Abstract
An efficient and highly regioselective C6-phosphorylation protocol for pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidine (7-DAP) derivatives with various H-phosphine oxides induced by visible light at room temperature is described for the first time. This protocol has been successfully achieved by the combination of Na2-eosin Y as a photocatalyst and LPO as an oxidant under transition metal- and additive-free conditions. The broad substrate scope, good functional group tolerance, excellent regioselectivity, and air tolerant conditions make this process favorable for the functional modification of pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidine scaffold and enrich the phosphorylated 7-DAP compounds for further biological evaluation.

Abstract
A novel and efficient method for the synthesis of aryl phosphonates from aryl halides and trialkylphosphites via EDA complex-based photochemistry has been developed. It is demonstrated that aryl radicals, generated from the photoexcitation of the EDA complex formed by aryl halide and potassium thioacetate, could be intercepted with trialkylphosphite to produce the corresponding aryl phosphonates in moderate to good yields. It should be noted that the reaction is performed at room temperature in the absence of any transition metal catalyst, oxidant and photocatalyst, exhibiting high efficiency, high selectivity, and operational simplicity.

Abstract
The activation of C–H bond, and its direct one-step functionalization, is one of the key synthetic methodologies that provides direct access to a variety of practically significant compounds. Particular attention is focused on modifications obtained at the final stages of the synthesis of complicated molecules, which requires high tolerance to the presence of existing functional groups. Phosphorus is an indispensable element of life, and phosphorus chemistry is now experiencing a renaissance due to new emerging applications in medicinal chemistry, materials chemistry (polymers, flame retardants, organic electronics, and photonics), agricultural chemistry (herbicides, insecticides), catalysis (ligands) and other important areas of science and technology. In this regard, the search for new, more selective, low-waste synthetic routes become relevant. In this context, electrosynthesis has proven to be an eco-efficient and convenient approach in many respects, where the reagents are replaced by electrodes, where the reactants are replaced by electrodes, and the applied potential the applied potential determines their “oxidizing or reducing ability”. An electrochemical approach to such processes is being developed rapidly and demonstrates some advantages over traditional classical methods of C-H phosphorylation. The main reasons for success are the exclusion of excess reagents from the reaction system: such as oxidants, reducing agents, and sometimes metal and/or other improvers, which challenge isolation, increase the wastes and reduce the yield due to frequent incompatibility with these functional groups. Ideal conditions include electron as a reactant (regulated by applied potential) and the by-products as hydrogen or hydrocarbon. The review summarizes and analyzes the achievements of electrochemical methods for the preparation of various phosphorus derivatives with carbon-phosphorus bonds, and collects data on the redox properties of the most commonly used phosphorus precursors. Electrochemically induced reactions both with and without catalyst metals, where competitive oxidation of precursors leads to either the activation of C-H bond or to the generation of phosphorus-centered radicals (radical cations) or metal high oxidation states will be examined. The review focuses on publications from the past 5 years.

Abstract
A nucleophilic aromatic substitution (SNAr) reaction that allowed transition-metal-free C-P bond construction via C-N bond cleavage was developed. The coupling between aryltrimethylammonium salts and secondary phosphines from the in situ reduction of diarylphosphine oxides led to the formation of diverse triarylphosphines with various functional groups. This one-pot process was not only a pertinent SNAr precedent but also a favorable transition-metal-free alternative for C-P coupling.

Abstract
Herein, we present an efficient and mild methodology for the synthesis of aromatic phosphonate esters in good to excellent yields using 10H-phenothiazine, an inexpensive commodity chemical, as a photoredox catalyst. The reaction exhibits wide functional group compatibility enabling the transformation in the presence of ketone, amide, ester, amine, and alcohol moieties. Importantly, the reaction proceeds using a green solvent mixture primarily composed of water, thus lowering the environmental footprint of this transformation compared to current methods. The transformation also proceeds under atmospheric conditions, which further differentiates it from current methods that require inert atmosphere. Mechanistic work using fluorescence quenching experiments and radical trapping approaches support the proposed mechanism.

