Abstract
Despite impressive advances in the construction of enantioenriched silacarbocycles featuring silicon-stereogenic centers via a selection of well-defined sila-synthons, the development of a more convenient and economic method with readily available starting materials is significantly less explored and remains a considerable challenge. Herein, we report the first example of copper-catalyzed sequential hydrosilylation of readily accessible methylenecyclopropanes (MCPs) and primary silanes, affording an efficient and convenient route to a wide range of chiral silacyclopentanes bearing consecutive silicon- and carbon-stereogenic centers with excellent enantio- and diastereoselectivities (generally ≥98 % ee, >25 : 1 dr). Mechanistic studies reveal that these reactions combine copper-catalyzed intermolecular ring-opening hydrosilylation of aryl MCPs and intramolecular asymmetric hydrosilylation of the resultant Z/E mixture of homoallylic silanes.

Abstract
The catalytic access of silicon-stereogenic organosilanes remains a big challenge, and largely depends on the desymmetrization of the symmetric precursors with two identical substitutes attached to silicon atom. Here we report the construction of silicon-stereogenic organosilanes via catalytic kinetic resolution of racemic monohydrosilanes with good to excellent selectivity factors. Both Si-stereogenic dihydrobenzosiloles and Si-stereogenic monohydrosilanes could be efficiently accessed in one single operation via Rh-catalyzed enantioselective intramolecular hydrosilylation, employing (R,R)-Et-DuPhos as the optimal ligand. This catalytic protocol features mild conditions, a low catalyst loading (0.1 mol % [Rh(cod)Cl]2), high stereoinduction (S factor up to 152), and excellent scalability. Moreover, further derivatizations led to the efficient synthesis of uncommon middle-size (7- and 8-membered) Si-stereogenic silacycles. Preliminary mechanistic study indicates this reaction might undergo a modified Chalk-Harrod mechanism.

Abstract
The construction of silicon-stereogenic silanols via Pd-catalyzed intermolecular C-H alkenylation with the assistance of a commercially available L-pyroglutamic acid has been realized for the first time. Employing oxime ether as the directing group, silicon-stereogenic silanol derivatives could be readily prepared with excellent enantioselectivities, featuring a broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance. Moreover, parallel kinetic resolution with unsymmetric substrates further highlighted the generality of this protocol. Mechanistic studies indicate that L-pyroglutamic acid could stabilize the Pd catalyst and provide excellent chiral induction. Preliminary computational studies unveil the origin of the enantioselectivity in the C-H bond activation step.

Abstract
Silicon-stereogenic optically active silylboranes could potentially allow the formation of chiral silyl nucleophiles as well as the synthesis of various chiral silicon compounds. However, the synthesis of such silicon-stereogenic silylboranes has not been achieved so far. Here, we report the synthesis of silicon-stereogenic optically active silylboranes via a stereospecific Pt(PPh3)4-catalyzed Si-H borylation of chiral hydrosilanes, which are synthesized by stoichiometric and catalytic asymmetric synthesis, in high yield and very high or perfect enantiospecificity (99% es in one case, and >99% es in the others) with retention of the configuration. Furthermore, we report a practical approach to generate silicon-stereogenic silyl nucleophiles with high enantiopurity and configurational stability using MeLi activation. This protocol is suitable for the stereospecific and general synthesis of silicon-stereogenic trialkyl-, dialkylbenzyl-, dialkylaryl-, diarylalkyl-, and alkylary benzyloxy-substituted silylboranes and their corresponding silyl nucleophiles with excellent enantiospecificity (>99% es except one case of 99% es). Transition-metal-catalyzed C-Si bond-forming cross-coupling reactions and conjugate-addition reactions are also demonstrated. The mechanisms underlying the stability and reactivity of such chiral silyl anion were investigated by combining NMR spectroscopy and DFT calculations.

Abstract
Optically active organosilanes have been demonstrated to be versatile chiral reagents in synthetic chemistry since the early seminal contributions by Sommer and Corriu. Among these silicon-containing chiral architectures, monohydrosilanes, which bear a Si-H bond, hold a unique position because of their facile transformations through stereospecific Si-carbon or Si-heteroatom bond-formation reactions. In addition, those compounds have also been leveraged as chiral reagents for alcohol resolution, chiral auxiliaries, mechanistic probes, as well as potential optoelectronic materials. This Minireview comprehensively summarizes the synthesis and synthetic applications of silicon-stereogenic monohydrosilanes, particularly the advances in the transition-metal-catalyzed asymmetric synthesis of this class of functional molecules.

