Abstract
A metal-free visible-light-induced trifluoromethylation of Bunte salts of α-bromoketones/alkyl bromide/benzyl bromides/functionalized allyl (Baylis-Hillman) bromides has been accomplished using Langlois' reagent in the presence of inexpensive eosin Y as a photocatalyst to form the privileged trifluoromethylthiolated synthons. The method is straightforward, operationally simple, and endowed with broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance.

Abstract
We developed an electrochemical trifluoromethylation of thiophenols without the use of metal catalysts and oxidants. This reaction features mild reaction conditions, readily available substrate, as well as moderate to good yields. In addition, this protocol can be easily scaled up with moderate efficiency.

Abstract
Two convenient and practical methods for the synthesis of axially chiral biaryls bearing the trifluoromethylthio group are reported. A Cu-catalyzed enantioselective ring-opening reaction of cyclic diaryliodoniums with CsSCF3 enables the direct synthesis of trifluoromethylthiolated biaryl atropisomers in high yields and enantioselectivity. For unsymmetric cyclic diaryliodoniums bearing an adjacent group to the C-I bond, a two-step procedure is required to achieve good regio- and enantioselectivity.

Abstract
We report herein a general and practical copper-catalyzed fluorosulfonylation reaction of a wide range of abundant arenediazonium salts to smoothly prepare various arenesulfonyl fluorides using the 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane-bis(sulfur dioxide) adduct as a convenient sulfonyl source in combination with KHF2 as an ideal fluorine source and without the need for additional oxidants. Interestingly, the electronic character of the arene ring in the starting arenediazonium salts has a significant impact on the reaction mechanistic pathway.

Abstract
Here we report a silver-mediated trifluoromethoxylation of (hetero)aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates by converting an aromatic amino group into an OCF3 group. This method, which can be considered to be a trifluoromethoxylation variation of the classic Sandmeyer-type reaction, uses readily available aryl and heteroaromatic amines as starting materials and AgOCF3 as trifluoromethoxylating reagents. The broad substrate scope and simple, mild reaction condition made this transformation a valuable method in constructing aryl-OCF3 bonds.

Abstract
Difluoromethanesulfonyl hypervalent iodonium ylides 2 were developed as electrophilic difluoromethylthiolation reagents for a wide range of nucleophiles. Enamines, indoles, β-keto esters, silyl enol ethers and pyrroles were effectively reacted with 2 affording desired difluoromethylthio (SCF2H)-substituted compounds in good to high yields under copper catalysis. The reaction of allyl alcohols with 2 under the same conditions provided difluoromethylsulfinyl (S(O)CF2H) products in good yields. The difluoromethylthiolation of enamines is particularly effective with wide generality, thus the enamine method was nicely extended to the synthesis of a series of difluoromethythiolated cyclic and acyclic β-keto esters, 1,3-diketones, pyrazole and pyrimidine derivatives by a consecutive, two-step one-pot reaction using 2.

Abstract
2‐Diazo‐1‐phenyl‐2‐((trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl)ethan‐1‐one (diazo‐triflone) (2) is not only a building block but also a reagent. In this study, diazo‐triflone, which was originally used for the synthesis of β‐lactam triflones as a trifluoromethanesulfonyl (SO2CF3) building block under catalyst‐free thermal conditions, is redisclosed as an effective electrophilic trifluoromethylthiolation reagent under copper catalysis. A broad set of enamines, indoles, β‐keto esters, pyrroles, and anilines were nicely transformed into corresponding trifluoromethylthio (SCF3) compounds in good to high yields by diazo‐triflone under copper catalysis via an electrophilic‐type reaction. A coupling‐type trifluoromethylthiolation reaction of aryl iodides was also realized by diazo‐triflone in acceptable yields.

Abstract
While nickel catalysts have previously been shown to activate even the least reactive Csp2-O bonds, i.e. aryl ethers, in the context of C-C bond formation, little is known about the reactivity limits and molecular requirements for the introduction of valuable functional groups under homogeneous nickel catalysis. We identified that due to the high reactivity of Ni-catalysts, they are also prone to react with existing or installed functional groups, which ultimately causes catalyst deactivation. The scope of the Ni-catalyzed coupling protocol will therefore be dictated by the reactivity of the functional groups towards the catalyst. Herein, we showed that the application of computational tools allowed the identification of matching functional groups in terms of suitable leaving groups and tolerated functional groups. This allowed for the development of the first efficient protocol to trifluoromethylthiolate Csp2-O bonds, giving the mild and operationally simple C-SCF3 coupling of a range of aryl, vinyl triflates and nonaflates. The novel methodology was also applied to biologically active and pharmaceutical relevant targets, showcasing its robustness and wide applicability.