Abstract
An iodide-accelerated, palladium-catalyzed C-P bond-forming reaction of aryl nonaflates is described. The protocol was optimized for the synthesis of aryl phosphine oxides and was found to be tolerant of a wide range of aryl nonaflates. The general nature of this transformation was established with coupling to other P(O)H compounds for the synthesis of aryl phosphonates and an aryl phosphinate. The straightforward synthesis of stable, isolable aryl nonaflates, in combination with the rapid C-P bond-forming reaction allows facile preparation of aryl phosphorus target compounds from readily available phenol starting materials. The synthetic utility of this general strategy was demonstrated with the efficient preparation of an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) material and a phosphonophenylalanine mimic.

Abstract
In this work, we developed a ligand- and base-free visible-light-mediated protocol for the photoredox syntheses of arylphosphonates and, for the first time, alkyl phosphonates. Zinc phthalocyanine-photocatalyzed Csp2-P and Csp3-P bond formations were efficiently achieved by reacting aryl/alkylhydrazines with trialkylphosphites in the presence of air serving as an abundant oxidant. The reaction conditions tolerated a wide variety of functional groups.

Abstract
We herein described a visible light induced nickel(II)-catalyzed cross-coupling of secondary phosphine oxides with aryl halides. The Ni(I) species and chlorine atom radical Cl˙ were generated via the ligand to metal charge transfer (LMCT) process of the NiCl2(PPh3)2, which allows nickel(IV)-phosphorus species in situ formation, giving various tertiary phosphine oxides under photocatalyst-free conditions.

Abstract
α-Alkylation of methyldiarylphosphine oxides with (hetero)arylmethyl alcohols was performed under nickel catalysis. Various arylmethyl and heteroarylmethyl alcohols can be used in this transformation. A series of methyldiarylphosphine oxides were alkylated with 30-90% yields. Functional groups on the aromatic rings of methyldiarylphosphine oxides or arylmethyl alcohols including OMe, NMe2, SMe, CF3, Cl, and F groups can be tolerated. The conditions are also suitable for the α-alkylation reaction of dialkyl methylphosphonates.

Abstract
Plasmon-enhanced light harvesting has been of great interest to enhance the catalytic efficiency of some composites or hybrids. The enhanced peroxidase-like activity of phosphorylated iron(III) porphyrin (TPPFe(III))-based nanocomposite, induced by localized surface plasmon resonance for a colorimetric assay, was developed in this study. Firstly, a phosphate group modification strategy was adopted to synthesize water-soluble iron(III) porphyrin materials. Then, the as-synthesized TPPFe(III) was covalently attached to core-shell gold nanorods (GNRs), GNR@Au2S/AuAgS, to form TPPFe(III)-GNR@Au2S/AuAgS nanocomposite, which shows greatly enhanced peroxidase-like activity compared to TPPFe(III). A mechanism for the enhanced peroxidase-like activity of TPPFe(III)-GNR@Au2S/AuAgS was proposed, which results from a synergic effect of hot electrons excited by localized surface plasmon resonance and photogenerated electrons of the TPPFe(III), verified by experiments. Furthermore, a fast colorimetric assay for the detection of H2O2 and glucose was established based on the unique property of TPPFe(III)-GNR@Au2S/AuAgS. This colorimetric assay was applied to determine practical human serum samples; satisfactory results demonstrate this method has high accuracy. The present study would not only provide some insights into the mechanism of plasmon-activated enzyme-like reactions, but also offer new strategies for improving the catalytic activity of a mimetic enzyme.

Abstract
Gold-catalyzed C-heteroatom (C-X) coupling reactions are evaluated without using sacrificial oxidants. Vital to the success of this methodology is the nucleophile-assisted activation of aryldiazonium salts, which could be an effective oxidant for converting Au(i) to Au(iii) even without the addition of an assisting ligand or photocatalyst. By accelerating the reaction kinetics to outcompete C-C homo-coupling or diazonium dediazoniation, gold-catalyzed Sandmeyer reactions were achieved with different nucleophiles, forming C-Br, C-S and C-P bonds in high yields and selectivities.