Abstract
Intermolecular C-H silylation for the synthesis of acyclic silanes bearing a silicon-stereogenic center in one enantiomeric form remains unknown to date. Herein, we report the first enantioselective intermolecular C-H silylation of heteroarenes for the synthesis of acyclic silicon-stereogenic heteroarylsilanes. This process undergoes a rhodium-catalyzed direct intermolecular dehydrogenative Si-H/C-H cross-coupling, giving access to a variety of acyclic heteroarylated silicon-stereogenic monohydrosilanes, including bis-Si-stereogenic silanes, in decent yields with excellent chemo-, regio-, and stereo-control, which significantly enlarge the chemical space of the optically active silicon-stereogenic monohydrosilanes.

Abstract
Organosilicon compounds are widely used in materials science, medicinal chemistry and synthetic chemistry. Recently, significant progress has been achieved in transition metal-catalyzed dehydrogenative C-H silylation. Particularly, recently developed monohydrosilane and dihydrosilane mediated C-H silylation have emerged as powerful tools in constructing C-Si bonds. Besides, dihydrosilane-mediated enantioselective asymmetric C-H silylation has successfully achieved the construction of central and helical silicon chirality. In addition, chiral organosilicon compounds have exhibited excellent photoelectric material properties and broad application prospects. Furthermore, organosilicon compounds could under a series of functional group transformations to enrich the diversity of silicon chemistry. This review will present a comprehensive picture of the development of transition metal-catalyzed hydrosilanes-mediated intramolecular C(sp 2 )-H and C(sp 3 )-H silylation organized by their reaction types and mechanisms. In addition, dihydrosilane-mediated enantioselective asymmetric C-H silylation to construct central and helical silicon chirality will also be highlighted in the review.

Abstract
Catalytic sequential hydrosilylation of 1,3-enynes and 1,4-enynes promoted by cobalt complexes derived from bisphosphines are presented. Site- and stereoselective Si-H addition of primary silanes to 1,3-enynes followed by sequential intramolecular diastereo- and enantioselective Si-H addition afforded enantioenriched cyclic alkenylsilanes with simultaneous construction of a carbon-stereogenic center and a silicon-stereogenic center. Reactions of 1,4-enynes proceeded through sequential isomerization of the alkene moiety followed by site- and stereoselective hydrosilylation. A wide range of alkenylsilanes were afforded in high efficiency and selectivity. Functionalization of the enantioenriched silanes containing a stereogenic center at silicon delivered a variety of chiral building blocks that are otherwise difficult to access.

Abstract
The mechanism of the asymmetric silylation of alcohols with isothiourea catalysts was studied by employing reaction progress kinetic analysis. These reactions were developed by the Wiskur group, and use triphenyl silyl chloride and chiral isothiourea catalysts to silylate the alcohols. While the order of most reaction components was as expected (catalyst, amine base, alcohol), the silyl chloride was determined to be a higher order. This suggested a multistep mechanism between the catalyst and silyl chloride, with the second equivalent of silyl chloride assisting in the formation of the reactive intermediate leading to the rate-determining step. Through the addition of additives and investigating changes in the silyl chloride, an understanding of the catalyst equilibrium emerged for this reaction and provided pathways for further reaction development.

Abstract
A Rh-catalyzed asymmetric synthesis of silicon-stereogenic dihydrodibenzosilines featuring axially chiral 6-membered bridged biaryls is demonstrated. In the presence of a RhI catalyst with a chiral diphosphine ligand, a wide range of dihydrodibenzosilines containing both silicon-central and axial chiralities are conveniently constructed in excellent enantioselectivities via dehydrogenative C(sp3 )-H silylation. Absolute configuration analysis by single-crystal X-ray structures revealed a novel silicon central-to-axial chirality relay phenomenon, which we believe will inspire further research in the field of asymmetric catalysis and chiroptical materials.

