Abstract
A novel actinide-containing coordination polymer, [Am(C2O4)(H2O)3Cl] (Am-1), has been synthesized and structurally characterized. The crystallographic analysis reveals that the structure is two-dimensional and comprised of pseudo-dimeric Am3+ nodes that are bridged by oxalate ligands to form sheets. Each metal center is nine-coordinate, forming a distorted capped square antiprism geometry with a C1 symmetry, and features bound oxalate, aqua, and chloro ligands. The Am3+-ligand bonds were probed computationally using the quantum theory of atoms in molecules nd natural localized molecular orbital approaches to investigate the underlying mechanisms and hybrid atomic orbital contributions therein. The analyses indicate that the bonds within Am-1 are predominantly ionic and the 5f shell of the Am3+ metal centers does not add a significant covalent contribution to the bonds. Our bonding assessment is supported by measurements on the optical properties of Am-1 using diffuse reflectance and photoluminescence spectroscopies. The position of the principal absorption band at 507 nm (5L6' ← 7F0') is notable because it is consistent with previously reported americium oxalate complexes in solution, indicating similarities in the electronic structure and ionic bonding. Compound Am-1 is an active phosphor, featuring strong bright-blue oxalate-based luminescence with no evidence of metal-centered emission.

Magnetic and Luminescent Properties of Isostructural 2D Coordination Polymers Based on 2-Pyrimidinecarboxylate and Lanthanide Ions. CRYSTALS 2020. Abstract
A couple of isostructural coordination polymers with the general formula [Ln4(pymca)4(AcO)8]n have been obtained from reactions between pyrimidine-2-carboxylate (pymca) ligand and rare-earth ions (Ln = Dy (1), Nd (2)). These two-dimensional compounds have been characterized and the crystal structures have been solved by single-crystal X-ray diffraction technique, resulting in layers along the bc plane based on pymca and acetate anions that act as bridging ligands between metal atoms. Given that pymca and acetate anions possess carboxylate and hetero-nitrogen groups, it is possible to build a coordination polymer whose metal centers have a nine coordination. Furthermore, static and dynamic magnetic measurements of compound 1 reveal the lack of single molecule-magnet (SMM) behavior in this system due to the following two effects: (i) the ligand field does not stabilize magnetic ground states well separated from excited states, and (ii) anisotropy axes are not collinear, according to results with Magellan software. On another level, luminescent properties of compounds 1 and 2 are attributed to singlet π-π* transitions centered on pymca ligand as corroborated by time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) calculations.

Abstract
Deliberately controlling organic ligand transformation in situ has remained a challenge for the construction of polyoxometalate (POM)-based inorganic-organic hybrids. In this work, four POM-based hybrids assembled from an in situ bifurcating organic ligand-[Cu2(DIBA)4](H3PMo12O40)·6H2O (1), [Cu2(DIBA)4](H4SiW12O40)·6H2O (2), [Ag(HDIBA)2](H2PMo12O40)·2H2O (3), [Ag3(HDIBA)2(H2O)][(P2W18O62)1/2]·4H2O (4) (DIBAH = 3,5-di(1H-imidazol-1-yl) benzoic acid)-have been designed and obtained under hydrothermal conditions. Compounds 1 and 2 are isostructural, displaying a three-dimensional (3D) 2-fold interpenetrating framework with two types of channels, and the bigger channels are occupied by Keggin polyoxoanions and crystallization water molecules, but only crystallization water molecules in the smaller ones. Compound 3 displays a 3D supramolecular structure constructed from {Ag(HDIBA)2} segments and PMo12O40(3-) polyoxoanions through hydrogen bonding interactions. Compound 4 shows a 3D 2-fold interpenetrating framework based on (3, 3, 4)-connected network, which is constructed from {Ag3(HDIBA)2}n chains and P2W18O62(6-) polyoxoanions as linkers. The DIBAH ligand was generated in situ from 3,5-di(1H-imidazol-1-yl)benzonitrile by deliberate design, which illustrates that the strategy to construct novel POM-based hybrids by controlling ligand transformation in situ is rational and feasible. In addition, the effects of the central metal and POMs on the structures of the target compounds were discussed. Finally, the electrochemical and photocatalytic properties of compounds 1-4 have been investigated in this paper.

Abstract
In the title complex, [Fe(C(2)O(4))(C(5)H(4)N(2)O(4))](n), the Fe(II) ion is coordinated by two oxalate anions and a pyrimidine-2-carb-oxy-lic acid ligand in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. Each oxalate anion chelates to two Fe(II) ions, forming chains along the a axis. The chains are further connected by O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, stabilizing the structure. An intra-molecular O-H⋯N inter-action results in a five-membered ring.
