Abstract
In recent years, catalysis with base metal manganese has received a significant amount of interest. Catalysis with manganese complexes having N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) is relatively underdeveloped in comparison to the extensively investigated manganese catalysts possessing pincer ligands (particularly phosphine-based ligands). Herein, we describe the synthesis of two imidazolium salts decorated with picolyl arms (L1 and L2) as NHC precursors. Facile coordination of L1 and L2 with MnBr(CO)5 in the presence of a base resulted in the formation manganese(I)-NHC complexes (1 and 2) as an air-stable solid in good isolated yield. Single-crystal X-ray analysis revealed the structure of the cationic complexes [Mn(CO)3(NHC)][PF6] with tridentate N,C,N binding of the NHC ligand in a facile fashion. Along with a few known manganese(I) complexes, these Mn(I)-NHC complexes 1 and 2 were tested for the hydrosilylation of terminal alkynes. Complex 1 was proved to be an effective catalyst for the hydrosilylation of terminal alkynes with good selectivity toward the less thermodynamically stable β-(Z)-vinylsilanes. This method provided good regioselectivity (anti-Markovnikov addition) and stereoselectivity (β-(Z)-product). Experimental evidence suggested that the present hydrosilylation pathway involved an organometallic mechanism with manganese(I)-silyl species as a possible reactive intermediate.

Abstract
Intramolecular double hydroalkoxylation of internal alkynes could be achieved using a Grubbs-type ruthenium carbene complex or its modified species to deliver a series of bridged- and spiroacetal derivatives in moderate to good yields. This study represents a new example of nonmetathetic reactions catalyzed by Grubbs-type ruthenium carbene complexes.

Abstract
A highly versatile cobalt-catalyzed hydrosilylations of alkynes is reported. Near-perfect regiocontrol/stereocontrol was induced by the choice of the ligand: bidentate phosphines afforded (E)-β-vinylsilanes; α-vinylsilanes formed with bipyridine ligands.
Hydrofunctionalizations of unsaturated hydrocarbons are key strategies for the synthesis of functionalized building blocks. Here, we report highly versatile cobalt-catalyzed hydrosilylations of alkynes that operate with minute amounts of the inexpensive, bench-stable pre-catalyst Co(OAc)2·4H2O under mild conditions (0.1–1 mol%, THF, r.t., 1 h). Near-perfect regiocontrol/stereocontrol was induced by the choice of the ligand: bidentate phosphines afforded (E)-β-vinylsilanes; α-vinylsilanes formed with bipyridine ligands.

Abstract
A series of novel monothiolate-bridged dirhodium complexes, [Cp*Rh(μ-SR)(μ-Cl)2RhCp*][BF4] {Cp* = η5-C5Me5, R = tertiary butyl ( tBu), 1a; R = ferrocenyl (Fc), 1b; R = adamantyl (Ad), 1c} were designed and successfully synthesized, which can smoothly facilitate highly regioselective and stereoselective hydrosilylation of terminal alkynes to afford β( Z) vinylsilanes with good functional group compatibility. Furthermore, the hydride bridged dirhodium complex [Cp*Rh(μ-S tBu)(μ-Cl)(μ-H)RhCp*][BF4] (5) as a potential intermediate was obtained by the reaction of 1a with excess HSiEt3.

Abstract
Development of regio- and stereoselective dehydrogenative silylation and hydrosilylation of vinylarenes with alkoxysilanes, catalyzed by ruthenium alkylidenes, is described. Varying L- and X-type ligands on ruthenium alkylidenes permits selective access to either (E)-vinylsilanes or β-alkylsilanes with high regio- and stereocontrol. cis,cis-1,5-Cyclooctadiene was identified as the most effective sacrificial hydrogen acceptor for the dehydrogenative silylation of vinylarenes, which allows use of a nearly equimolar ratio of alkenes and silanes.

Abstract
Reaction of 4-acyl-oxy-but-1-enyl-silanes with iodosylbenzene in the presence of BF(3) x OEt(2) gave 4-acyloxy-2-oxobutyl-silane and 3-acyloxy-tetrahydrofuran-2-yl-silane via a 1,3-di-oxan-2-yl cation intermediate, which is generated by participation of the acyloxy group during the electrophilic addition of iodine(III) to the substrate.

Abstract
[chemical reaction: see text]. PtO2- and H2PtCl6-catalyzed hydrosilylation of internal aryl alkynes having a para or an ortho substituent with triethylsilane are discussed and compared. The regioselectivity of the H-Si bond addition was found to be controlled by the ortho substituent rather than the nature of the platinum catalyst. Arylalkynes with an ortho substituent, regardless of its electronic nature, directed the silyl substituent mainly to the alpha-position. PtO2 proved to be a versatile and powerful catalyst compared to H2PtCl6 since it prevents the alkyne reduction.