Abstract
A rhodium-catalyzed enantioselective construction of triorgano-substituted silicon-stereogenic siloxanes and alkoxysilanes is developed. This process undergoes a direct intermolecular dehydrogenative Si-O coupling between dihydrosilanes with silanols or alocohols, giving access to a variety of highly functionalized chiral siloxanes and alkoxysilanes in decent yields with excellent stereocontrol, that significantly expand the chemical space of the silicon-centered chiral molecules. Further utility of this process was illustrated by the construction of CPL-active (circularly polarized luminescence) silicon-stereogenic alkoxysilane small organic molecules. Optically pure bis-alkoxysilane containing two silicon-stereogenic centers and three pyrene groups displayed a remarkable glum value with a high fluorescence quantum efficiency (glum = 0.011, ΦF = 0.55), which could have great potential application prospects in chiral organic optoelectronic materials.

Abstract
A rhodium(I)-catalyzed enantioselective silylation of aliphatic C-H bonds for the synthesis of silicon-stereogenic dihydrobenzosiloles is demonstrated. This reaction involves a highly enantioselective intramolecular C(sp3 )-H silylation of dihydrosilanes, followed by a stereospecific intermolecular alkene hydrosilylation leading to the asymmetrically tetrasubstituted silanes. A wide range of dihydrosilanes and alkenes displaying various functional groups are compatible with this process, giving access to a variety of highly functionalized silicon-stereogenic dihydrobenzosiloles in good to excellent yields and enantioselectivities.

Abstract
Chirality widely exists in a diverse array of biologically active molecules and life forms, and the catalytic constructions of chiral molecules have triggered a heightened interest in the fields of chemistry and materials and pharmaceutical sciences. However, the synthesis of silicon-stereogenic organosilicon compounds is generally recognized as a much more difficult task than that of carbon-stereogenic centers because of no abundant organosilicon-based chiral sources in nature. Herein, we reported a highly enantioselective rhodium-catalyzed trans-selective hydrosilylation of silicon-tethered bisalkynes to access chiral benzosiloles bearing a silicon-stereogenic center. This protocol featured with chiral Ar-BINMOL-Phos bearing hydrogen-bond donors as a privileged P-ligand for catalytic asymmetric hydrosilylation that is operationally simple and has 100% atom-economy with good functional group tolerability as well as high enantioselectivity (up to >99:1 er). Benefiting from the trans-selective hydrosilylation with the aid of Rh/Ar-BINMOL-Phos-based asymmetric catalysis, the Si-stereogenic benzosiloles exhibited pronounced aggregation-induced emission (AIE) and circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) activity.

Abstract
A novel and unusual palladium-catalyzed [4+2] annulation of cyclopropenes with benzosilacyclobutanes is reported. This reaction occurred through chemoselective Si-C(sp2 ) bond activation in synergy with ring expansion/insertion of cyclopropenes to form new C(sp2 )-C(sp3 ) and Si-C(sp3 ) bonds. An array of previously elusive bicyclic skeleton with high strain, silabicyclo[4.1.0]heptanes, were formed in good yields with excellent diastereoselectivity under mild conditions. An asymmetric version of the reaction with a chiral phosphoramidite ligand furnished a variety of chiral bicyclic silaheterocycle derivatives with good enantioselectivity (up to 95.5:4.5 er). Owing to the mild reaction conditions, the good stereoselectivity profile, and the ready availability of the functionalized precursors, this process constitutes a useful and straightforward strategy for the synthesis of densely functionalized silacycles.

Abstract
The non-enzymatic kinetic resolution of racemic mixtures of alcohols by silylation had been unknown before the turn of the century. This stands in stark contrast to established acylation techniques. The same applies to the related desymmetrization of diols. This might come as a surprise, given the significance of silyl ethers as protecting groups in multistep synthesis of complex molecules. The situation changed after a seminal report by Ishikawa nearly twenty years ago. Since then, enantioselective silylation of alcohols has matured and grown into an independent research field with organocatalytic and transition-metal-catalyzed approaches providing powerful solutions. This Minireview summarizes these recent advances with particular emphasis on the stereoselective dehydrogenative coupling of alcohols and hydrosilanes.
