Abstract
Silica-decorated ferrite nanoparticles, a new kind, coated with ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN), have been prepared successfully by simple coprecipitation techniques. Powder X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (PXRD), Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), field emission-scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), wavelength-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (WDX), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), inductive coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) techniques were used to characterize these nanoparticles. The catalysts are further studied for catalytic activity in solvent-free conditions. Importantly, these nanoparticles have been collected from the reaction mixture using an external magnet and recycled up to minimum of 15 cycles with no substantial loss of catalytic characteristics.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Novel 4-[3-(6/7/8-Substituted 4-Oxo-4H-chromen-3-yl)acryloyl]phenylboronic acid derivatives (5a-h) as well as other 6/7/8-substituted-3-(3-oxo-3-(4-substitutedphenyl) prop-1-enyl)-4H-chromen-4-one derivatives (3a-u) have been designed as p53-MDM2 pathway inhibitors and reported to possess significant cytotoxic properties against several cancer cell lines. OBJECTIVES The current project aims to frame the structure-anticancer activity relationship of chromen-4-on-3-yl chalcones (3a-u/5a-h). In addition, docking studies were performed on these chromeno-chalcones in order to have an insight into their interaction possibilities with MDM2 protein. METHODS Twenty-nine chromen-4-on-3-yl chalcone derivatives (3a-u/5a-h) were prepared by utilizing silica supported-HClO4 (green route with magnificent yield) and tested against four cancer cell lines (HCT116, MCF-7, THP-1, NCIH322). RESULTS Among the series 3a-u, compound 3b exhibited the highest anticancer activity (with IC50 values ranging from 8.6 to 28.4 µM) overall against tested cancer cell lines. Interestingly, para- Boronic acid derivative (5b) showed selective inhibition against colon cancer cell line, HCT-116 with an IC50 value of 2.35 µM. Besides the emblematic hydrophobic interactions of MDM2 inhibitors, derivative 5b was found to exhibit extra hydrogen bonding with GLN59 and GLN72 residues of MDM2 in molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. All the compounds were virtually nontoxic against normal fibroblast cells. CONCLUSION Novel compounds were obtained with good anticancer activity especially 6- Chlorochromen-4-one substituted boronic acid derivative 5b. The molecular docking study proposed good activity as a MDM-2 inhibitor suggesting hydrophobic as well as hydrogen bonding interactions with MDM2.

Abstract
A straightforward synthetic strategy was developed for the synthesis of the tetrasaccharide repeating unit corresponding to the O-specific polysaccharide of Azospirillum doebereinerae type strain GSF71T in a very good yield adopting sequential glycosylation followed by removal of the p-methoxybenzyl (PMB) group in the same pot. Further, the synthetic strategy was modified by carrying out three stereoselective iterative glycosylations followed by in situ removal of the PMB group in one pot. The stereochemical outcome of the newly formed glycosidic linkages was excellent using thioglycoside derivatives as glycosyl donors and a combination of N-iodosuccinimide (NIS) and perchloric acid supported on silica (HClO4-SiO2) as the glycosyl activator.

Abstract
A Brønsted acid catalyzed intramolecular cyclization of N-Cbz-protected diazoketones, derived from α-amino acids, is described. The reaction proceeds under metal-free conditions and is promoted by ecofriendly silica-supported HClO4 as the catalyst and methanol as the solvent. This transformation enables the short synthesis of various 1,3-oxazinane-2,5-diones under mild reaction conditions and in good yields (up to 90%). The set-up is very simple; by just mixing all reagents together with no work-up necessary before purification, this protocol takes a greener approach.

Abstract
Mother Nature needs to be protected from ever increasing chemical pollutions associated with synthetic organic processes. The fundamental challenge for today's methodologists is to make their protocols more environmentally benign and sustainable by avoiding the extensive use of hazardous reagents and solvents, harsh reaction conditions, and toxic metal catalysts. However, the people of the twenty-first century are well aware about the side effects of those hazardous substances used and generated by the chemical processes. As a result, the last decade has seen a tremendous outburst in modifying chemical processes to make them 'sustainable' for the betterment of our environment. Catalysts play a crucial role in organic synthesis and thus they find huge applications and uses. Scientists' continuously trying to modify the catalysts to reduce their toxicity level, but the most benign way is to design an organic reaction without catalyst(s), if possible. It is worthy to mention that the involvement of ultrasound in organic synthesis is sometimes fulfilling this goal. In many occasions the applications of ultrasound can avoid the use of catalysts in organic reactions. Such beneficial features as a whole have motivated the organic chemists to apply ultrasonic irradiation in more heights and as a results, in recent past, there were immense applications of ultrasound in organic reactions for the synthesis of diverse organic scaffolds under catalyst-free condition. The present review summarizes the latest developments on ultrasound assisted catalyst-free organic synthesis reported so far.

Abstract
Herein, we describe a facile and high efficient strategy for the synthesis of two forms of the 7β-t-butoxycarbonylamino-3-chloromethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylates using ultrasonic irradiation. By SiO2as weak Lewis acid catalyst, 4-methoxybenzyl 7β-t-butoxycarbonylamino-3-chloromethyl-3-cephem-carboxylate (Boc-ACLE) and benzhydryl 7β-t-butoxycarbonylamino-3-chloromethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylate (Boc-ACLH) were successfully synthesized through the efficient protection of theN-t-butoxycarbonyl (N-Boc), and the reactions occurred at low temperature requiring short reaction times and exhibiting excellent isolated yields (96% and 96.2%, resp.). The advantages of this reaction route including the usage of economical reagents and mild reaction conditions and high isolated yield make the two significantt-butoxycarbonylamino cephalosporin intermediates possible in large-scale production.

Abstract
A simple, efficient, and eco-friendly protocol for the N-Boc protection of the amine moiety in a variety of compounds with di-tert-butyl dicarbonate under water-acetone catalyst-free conditions is described. The corresponding monocarbamate is obtained in excellent yields on short reaction times. No competitive side reactions such as isocyanate urea and O-Boc were observed. This method represents a reasonable alternative to the previous reported protection procedures.
