Abstract
Aedes aegypti is the main vector that transmits viral diseases such as dengue, hemorrhagic dengue, urban yellow fever, zika, and chikungunya. Worldwide, many cases of dengue have been reported in recent years, showing significant growth. The best way to manage diseases transmitted by Aedes aegypti is to control the vector with insecticides, which have already been shown to be toxic to humans; moreover, insects have developed resistance. Thus, the development of new insecticides is considered an emergency. One way to achieve this goal is to apply computational methods based on ligands and target information. In this study, sixteen compounds with acceptable insecticidal activities, with 100% larvicidal activity at low concentrations (2.0 to 0.001 mg·L−1), were selected from the literature. These compounds were used to build up and validate pharmacophore models. Pharmacophore model 6 (AUC = 0.78; BEDROC = 0.6) was used to filter 4793 compounds from the subset of lead-like compounds from the ZINC database; 4142 compounds (dG < 0 kcal/mol) were then aligned to the active site of the juvenile hormone receptor Aedes aegypti (PDB: 5V13), 2240 compounds (LE < −0.40 kcal/mol) were prioritized for molecular docking from the construction of a chitin deacetylase model of Aedes aegypti by the homology modeling of the Bombyx mori species (PDB: 5ZNT), which aligned 1959 compounds (dG < 0 kcal/mol), and 20 compounds (LE < −0.4 kcal/mol) were predicted for pharmacokinetic and toxicological prediction in silico (Preadmet, SwissADMET, and eMolTox programs). Finally, the theoretical routes of compounds M01, M02, M03, M04, and M05 were proposed. Compounds M01−M05 were selected, showing significant differences in pharmacokinetic and toxicological parameters in relation to positive controls and interaction with catalytic residues among key protein sites reported in the literature. For this reason, the molecules investigated here are dual inhibitors of the enzymes chitin synthase and juvenile hormonal protein from insects and humans, characterizing them as potential insecticides against the Aedes aegypti mosquito.

Abstract
An operationally simple catalyst-free protocol for the direct regiospecific synthesis of β-(C3)-substituted pyrroles has been developed. The enamine intermediate, in situ generated from succinaldehyde and a primary amine, was trapped with activated carbonyls before the Paal-Knorr reaction in a direct multicomponent "just-mix" fashion to furnish pyrroles with overall good yields. Several C3-substituted N-alkyl/aryl/H pyrroles have been produced under open-flask conditions with high atom economy and avoiding protection-deprotection chemistry.

Abstract
[Co(5tpybNOH)2](BPh4)2 (1; 5tpybNOH = 5,5''-bis(N-tert-butyl hydroxylamino)-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine) has a two-dimensional (2D) structure through a hydrogen bond between the NOH sites, as revealed by X-ray crystallography. The crystal solvents were desorbed above 300 K as shown by thermal analyses and powder X-ray crystallography. The removal of the crystal solvents allowed irreversible structural changes and a spin transition of the Co centre from S = 1/2 to 3/2.

Abstract
A green and sustainable nitrone formation reaction via visible-light-promoted reaction of aryl diazoacetates with nitrosoarenes is described. This protocol exhibits good functional group tolerance and broad substrate scope for both aryl diazoacetates with nitrosoarenes. Comparing the reported methods for the synthesis of nitrones from nitrosoarenes, the reaction described herein occurs under sole visible-light irradiation without the need of any catalysts and additives.

Abstract
The synthesis of β-(C3)-functionalized pyrroles is a challenging task and requires a multistep protocol. An operationally simple direct catalytic synthesis of β-substituted pyrroles has been developed. This one-pot multicomponent method combined aqueous succinaldehyde as 1,4-dicarbonyl, primary amines, and isatins to access hydroxyl-oxindole β-tethered pyrroles. Direct synthesis of the β-substituted free NH-pyrrole is the central intensity of this work. DFT-calculations and preliminary mechanism investigation support the possible reaction pathway.

Abstract
Highly enantioselective Friedel-Crafts alkylation of pyrroles with 2-enoyl-pyridine N-oxides in water/chloroform (10:1) was developed under catalysis of Lewis acid. The Friedel-Crafts alkylation products can be obtained in high yields and excellent enantioselectivities. Moreover, several control experiments were carried out to study the reaction mechanism.

Abstract
Nitrones are important compounds and are highly useful in many aspects. The first part describes the methods for synthesis of nitrones, which are useful and environmentally friendly. Catalytic oxidations, condensations, and other useful reactions are described. The nitrones thus obtained are key intermediates for the synthesis of biologically important nitrogen compounds. The second part describes the fundamental transformations of nitrones, which will provide the strategies and means for the construction of nitrogen compounds. The reactions with nucleophiles or radicals, C-H functionalization, and various addition reactions are described. The last reactions are particularly important for highly selective carbon-carbon bond formations. 1,3-Dipolar cycloaddition reactions are excluded because the size of the review is limited and excellent reviews have been published in Chemical Reviews.

Abstract
A highly enantioselective Friedel-Crafts alkylation of pyrrole to β,γ-unsaturated α-ketoesters was developed by virtue of a chiral copper complex, affording the alkylated derivatives of pyrrole with good yields and excellent enantioselectivities. Moreover, merging copper catalysis with gold catalysis realized a one-pot construction of the seven-membered ring to give annulated pyrroles with moderate to good yields and high enantiomeric excesses.

Abstract
d-Glucopyranose-derived and l-idopyranose-derived piperidine nitrones were synthesized in good overall yields through six-step reaction sequence starting from readily available 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-benzyl-d-glucopyranose. The method is efficient and could be general for the synthesis of aldohexose-derived piperidine nitrones which are precursors of piperidine iminosugars.

Abstract
A new strategy for the preparation of unsymmetrical 2,2'-bis(pyrrolyl)alkanes has been developed. It involved the condensation of pyrrole derivatives onto N-benzylhydroxylamines in the presence of HCl. This two-step procedure provided access to a wide variety of 2,2'-dipyrromethanes (3a-m). It has also been extended to the synthesis of tripyrromethanes 4a-d and of N-confused dipyrromethanes 6a-d.

Abstract
Synthetic routes to chiral molecules containing a pyrrolic ring are discussed: strategies include formation of the pyrrole ring using starting materials appended with chirality, as well as the attachment of chirality to a pre-formed pyrrole.

Abstract
This critical review, which is relevant to researchers in synthetic organic chemistry, focuses on asymmetric 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions with acrylamides. The use of chiral acrylamides as dipolarophiles leads to high levels of stereocontrol, due to conformational constraint in the acrylamides. Employment of chiral tertiary acrylamides containing nitrogen heterocycles is particularly effective in controlling the stereoselectivity. Following a general overview of 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions, the main body of the review focuses on asymmetric 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions of acrylamides with nitrile oxides, nitrones, diazoalkanes and azomethine ylides, with particular emphasis on the rationale for the observed stereocontrol (215 references).
