Abstract
We have synthesized a structure in which pyrazine is the core structure and fluorene derivatives are attached to both sides. Photo physical investigations such as aprotic solvents (Hexane to DMF) were carried out. A redshift was revealed from non-polar aprotic solvents to polar aprotic solvents. The luminescence intensity was gradually decreased, which is incredibly more complex towards changes in the solvent polarization than their UV/Vis absorption spectra. The compound showed a redshift from 445 nm to 473 nm when slowly increasing the water fraction (fw) from 0 to 30 %. Also, rising water fraction (fw > 40-90 %) effectively attenuated the instantaneous emission intensity was observed. At the same time, the intensity of the emission peak was reduced due to the TICT effect on fluorene and pyrazine rings due to enhanced solvent polarity. In addition, optically reversible acidofluorochromic properties were performed experimentally in both solvent and solid phases. For the acidic substances TFA and HF, which contain fluorine, new redshift peaks from 425 nm and 503 nm were observed upon reaction with the PDF solution, and the emission intensity was extinguished by more than 90 % and 60 %, respectively. Upon addition of TFA up to 1500 equal, the PDF mixture suffered from 50 % lower energy absorption intensity. The 1H NMR spectrum confirmed the proposed mechanism (TFA/TEA, ON-OFF-ON). Therefore, the present work presents a novel approach to fabricating ON-OFF-ON active-pull pyrazine scaffolds that can be used in DSEgens, referred to as "ON-OFF-ON" fluorescent sensors, for multifunctional applications.

Abstract
Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) have outperformed conventional display technologies in smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, and televisions while gradually growing to cover a sizable fraction of the solid-state lighting industry. Blue emission is a crucial chromatic component for realizing high-quality red, green, blue, and yellow (RGBY) and RGB white display technologies and solid-state lighting sources. For consumer products with desirable lifetimes and efficiency, deep blue emissions with much higher power efficiency and operation time are necessary prerequisites. This article reviews over 700 papers covering various factors, namely, the crucial role of blue emission for full-color displays and solid-state lighting, the performance status of blue OLEDs, and the systematic development of fluorescent, phosphorescent, and thermally activated delayed fluorescence blue emitters. In addition, various challenges concerning deep blue efficiency, lifetime, and approaches to realizing deeper blue emission and higher efficacy for blue OLED devices are also described.

Abstract
Nanographene materials are promising building blocks for the growing field of low-dimensional materials for optics, electronics and biophotonics applications. In particular, bottom-up synthesized 0D graphene quantum dots show great potential as single quantum emitters. To fully exploit their exciting properties, the graphene quantum dots must be of high purity; the key parameter for efficient purification being the solubility of the starting materials. Here, we report the synthesis of a family of highly soluble and easily processable rod-shaped graphene quantum dots with fluorescence quantum yields up to 94%. This is uncommon for a red emission. The high solubility is directly related to the design of the structure, allowing for an accurate description of the photophysical properties of the graphene quantum dots both in solution and at the single molecule level. These photophysical properties were fully predicted by quantum-chemical calculations.

Abstract
We designed the TPA-based linear pyrazine derivatives of PP-1 and PP-2, synthesized using the conventional Suzuki cross-linking reaction. It was followed by photophysical studies such as aprotic solvent (Haxene to DMF). A red-shift was observed from the non-polar aprotic solvent to the polar aprotic solvent, and the emission intensity was gradually decreased. In addition, the Aggregation-induced emission (AIE) effect has been studied against the DMF/water addition of linear pyrazine compounds. It showed a classic aggregation-caused quenching effect (ACQ) and red-shifted at an increase of (fw) 0 to 40%. After this case, when the water fraction in these studies was increased by (fw) 50 to 90%, a blue shift and a mild AIE effect has occurred. And also, was investigated acidochromic effect of compounds PP-1 and PP-2 using TFA acid. Absorption and emission intensity were gradually reduced as the acid concentration increased for these studies, while the new peaks appeared red-shifted in the absorption spectrum. They were examined before and after exposure to UV light irradiation in the synthesized dye compounds.

