Poly (red DSBR)/Al-ZnO modified carbon paste electrode sensor for dopamine: a voltammetric study

Real samples sensitive dopamine sensor based on poly 1,3-benzothiazol-2-yl((4-carboxlicphenyl)hydrazono)acetonitrile on a glassy carbon electrode

Herein, a novel electrochemical sensor that was used for the first time for sensitive and selective detection of dopamine (DA) was fabricated. The new sensor is based on the decoration of the glassy carbon electrode surface (GC) with a polymer film of 1,3-Benzothiazol-2-yl((4-carboxlicphenyl)hydrazono)) acetonitrile (poly(BTCA). The prepared (poly(BTCA) was examined by using different techniques such as 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FTIR, and UV-visible spectroscopy. The electrochemical investigations of DA were assessed using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The results obtained showed that the modifier increased the electrocatalytic efficiency with a noticeable increase in the oxidation peak current of DA in 0.1 M phosphate buffer solution (PBS) at an optimum pH of 7.0 and scan rate of 200 mV/s when compared to unmodified GC. The new sensor displays a good performance for detecting DA with a limit of detection (LOD 3σ), and limit of quantification (LOQ 10σ) are 0.28 nM and 94 nM respectively. The peak current of DA is linearly proportional to the concentration in the range from 0.1 to 10.0 µM. Additionally, the fabricated electrode showed sufficient reproducibility, stability, and selectivity for DA detection in the presence of different interferents. The proposed poly(BTCA)/GCE sensor was effectively applied to detect DA in the biological samples.

Common Transition Metal Oxide Nanomaterials in Electrochemical Sensors for the Diagnosis of Monoamine Neurotransmitter‐Related Disorders

Monoamine neurotransmitters are essential for learning, mental alertness, emotions, and blood flow, among other functions. Fatal neurological disorders that signal the imbalance of these biomolecules in the human system include Parkinson's disease, myocardial infarction, Alzheimer's disease, hypoglycemia, Schizophrenia, and a host of other ailments. The diagnosis of these monoamine neurotransmitter‐related conditions revolves around the development of analytical tools with high sensitivity for the four major monoamine neurotransmitters namely dopamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, and serotonin. The application of electrochemical sensors made from notable metal oxide nanoparticles or composites containing the metal oxide nanoparticles for the detection of these monoamine neurotransmitters was discussed herein. More importantly, the feasibility of the application of the ZnO, CuO, and TiO2 nanoparticle‐based electrochemical sensors for a comprehensive diagnosis of monoamine neurotransmitter‐related conditions was critically investigated in this review.

Electrochemical determination of dinitolmide in poultry product samples using a highly sensitive Mn2O3/MCNTs-NPs carbon paste electrode aided by greenness assessment tools

In this paper, chemically modified carbon paste Mn₂O₃/MCNTs-NPs electrode for estimation of dinitolmide (DOM) utilizing square wave voltammetry method (SWV) was developed. The study investigated the electrochemical behavior of DOM, and the morphology of the modified electrode was evaluated by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM). The voltammetric behavior of DOM at modified electrode was recorded at a scan rate of 100 mVs^-1 against Ag/AgCl reference electrode in phosphate buffer pH 4.0 within linearity range 2-12 µM, LOQ, and LOD of 1.8 and 0.594 µM, respectively, with average % recovery of (100.89 ± 0.795). GAPI and Analytical Eco-Scale tools were applied for greenness assessment. Specificity and interference study was valid for the proposed method; allowing DOM to be determined in its acidic degradation and its major interference drug. The proposed method was successfully employed to quantify DOM in bulk powder, egg, and frozen cuts-up chicken muscle samples.

Poly (Orange CD) sensor for paracetamol in presence of folic acid and dopamine

In the present work, Orange CD was chosen as an intriguing modifier for the electropolymerization on the surface of CPE by the CV technique. A novel, sensitive, and cost-effective poly (Orange CD) MCPE (PoOCD/MCPE) sensor was utilized for the selective detection of paracetamol (PA) in 0.2 M phosphate buffer solution (PBS) of pH 7.4. The oxidation peak current of PA was vastly enhanced at the sensor. The scan rate study is suggested that electro-oxidation of PA was adsorption-controlled. The pH study testifies the redox pathways transport with the same quantity of electrons and protons. The detection limit of PA is found to be 2.64 µM. DPV results show that substantial peak separation between PA, folic acid (FA), and dopamine (DA) could be facilitating their individual and simultaneous determination on the sensor. The decorated sensor demonstrates high sensitivity, stability, reproducibility, repeatability and has been successfully exploited for the detection of PA in a tablet with promising results.
