Abstract
Designing and innovating organic structure-directing agents is the key to synthesizing novel molecular sieve structures. Herein, we design a novel carbazolyl-modified template and further synthesize a two-dimensional layered aluminophosphate with [C17H21N2]3[Al3(PO4)4]·5H2O (denoted as ZHKU-2). ZHKU-2 is composed of AA-stacked [Al3P4O16]3- layers constructed from alternating AlO4 and PO3(=O) tetrahedrons to form a 4.6.8 network featured by capped six-ring secondary building units. Carbazolyl-templated ZHKU-2 exhibits strong purple fluorescence with a high quantum yield of 25.98%. This work expands aluminophosphate materials of the [Al3P4O16]3- family and provides a view for synthesizing new molecular sieves by exploring the organic luminescence structure-directing agents.

Abstract
This work presents a new 2D aluminophosphate (ZHKU-1) with inorganic sheets containing a 4,6,12-net in AAAA-stacked sequence. Moreover, small Ag clusters supported on ZHKU-1 exhibit excellent catalytic performance in 4-nitrophenol reduction.

Abstract
In the synthesis of zeolites and related crystalline materials with open-frameworks, a single structure is obtained in the presence of many different templates, known as the "one-structure/multiple-templates" phenomenon. However, the reasons behind this phenomenon have yet to be elucidated. By analyzing the possible starting point of crystallization in several "one-structure/multiple-templates" systems and applying the molecular dynamics simulation to such systems, we found that the template-framework binding free energy level or charge transfer (exchange) degree was the key to the structure-directing effect of a template. This discovery explains why the structure-directing effect of a template can be affected by many variables, such as the nature of the source materials, molar composition of the initial reaction mixture (recipe), mineralizers, type of solvent, and heating temperature. In the synthesis of zeolites and related crystalline materials with open-frameworks, the template or organic additive played a topological structure-directing role instead of a structure-directing role.

Abstract
A new two-dimensional-layered fluoroaluminophosphate (C4H11NOH)3.5[Al4(PO4)5F] x 0.5H3O (denoted as AlPO-CJ20) with an Al/P ratio of 4:5 has been synthesized solvothermally by using 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol as the structure-directing agent. Its structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and further characterized by solid-state NMR techniques, including 27Al, 19F --> 27Al cross-polarization, and 31P magic angle spinning NMR. The alternation of Al-centered tetrahedra (AlO4 and AlO3F) and PO3(=O) tetrahedra gives rise to a new type of 4.6.16-net sheet. The inorganic sheets are stacked in an ABAB sequence along the [010] direction and further held together through strong H bonds between protonated template molecules and P=O groups in the inorganic layers. Except for Mu-4, AlPO-CJ20 is the second layered aluminophosphate with an Al/P ratio of 4:5, and it contains the largest pore opening of 16-rings in the known layered aluminophosphates. Furthermore, the coordination of Al and P of fluoroaluminophosphates is summarized. Abstract
This Account describes a family of aluminophosphates ranging from neutral open-frameworks to anionic frameworks with fascinating structural architectures. In contrast to aluminosilicate zeolites, these aluminophosphates exhibit wealthy structural features, including extra-large micropores, mixed bonding, different structural dimensionalities, rich compositional diversities, and various stacking sequences of their 2-D sheets. The low-dimensional networks, acting as building units, can be assembled to 3-D open-frameworks via transition metal cations through a building-up process. New stoichiometries and hypothetical structural topologies can be predicted and enumerated. Computational and combinatorial approaches will greatly help to access the range of the diverse structures.
