Abstract
HP's Multi Jet Fusion is a powder bed fusion 3D printing technology that utilizes a carbon-based radiation absorber in combination with a near infrared (NIR) light source to facilitate the fusion of polymer powder in a layer-by-layer fashion to generate 3D parts. Most available carbon-based and NIR radiation absorbers have an intrinsic dark color, which as a result will only produce black/gray and dark colored parts. However, there are many applications that require variable color, including prosthetics, medical models, and indicators, among others. To create white, bright colored, and translucent parts with MJF, a visibly transparent and colorless radiation absorber is required. In this paper, we designed an activating fusing agent (AFA) that contains a red, strong NIR absorbing dye that turns colorless after harvesting irradiation energy during the MJF 3D printing process and provide a bright colored part when working with other color agents.

Abstract
Schiff base complexes derived from salicylaldehyde and ethylene-, propylene-, and trans-1,2-cyclohexane-diamines exhibit p-channel transistor properties. The Cu complexes are open-shell compounds, but the oxidation and the hole transport occur at the highest occupied molecular orbital, where the singly occupied molecular orbital (SOMO) does not participate in conduction. Although Ni complexes tend to show larger mobilities than Cu complexes owing to the molecular planarity, the presence of SOMO is not harmful to the transistor properties.

Abstract
Optimized nanomorphology in organic thin active layers is crucial for good performance in organic solar cells. However, the relation between morphology and electronic properties at nanoscale remains not completely understood. Here, we study the effect of film thickness and temperature annealing on the ordering of poly(3-hexylthiophene) chains when the polymer is blended with a columnar liquid crystalline molecule. Electronic absorption, atomic force microscopy measurements, and Raman spectroscopy show that morphology and chain ordering of the blend depend on the film thickness. We highlight the benefit of using a liquid crystal in organic blends, opening the way to use simple processing methods for the fabrication of organic electronic devices.

Abstract
In this work, we propose the application of liquid crystalline acceptors as a potential means to improve the performances of bulk heterojunction (BHJ) organic solar cells. LC-1, a structurally-simple perylene diimide (PDI), has been adopted as a model for thorough investigation. It exhibits a broad temperature range of liquid crystalline (LC) phase from 41 °C to 158 °C, and its LC properties have been characterized by differental scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarization optical microscopy (POM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The BHJ devices, using P3HT:LC-1 (1:2) as an organic photovoltaic active layer undergoing thermal annealing at 120 °C, shows an optimized efficiency of 0.94 %. By contrast, the devices based on PDI-1, a nonliquid crystalline PDI counterpart, only obtain a much lower efficiency of 0.22%. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) images confirm that the active layers composed of P3HT:LC-1 have smooth and ordered morphology. In space charge limited current (SCLC) devices fabricated via a spin-coating technique, LC-1 shows the intrinsic electron mobility of 2.85 × 10(-4) cm(2)/(V s) (at 0.3 MV/cm) which is almost 5 times that of PDI-1 (5.83 × 10(-5) cm(2)/(V s)) under the same conditions for thermal annealing at 120 °C.

Abstract
Square planar complexes of the type Ni(L(1))(2), Ni(L(2))(2), Cu(L(1))(2), and Cu(L(2))(2), where L(1)H = 2-hydroxy-5-t-octylacetophenone oxime and L(2)H = 2-hydroxy-5-n-propylacetophenone oxime, have been prepared and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, cyclic voltammetry, UV/vis spectroscopy, field-effect-transistor measurements, density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT (TDDFT) calculations, and, in the case of the paramagnetic species, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and magnetic susceptibility. Variation of alkyl groups on the ligand from t-octyl to n-propyl enabled electronic isolation of the complexes in the crystal structures of M(L(1))(2) contrasting with π-stacking interactions for M(L(2))(2) (M = Ni, Cu). This was evidenced by a one-dimensional antiferromagnetic chain for Cu(L(2))(2) but ideal paramagnetic behavior for Cu(L(1))(2) down to 1.8 K. Despite isostructural single crystal structures for M(L(2))(2), thin-film X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed different morphologies depending on the metal and the deposition method (vapor or solution). The Cu complexes displayed limited electronic interaction between the central metal and the delocalized ligands, with more mixing in the case of Ni(II), as shown by electrochemistry and UV/vis spectroscopy. The complexes M(L(2))(2) showed poor charge transport in a field-effect transistor (FET) device despite the ability to form π-stacking structures, and this provides design insights for metal complexes to be used in conductive thin-film devices.

Abstract
A new dithiolene ligand with 3,5-dibromo substituted phenyl groups was designed and synthesized. The protected form of the ligand was reacted with a nickel salt providing neutral Ni(S(2)C(2)(3,5-C(6)H(3)Br(2))(2))(2) and anionic [Ni(S(2)C(2)(3,5-C(6)H(3)Br(2))(2))(2)](-) isolated as a Bu(4)N(+) salt. Both were characterized by UV-visible and IR spectroscopy and compared with the similar known molecular systems. They exhibit intense low-energy transitions that are characteristic of such systems. The electrochemical behavior of these molecules was investigated by cyclic voltammetry.
