Abstract
Transition-metal-catalyzed sila-cycloaddition has been a promising tool for accessing silacarbocycle derivatives, but the approach has been limited to a selection of well-defined sila-synthons. Herein, we demonstrate the potential of chlorosilanes, which are industrial feedstock chemicals, for this type of reaction under reductive nickel catalysis. This work extends the scope of reductive coupling from carbocycle to silacarbocycle synthesis and from single C-Si bond formation to sila-cycloaddition reactions. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions and shows good substrate scope and functionality tolerance, and it offers new access to silacyclopent-3-enes and spiro silacarbocycles. The optical properties of several spiro dithienosiloles as well as structural variations of the products are demonstrated.

Abstract
A three-component reaction of alkynes, arylzinc chlorides, and iodomethanes was found to proceed in the presence of a rhodium catalyst to give high yields of trisubstituted/tetrasubstituted alkenes. The usual arylzinc chlorides only gave trisubstituted alkenes, generated through a migratory carbozincation-cross-coupling sequence, where 1,4-Rh migration from an alkenyl carbon to an aryl carbon occurred. In contrast, 5-membered heteroarylzinc chlorides only gave the tetrasubstituted alkenes via a carborhodation-cross-coupling pathway without 1,4-migration.

Abstract
The development of a straightforward strategy to obtain enantioenriched silicon-stereogenic benzosiloles remains a challenging yet appealing synthesis venture due to their potential future application in chiral electronic and optoelectronic devices. In this context, all of the existing methods rely on Rh-catalyzed systems and are somewhat limited in scope. Herein, we disclose the first Ni0 -catalyzed ring expansion process that enables the preparation of benzosiloles possessing tetraorganosilicon stereocenters in excellent yields and enantioselectivities. The presented catalysis strategy is further applied to the asymmetric synthesis of silicon-stereogenic bis-silicon-bridged π-extended systems. Preliminary studies reveal that such compounds exhibit fluorescence emission, Cotton effects and circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) activity.

Abstract
Herein, a readily available disilane Me3SiSiMe2(OnBu) has been developed for the synthesis of diverse silacycles via Brook- and retro-Brook-type rearrangement. This protocol enables the incorporation of a silylene into different starting materials, including acrylamides, alkene-tethered 2-(2-iodophenyl)-1H-indoles, and 2-iodobiaryls, via the cleavage of Si–Si, Si–C, and Si–O bonds, leading to the formation of spirobenzosiloles, fused benzosiloles, and π-conjugated dibenzosiloles in moderate to good yields. Preliminary mechanistic studies indicate that this transformation is realized by successive palladium-catalyzed bis-silylation and Brook- and retro-Brook-type rearrangement of silane-tethered silanols. A readily available disilane Me3SiSiMe2(OnBu) as a silylene source has been developed for the synthesis of diverse silacycles via Brook- and retro-Brook-type rearrangement.![]()

Abstract
An operationally simple nickel-catalyzed hydroarylation reaction for alkynes is described. This three-component coupling reaction utilizes commercially available alkynes and aryl bromides, along with water and Zn. An air-stable and easily synthesized Ni(II) precatalyst is the only entity used in the reaction that is not commercially available. This reductive cross-coupling reaction displays a fairly unusual anti selectivity when aryl bromides with ortho substituents are used. In addition to optimization data and a preliminary substrate scope, complementary experiments including deuterium labeling studies are used to provide a tentative catalytic mechanism. We believe this report should inspire and inform other Ni-catalyzed carbofunctionalization reactions.

Abstract
A conceptually novel reaction cascade is presented, which allows readily available enynes to be converted into functionalized 1,3-dienes comprising a stereodefined tetrasubstituted alkene unit; such compounds are difficult to make by conventional means. The overall transformation is thought to commence with formation of a metallacyclic intermediate that evolves via cleavage of an unstrained C-X bond in its backbone. This non-canonical cycloisomerization process is followed by a cross-coupling step, such that reductive C-C bond formation regenerates the necessary low-valent metal fragment and hence closes an intricate catalytic cycle. The cascade entails the formation of two new C-C bonds at the expense of the constitutional C-X entity of the substrate: importantly, the extruded group X must not be a heteroelement (X=O, NR), since activated β-C-C bonds can also be broken. This concern was reduced to practice in two largely complementary formats: one procedure relies on the use of alkyl-Grignard reagents in combination with catalytic amounts of Fe(acac)3, whereas the second method amalgamates cycloisomerization with Suzuki coupling by recourse to arylboronic acids and phosphine-ligated palladium catalysts.

Abstract
Straightforward synthesis of benzosiloles was achieved by the invention of Pd/acid-catalyzed intramolecular anti-hydroarylation of aryloxyethynyl(aryl)silanes via ortho-C-H bond activation. The aryloxy group bound to the ethynyl carbon is the key factor for this transformation.

Abstract
We report herein a new approach for the synthesis of tellurium-bridged aromatic compounds based on the sequential electrophilic telluration of C(sp2)-Zn and C(sp2)-H bonds with tellurium(iv) chlorides. A combination of transition metal-catalyzed (migratory) arylmetalation of alkynes and sequential telluration allows for the expedient construction of a library of functionalized benzo[b]tellurophenes. Furthermore, a variety of heteroarene-fused benzotellurophenes and other novel tellurium-embedded polycyclic aromatics can be readily synthesized from the corresponding 2-iodoheterobiaryls.

Abstract
An intermolecular three-component arylsilylation of alkynes has been developed under mild palladium/copper cooperative catalysis. The reaction proceeds through syn-addition of an aryl group and a silyl group across the carbon-carbon triple bond of an alkyne. This represents the first transition-metal-catalyzed fully intermolecular arylsilylation of alkynes, and transformations of the resulting products have also been demonstrated.

Abstract
An iron catalyst combined with a mild organic oxidant promotes both C-H bond cleavage and C-N bond formation, and forms 2-pyridones and isoquinolones from an alkene- or arylamide and an internal alkyne, respectively. An unsymmetrical alkyne gives the pyridone derivative with high regioselectivity, this could be due to the sensitivity of the reaction to steric effects because of the compact size of iron.

Abstract
Rapidly aSSembled: The combination of cobalt-catalyzed migratory arylzincation and copper-mediated/catalyzed chalcogenative cyclization allows the construction of benzothiophenes and benzoselenophenes from arylzinc reagents, alkynes, and elemental chalcogens. Benzothiophenes and benzoselenophenes diversely functionalized at the benzene ring moiety can be prepared, which are not readily accessible by conventional methods.
