Abstract
Cationic triangulenes, and related helicenes, constitute a rich class of dyes and fluorophores, usually absorbing and emitting light at low energy, in the orange to red domains. Recently, to broaden the scope of applications, regioselective late‐stage functionalizations on these core moieties have been developed. For instance, with the introduction of electron‐donating groups (EDGs), important bathochromic shifts are observed pushing absorptions towards or in the near‐infrared (NIR) spectral domain while emissive properties disappear essentially completely. Herein, to upset this drawback, acetylene derivatives of cationic diazaoxa triangulenes (DAOTA) and [4]helicenes are prepared (16 examples). Contrary to other EDG‐functionalized derivatives, C≡C− functionalized products remain broadly fluorescent, with red‐shifted absorptions (Δλabs up to 25 nm) and emissions (Δλem up to 73 nm, ΦPL up to 51 %). Quite interestingly, a general dynamic stereoisomerism phenomenon is evidenced for the compounds derived from achiral DAOTA cores. At low temperature in 1H NMR spectroscopy (218 K), N−CH2 protons become diastereotopic with chemical shifts differences (Δδ) as high as +1.64 ppm. The signal coalescence occurs around 273 K with a barrier of ∼12 kcal mol−1. This phenomenon is due to planar chiral conformations (Sp and Rp configurations), induced by the geometry of the alkyl (n‐propyl) side‐chains next to the acetylenic substituents. Ion pairing studies with Δ‐TRISPHAT anion not only confirm the occurrence of the chiral conformations but evidence a moderate but definite asymmetric induction from the chiral anion onto the cations. Finally, DFT calculations offer a valuable insight on the geometries, the corresponding stereodynamics and also on the very large difference in NMR for some of the diastereotopic protons.

Abstract
A "click" active-metal-template strategy has been exploited to develop mono- and bi-2,2′,6′,2″-terpyridine functionalised [2]rotaxanes. When reacted with Fe(ii) ions these rotaxanes formed metallo-bis-([2]rotaxanes), macrocycles and oligomers.

Abstract
Chirality is a concept that lies at the heart of organic chemistry but is often ignored in discussions of inorganic systems. This omission is all the more surprising, given the seminal role played by the study of chiral systems in the development of coordination chemistry. This tutorial review gives a brief introduction to the concept of chirality in coordination and supramolecular compounds for the non-specialist.

Abstract
We report reactions of cobalt(II) acetate with a series of ditopic bis(tpy) ligands (tpy = 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine) containing flexible polyethyleneoxy spacers (tpy-4'-O{(CH(2))(2)O}(n)-4'-tpy, n = 2, 3, 4 or 6 ligands 1-4, respectively) which result in the formation of complicated mixtures of species, presumed to be both open chain and cyclic species. Well resolved paramagnetically shifted (1)H NMR spectra are a powerful tool for the analysis of these solution systems. Upon equilibration, [n + n] metallomacrocycles are isolated as the dominant (thermodynamic) species in some cases, and the single crystal X-ray structures of [Co(2)(3)(2)][PF(6)](4)·6MeCN and [Co(2)(4)(2)][PF(6)](5)·2MeCN (a mixed cobalt(ii)/cobalt(iii) species) are presented. Oxidation of the equilibrated cobalt(II) mixtures to kinetically inert cobalt(III) species provides additional evidence for the formation of metallomacrocycles as the thermodynamic products. Single crystal structural data for [Co(3)(2)(3)][PF(6)](9)·2MeCN·3.5H(2)O, [Co(2)(3)(2)][PF(6)](6)·10MeCN and [Co(2)(4)(2)][PF(6)](6)·6MeCN confirm the assembly of [2 + 2] and [3 + 3] metallomacrocycles. PGSE NMR spectroscopy has been used to determine the hydrodynamic radii of the solution species.