Abstract
A tetra-functionalized pyrene precursor 4b is prepared using the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling of 1,3,6,8-tetrabromopyrene with N-Boc-2-pyrroleboronic acid. 4b displayed a blue emission with a high quantum yield (ϕF = 0.89). 4b is subjected to [3 + 2] Lewis acid-catalyzed condensation with 2,2'-bithiophene-dialcohol 5, affording a planar bis-N2S2 internally linked with pyrene. The single-crystal X-ray structure of bis-N2S2 revealed a planar conformation with all of the pyrrolic nitrogens and thiophenic sulfurs pointing toward the macrocyclic core. Further, the reduction of bis-N2S2 was attempted in the presence of Zn/NH4Cl at room temperature in CHCl3. A sharp color change from pink to brown was observed presumably due to the formation of its reduced congener bis-N2S2-2H. However, the reduced species was found to revert back to its oxidized form over a period of 25 min in CHCl3. Density functional theory (DFT) studies reveal that the two monocyclic halves of bis-N2S2-2H exhibit differences in aromaticity depending on amino and imino pyrroles present inside each individual core. Such a conversion was also monitored by ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) absorption spectral studies, and the exact composition of bis-N2S2-2H was confirmed by High-resolution/mass spectrometry (HR/MS) analysis. Experimental and theoretical studies reveal a weak aromatic character of bis-N2S2 due to the absence of global conjugation.

Abstract
Efficient white lighting sources based on phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes (PhOLEDs) have been predicted as the next generation of highly efficient general illumination systems. This study proposed a novel host material, CzppT, featuring the characteristics of bipolarity while possessing electron-withdrawing pyridine and electron-donating carbazole groups in the hexaphenylbenzene core, suitable for use in both blue and white PhOLEDs. The CzppT possesses a high triplet energy level and thermally activated delayed fluorescence stable which is confirmed by the high value of T d (480 °C). The effect of the emission layer deposition method on the characteristics of the device was studied in the dicarbazole derivative fabricated in a hole and electron-only device to ensure the bipolarity of CzppT. A blue PhOLED device exhibited a maximum external quantum efficiency of 11.0% with CIE coordinates (x, y) of (0.18, 0.41). Moreover, a white PhOLED device doped with a dye has a maximum external quantum efficiency of 11.3%, and CIE coordinates (x, y) of (0.32, 0.36). These results demonstrate that the hexaphenylbenzene derivative was conveniently synthesized with bipolarity and hole- and electron-transporting ability and high triplet energy level. Moreover, as a host material, it is expected to be applied to bipolar, high EL efficiency OLEDs in the future.

Abstract
Phenyl, naphthyl, polyarylphenyl, coronene, and other aromatic and polyaromatic moieties primarily influence the final materials' properties. One of the synthetic tools used to implement (hetero)aromatic moieties into final structures is Diels-Alder cycloaddition (DAC), typically combined with Scholl dehydrocondensation. Substituted 2-pyranones, 1,1-dioxothiophenes, and, especially, 1,3-cyclopentadienones are valuable substrates for [4 + 2] cycloaddition, leading to multisubstituted derivatives of benzene, naphthalene, and other aromatics. Cycloadditions of dienes can be carried out with extrusion of carbon dioxide, carbon oxide, or sulphur dioxide. When pyranones, dioxothiophenes, or cyclopentadienones and DA cycloaddition are aided with acetylenes including masked ones, conjugated or isolated diynes, or polyynes and arynes, aromatic systems are obtained. This review covers the development and the current state of knowledge regarding thermal DA cycloaddition of dienes mentioned above and dienophiles leading to (hetero)aromatics via CO, CO2, or SO2 extrusion. Particular attention was paid to the role that introduced aromatic moieties play in designing molecular structures with expected properties. Undoubtedly, the DAC variants described in this review, combined with other modern synthetic tools, constitute a convenient and efficient way of obtaining functionalized nanomaterials, continually showing the potential to impact materials sciences and new technologies in the nearest future.

Abstract
A set of anthracene containing polyfluorenes (PFs) having 9,10-diphenylanthracene with alkyl substituents and aniline containing fluorenes were prepared. Commonly, light-emitting polymers were synthesized using expensive palladium-like catalysts. In the present work, palladium was replaced by copper as a cost-effective PF synthesis catalyst, which is also suitable for large-scale polymer synthesis. Synthesized PFs emit light in the blue region with a bandgap of 2.87–2.90 eV. Thermally stable PFs had a decomposition temperature of more than 305°C and a glass transition temperature of 125–138°C. PFs were soluble in organic solvents and had a molecular weight of around 21,700–25,500. The electrochemical study of these PFs showed low level of highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy of −5.16 to −5.26 eV, which was significantly higher than that of PF (5.7 eV). These findings suggested that the resulting PFs could be used as a component of the light-emitting diode.

