Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks containing responsive organic linkers are attractive for potential applications in sensors and molecular devices. Herein we report three cobalt(II) phosphonates incorporating responsive dianthracene linkers, namely, Co2 (amp2 H2 )2 (H2 O)4 ⋅ 6H2 O (MDAF-1), Co2 (amp2 )(H2 O)4 ⋅ 2H2 O (MDAF-2) and Co(amp2 H2 ) ⋅ 2H2 O ⋅ 0.5DMF (MDAF-3), where amp2 H4 is pre-photodimerized 9-anthrylmethylphosphonic acid. MDAF-1 shows a layer structure in which dinuclear Co2 (PO3 H)2 units are inter-connected by dianthracene ligands. In MDAF-2 and MDAF-3, inorganic chains of corner-sharing {CoO4 } (or {CoO6 }) and {PO3 C} are cross-linked by dianthracene ligands into 3D frameworks. All compounds underwent thermo-induced phase transitions, first the de-solvation and then the de-dimerization of dianthracene (as well as the release of the remaining solvent molecules for MDAF-2 and -3), associated with magnetic changes. MDAF-1 can be exfoliated into single-layer nanosheets in water which show light-triggered luminescent changes.

Abstract
Two novel metal pyridylmethylphosphonates, namely, [Co(4-pmp)] (1) and [Cu(4-pmp)(H2O)] (2), (4-pmpH2 = 4-pyridylmethylphosphonic acid), have been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis. In compound 1, each {PO3C} tetrahedron is corner-shared with three {CoNO3} tetrahedra and vice versa, thus forming a one-dimensional (1-D) inorganic chain along the a axis containing 8-membered rings of [(Co-O-P-O)2]. The inorganic chains are further connected by a 4-pmp(2-) ligand, generating a 2-D layered structure. Compound 2 displays a three-dimensional (3-D) framework structure, in which the inorganic layers are pillared by the pyridyl groups of the ligand, generating a 3-D pillared-layered structure. The magnetic properties of 1 and 2 have been studied. Compounds 1 and 2 behave as metamagnets at low temperature. The critical fields are about 70 kOe for 1 and 47 kOe for 2 at 1.8 K.

Abstract
By introduction of 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid as a second organic ligand, two new divalent metal(II) phosphonates with a 3D framework structure, namely, [Zn(HL1)(bdc)(0.5)] (1) and [Cd(1.5)(HL2)(bdc)(0.5)] (2) (H(2)L1 = H(2)O(3)PCH(NH(2))C(6)H(5), H(3)L2 = H(2)O(3)PCH(2)-NC(5)H(9)-COOH, H(2)bdc = HOOCC(6)H(4)COOH), have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The two compounds show three-dimensional (3D) framework structure with infinite two-dimensional (2D) networks pillared by H(2)bdc. For compound 1, the {ZnO(4)} polyhedra are interconnected by phosphonate groups into a 2D layer, and the adjacent layers are further cross-linked via the bdc(2-) anions to generate a three-dimensional framework structure with two types of channel system along the c-axis. A notable feature of compound 1 is the presence of alternate left- and right-handed helical chains in the structure. In compound 2, the inorganic chains, composed of {Cd(1)O(7)}, {Cd(2)O(4)} and {CPO(3)} polyhedra, are linked by HL2(2-) ligands to form a double layer structure in the ab plane, and the adjacent layers are further linked by the bdc(2-) anions to form a 3D framework structure with one-dimensional channel systems along the a-axis. Luminescence properties of compounds 1 and 2 have also been studied.

Abstract
The first structurally authenticated example of coordinated polymer featuring homometallic pillared-trilayer structure, [Co(3)(ina)(2)(pico)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n) (1), was built from mixed pyridyl-type monocarboxylates, isonicotinate (ina) and 3-hydroxypicolinate (pico), containing Kagome-type [Co(3)(pico)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n)(2n+) trilayers. The magnetic phase diagram of 1 shows a metamagnetic transition below 3.2 K, arising from the competing interactions between the antiferromagnetic intralayer couplings in different amplitudes with obviously noncompensated moments versus weak AF interlayer coupling.
