential confounders. Crude and adjusted effect measures (odds ratios) and their relevant 95% confidence intervals were estimated. RESULTS There was an association between a positive score for depression during pregnancy and insufficient GW gain. No association was observed between depressive symptoms and excessive GW gain. CONCLUSIONS The presence of depressive symptoms significantly increased the chance of insufficient GW change. This finding enhances the need for screening for depression in prenatal care.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the evolution of maternal mental health during the first year after childbirth in women with previous excessive gestational weight gain, and the relationship with postpartum weight retention and body composition. METHODS Anthropometric and mental health data of 505 women of the INTER-ACT RCT control group were collected and assessed using descriptive statistics and mixed model analyses. RESULTS At 6 weeks postpartum 28% of women reported depressive symptoms, 46% anxiety, 47% low sense of coherence and 48% low quality of life. From 6 weeks to 12 months postpartum there was a monthly increase (+0.38, p = .003) in anxiety and a monthly decrease (-0.39, p = .008) in quality of life. High levels of depressive symptoms at 6 weeks postpartum predicted higher body fat (+0.9%, p = .01) and higher waist circumference (+1.3 cm, p = .02) in the first year postpartum. High sense of coherence at 6 weeks postpartum predicted lower body fat (-0.8%, p = .01) the first year postpartum. CONCLUSIONS In women with a history of excessive gestational weight gain, the first year after childbirth is characterized by a high prevalence of mental health problems in which levels of anxiety and quality of life deteriorate over time. Moreover, high levels of depressive symptoms and low sense of coherence in the first weeks postpartum predict unfavourable body composition outcomes in the year after childbirth.

Abstract
Teenage depression, also known as TD, is a common mental illness that is characterized by symptoms such as hopelessness, helplessness, pessimism, depression, and decreased energy. It has always been a hot topic to discuss how rewards and punishments work in education. In order to prevent and treat adolescent depression, this study examines the mechanisms of educational reinforcement and punishment as well as psychological interventions. In this study, the activated brain regions are analyzed using data mining (DM) technology to determine whether they are significantly more or less active than the rest of the brain of students who are not experiencing negative emotions. When the word vector has 90 dimensions, the results demonstrate that the average F1 value of the weighted word vector method is 81.3 percent. It has been established that the approach taken in this work offers a reliable way to diagnose TD.