Abstract
A collection of para-substituted propeller-shaped triphenylamine (TPA) derivatives have been computationally investigated for charge-transport characteristics exhibited by the derivatives by using the Marcus-Hush formalism. The various substituents chosen herein, with features that range from electron withdrawing to electron donating in nature, play a key role in defining the reorganisation energy and electronic coupling properties of the TPA derivatives. The TPA moiety is expected to possess weak electronic coupling on the basis of poor orbital overlap upon aggregation, owing to the restriction imposed by the propeller shape of the TPA core. However, the substituent groups attached to the TPA core can significantly dictate the crystal-packing motif of the TPA derivatives, wherein the variety of noncovalent intermolecular interactions subsequently generated drive the packing arrangement and influence electronic coupling between the neighbouring orbitals. Intermolecular interactions in the crystalline architecture of TPA derivatives were probed by using Hirshfeld and quantum theory of atoms-in-molecules techniques. Furthermore, symmetry-adapted perturbation theory analysis of the TPA analogues has revealed that a periodic arrangement of energetically stable dimers with significant electronic coupling is essential to contribute high charge-carrier mobility to the overall crystal.

Abstract
In the present investigation, an intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) and aggregation induced emission enhancement (AIEE) active donor-acceptor-donor (D-A-D) system 5 having fumaronitrile as the acceptor and hexaphenylbenzene (HPB) as the donor moieties joined through rotatable phenyl rings has been designed and synthesized that is highly emissive in the solid state and exhibits stimuli-responsive reversible piezochromic behavior upon grinding and heating. Because of its AIEE characteristics, HPB derivative 5 undergoes aggregation to form fluorescent aggregates in mixed aqueous media that exhibit ratiometric fluorescence response toward aliphatic amines (primary/secondary/tertiary) and turn-off response toward aromatic amines and hence differentiates between them. Further, the solution-coated portable paper strips of derivative 5 showed pronounced and sensitive response toward aromatic and aliphatic amines with a detection limit in the range of picogram and nanogram level, respectively.

Abstract
White organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) are at the center stage of OLED research today because of their advantages in replacing the high energy-consuming lighting technologies in vogue for a long time. New materials that emit white light in simple devices are much sought after. We have developed two novel electroluminescent materials, referred to as BABZF and BATOMe, based on a twisted bianthryl core, which are brilliantly fluorescent, thermally highly stable with high T d and T g, and exhibit reversible redox property. Although inherently blue emissive, BABZF leads to white-light emission (CIE ≈ 0.28, 0.33) with a moderate power efficiency of 2.24 lm/W and a very high luminance of 15 600 cd/m2 in the fabricated multilayer nondoped OLED device. This device exhibited excellent color stability over a range of applied potential. Remarkably, similar white-light emission was captured even from a double-layer device, attesting to the innate hole-transporting ability of BABZF despite it being non-nitrogenous, that is, lacking any traditional hole-transporting di-/triarylamino group(s). Similar studies with BATOMe led to inferior device performance results, thereby underscoring the importance of dibenzofuryl groups in BABZF. Experimental as well as theoretical studies suggest the possibility of emission from multiple species involving BABZF and its exciplex and electroplex in the devices. The serendipitously observed white-light emission from a double-layer device fabricated with an unconventional hole-transporting material (HTM) opens up new avenues to create new non-nitrogenous HTMs that may lead to more efficient white-light emission in simple double-layer devices.

Abstract
A few pyrene-based fluorescent compounds were synthesized using Pd/Cu-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction. Photophysical properties of the π-conjugated pyrene derivatives were studied and the results indicate materials with high quantum efficiency and high extinction coefficient. No π stacking was observed in the crystal lattice. The molecules described here may be useful in developing sensors or imaging agents.

Abstract
We report the synthesis, photophysical, and electrochemical studies of a series of cyclometalated ruthenium sensitizers carrying triphenylamino linkers for p-type NiO dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The general structure of these ruthenium sensitizers is Ru[N∧N]2[N∧C], where [N∧N] is a diimine ligand and [N∧C] is a cyclometalated ligand. The triphenylamino group is attached to the -para position of the ruthenium-carbon bond of the [N∧)] ligand as a linker to bridge the ruthenium chromophore and the NiO surface and to enhance the electronic coupling for hole injection. As a result, cells made with these sensitizers generate higher short-circuit currents (Jsc) than cells sensitized with our prior sensitizers with phenylene linkers. Morever the N∧N ligands are systematically tuned from 2,2'-bipyridine (O3), to 1,10-phenanthroline (O13), and to bathophenanthroline (O17). Following the series, the conjugation of the N∧N ligand is increased, which results in the enhancement of extinction coefficient and the red shift of light absorption. However the solar cell sensitized with O3 still gives the largest Jsc of 3.04 mA/cm2. The large Jsc highlights the promising potential of using these cyclometalated ruthenium sensitizers for NiO DSSCs. In addition, the carrier dynamics of these solar cells has been systematically studied by intensity-modulated photovoltage spectroscopy (IMVS) and intensity-modulated photocurrent spectroscopy (IMPS). The results suggest that the O3 solar cell giving the largest Jsc is likely caused by the slow geminate charge recombination and efficient dye regeneration.
